Fantastic cruise on Voyager of the Seas

Sail Date: November 2012
Destination: Australia & New Zealand
Embarkation: Sydney (Australia)
EMBARKING: Our alloted time for embarking was 1.30pm we arrived at that time and were onboard on deck 11 hving a drink at 2.15pm.

I will begin with the negatives. I would like to address the wingers onboard this cruise: You compained about the ship being too big, all information about size and capacity was available prior to you booking your cruise so don't complain about the ship being too big. People comlained about the food and queues in the Windjammer buffet maybe if you put some shoes on and combed your hair and didn't act like morons your could eat in the main dining rooms. The way some Australians spoke to the crew in the Winjammer was discusting it made me ashamed to be an Aussie. I could go on all day about the wingers but I won't the cruise is want you want to make it.

We had a fantastic time doing as much or little as we wanted.
CABIN: We had a balcony cabin on deck 8. Our cabin was in a great position close to the lifts and easy access to all More facilities. Our room attendant Gene was excellent calling us by name from the very first day and was always asking if we needed anything.

DINING: We chose anytime dining and made a reservation prior to sailing for 6.45pm. Each evening we arrived at our reservation time from the 3rd evening we did not ever have to say our name or cabin number on arrival at the dining room the staff on the door called us by name on arrival and arranged immediate seating. Our waiters were Salvator and Harold they were excellent. My husband is quite a plain eater and on a couple of occasions there was not something on the entree/starter menu which appealed to him so our waiter suggested alternatives which were not on the main menu. There was as much food as we wanted with Salvator or Harold asking every evening if we would like additional servings. (we didn't we were full).

ENTERTAINMENT: The 2 production shows we saw were first time events and were spectacular. The Ice Odyssey show was amazing with motion in the ocean the performers did not miss a beat. The only show which was a little disappointing was the Beatniks, not the original and very ordinary.

CHILDREN: I believe there were 190 children onboard and with the exception of one obnoxious child you would not have known they were on-board.

SMOKING: Smoking is still legal, there are limited places on-board for smokers eg Deck 11 Starboard outside, Deck 4 Starboard outside, Sky Bay outside and cabins with balcony. Everywhere else is non-smoking so give it a rest and stop treating smokers like they are second class citizens.

DISEMBARKMENT: What an excellent experience, we were called from our waiting area at 7.30am which was on-time, collected our luggage and were outside the terminal waiting to be picked up at 7.45am. Less

Cabin review: D28608 Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin 8608. The only negative is it was an interconnecting cabin with 8606 which we did not request. Because of the interconnecting door we only had 1 lounge chair not a 2 seater sofa which meant we could not both sit on the sofa to watch tv one had to sit on the bed.
