Carnival Breeze Cruise Review by nomadone
- Sail Date: December 2012
- Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Entertainment was nothing short of embarrassing. Do they think that a hairy chest contest or daily trivia shows is engaging? If you didn't gamble or play bingo, there was absolutely nothing to do all day. One 3 person jazz group played occassionally in the main lobby or one of the bars. No live music in the theater, day or night. No movies other than kids' movies played at the pool on a big screen (unless you wanted to pay per view in your room). Evenings were filled with one of two 30 minute lip sync shows, scantily clad ladies gyrating in front of a fake background with revolving lasers (rerun every other night). On the other nights, we were given another trivia contest, no show 1/2 of the nights unless you consider their "BEACH PARTY" at the pool something more than another chance to sell you a few drinks. The last day was the election of "Miss Carnival Breeze," another embarrassment. The contestants were an obese woman selected by the cruise director and a man in drag. Cruel, not funny.
Dining: Specialty restaurants were sold out on day one. The food in the Cucina was good, we were able to eat there on the last night, no such luck with the steak house. The dining room food is mostly inedible. Cold soup is melted ice cream. Beef tastes like it's tenderized horsemeat (I'm seriously not sure it wasn't, it was inedible due to a strange taste). Everything, including all of the egg brunch items, are served at room temperature. My poached eggs were hard boiled eggs thrown on top of a stale english raisin muffin (not ever toasted). I think that some of the food service is malicious. It is below the standard of anything I have ever seen, either on a cruise or in a restaurant.
They should also be prosecuted for abusing their help. After they finish serving dinner, these poor waiters are forced to jump on the service counters and do a suggestive dance for the diners after dinner. It was sad to have to watch it. I will never go back on Carnival. They should not be allowed to sell this product to the public.
We were not the only very unhappy campers, you couldn't speak to another passenger (maybe other than the kids who spent the whole time drinking beer), without hearing the same thing over and over. The only positives here were the embarking and disembarking procedures, which were handled efficiently. They are always ready to pack in another group of cattle as fast as possible.

Grand TurkNothing for us to do since the water was too rough to snorkle. There are a couple of small "resorts" with restaurants, no independent restaurants that I could see. Little tourism here, no town to visit, no shopping.View All 1,747 Grand Turk Cruise Port Reviews

NassauMany things to do here on the water. Glass bottom boat right at the pier and several nice beaches to visit. We paid $30 at the Sheraton Cable Beach for use of the pool and beach and all equipment. It was a good deal and would recommend.View All 5,278 Nassau Cruise Port Reviews

ChairliftWe took the excusion called "Tranoply" at Mystic Mountain. This was a nice place, but there were three ships in port so the rides were 1-2 hours wait for everything. We never got on the bobsled ride (which looked like fun) since we had to wait 1.5 hrs for the zip line. It was good, lots of platforms. Just too many people packed in. Carnival would not refund our money for the bobsled ride either, very disappointed.View All 16 Chairlift Reviews
