We have just returned from a 7 night cruise to the Canaries on Thomson Majesty. We were very disappointed with the ship and with the service. We have been on 23 cruises, mainly with Royal Caribbean who offer the most beautiful ships and wonderful service.

This ship was tired, lack-lustre and the service was terrible. On RCI you only have to go go the bar once and the waiter knows your name and sometimes your choice of drink. Here, the barmen seemed very apathetic. The food was very poor. The lunches up in the Cafe Royal and the Piazza were cold and unappetizing. In the evening, the waiters leaned across me to slap the food down on the next person's place. The tables weren't ready if you got there by 8.30, with dirty table cloths.

Our cabin on deck 3 was very small, with 2'6" beds, uncomfortable pillow, and greying 'white' duvets. The towels in the bathroom were thin and greying. A smell came up from the shower and the loo was blocked once. My husband reported a blocked loo in the gents up on deck and by the time they had fixed it, it was spilling out on to the deck.

Cabin Review

Tiny closet - only 11" wide for hanging dresses, £15 for safe - never had that before. Sheets, pillows and towels need to be replaced
