We are back from our 11 day Ultimate Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Summit. All in all, it was great! About the only negative thing I can say is that the disembarkation was a nightmare.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, October 28th. It was the usual uneventful plane ride down (thank God) and about the only thing different was I got pulled aside and was given the royal inspection. They emptied out all my little bags of stuff in my carryon tote. My jewelry bag was opened and all the little satin pouches opened and checked. Ditto with my makeup bag, medicine bag, and even my wallet. I had to assume to position, take off my shoes, and show the bottoms of my feet. I told them I felt safer knowing they were doing a good job and to keep up the good work.

The ship was very pretty. At first, I thought the outside was a little garish, but we both grew to like it. It stands out! The inside of the ship was elegant, but as many have commented, the artwork was pretty ugly (in my opinion, anyway). At the top of the main staircase in the main lobby were two paintings which resembled something you might see at K-Mart in the party department. Also here and there were plastic freeform chairs right next to beautifully upholstered ones. There is a strange statue of what looks like a nurse levitating. Really weird! Other than that, we liked the dining room decor, the pools, the Cova Cafe, and the staterooms were cheery and comfortable.
