Even though this was my first time cruising I was completely surprised by RCCL's high standard of service/performance. Granted it may not be 100 points but it's very close (98-99 points) and I doubt any other cruise line can top that.

First off, embarkation was very smooth. RCCL has it down! Once we were inside the boat we were treated with some holiday champagne. :)

We couldn't get to our room until 3 p.m. because the cruise was busy deep cleaning the rooms and stuff. And I have to agree with them. the room looked almost like brand new at first glance. and we didn't receive our last piece of luggage until after dinner. that's ok we had most other lugguages by 5 p.m. A full boat of over 6400+ passengers RCCL was pretty efficient.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

My stateroom was 12180. Not the best room to take because there is a water/sewage/drainage pipe next to the balcony door. if you leave the door open for fresh air you will hear water flushing down the pipe. Balcony size is decent unless you are a couple of 300 pounders.

The room itself is quite because my neighbors are elderly people without young kids. Closet size is adequate. Bed is way too soft. Time to replace the mattress (if RCCL is reading) please. The bed is next to the closet and the soft is on the balcony side. Not my preference but this is the way it is set up and you can't change that. Next time, I'd pick another room where the bed is next to the balcony.

12180 isn't too far away from the elevators so it was quite quiet until some kids screaming and running in the hallway.
