Carnival Legend Cruise Review by debogey
- Sail Date: December 2012
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Balcony
From the first day, the food was the worse we've ever had on a cruise. This included the buffets and the main dining room. It was bland and tasteless. The supposed hot foods were served practically cold and the cold foods were room temperature at best.
The service in the main dining room was slow and the entire wait staff seemed more interested in entertaining you than serving you. In the buffets, it took the staff forever to clean off tables so you could sit down to eat in the buffet or pool areas.
The entertainment on the ship from every venue sounded like a never ending, bad karaoke contest. (Funny though...the karaoke contest with the passengers had much better singing.) The cruise staff members were too busy working to be friendly or courteous.
The guest services desk seemed to have hired the most obnoxious and unprofessional people they could find. When you went to them with a question or complaint, they treated you like you were a bother instead of a customer.
The ship itself is in horrible condition. There was graffiti in the elevators, paint peeling and rust everywhere, and the elevators always took forever or were locked on another floor. Overall, it was the worse cruise my wife and I have ever been on.
PS...DO NOT PICK CABIN 8217. Unknown to us, it is located directly below the kitchen area for the buffets and for room service. There was a constant banging of pots, pans and dropped utensils 24/7 and it was difficult to sleep.
I will never, ever again sail with Carnival!! NCL is superior in every way.
