Loved the food! Oh my! Could not believe the variety and quality in the Lido. I enjoyed fantastic salads for lunch topped with shrimp and an endless choice of fresh veggies and special salads. The best meal was the Tamarind dinner. Really exceptional! The wasabi crusted tenderloin tasted like nothing else. To die for! We ate in the Pinnacle Grill twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. For some reason the first visit was good, but the last night really shined. The steaks were tender and cooked to perfection. Loved the Ceaser salad prepared table side. MDR was really good as well. The service was very good and the food was excellent. Took the full 2 hours for every meal, but we loved taking our time and enjoying the meal. Really a special time to connect with the college kids.
New Years Eve was a blast. The staff really went above and beyond to make it a special event. There was food and displays everywhere. The champagne was flowing. Very generous pours and everyone had plenty! Great music playing in every bar and lounge. We had so much fun checking out all the parties, but closed out the night at the main stage. Balloons were dropped, the captain rang a bell, and it was really an awesome celebration. JC was the best cruise director. He cracked up the kids with his jokes and energy.
The only downside of the cruise was the tendering in Roatan and Cayman Islands. Very slow and passengers were cranky and tired of waiting. Slow tendering cut into our time in the ports. In ports we did horseback riding on Half Moon Cay (loved it!), Stingray sailing on Cayman Islands (nice), private tour with Victor Bodden (zip-line was excellent the tour was just ok), and had a fantastic private tour with Native Choice on Costa Maya. Did the ruins and then lunch at the lagoon. Wonderful food and the hotel at the lagoon was amazing.
Can not imagine a better cruise! The Eurodam is in a class by herself!
