It was a leisurely car ride of 4 1/4 hrs to Baltimore from Pittsburgh to board the Carnival Pride bound for the Caribbean. The embarkation went smoothly, and we went to get a nice lunch on board before sailing. The stateroom was very nice and well maintained. The shower was a little larger than past ships we've been on, which made showering a lot easier. We had a great balcony view just behind and lower than the ship's bridge. It was so interesting to see the pilot and the captain watching out their side windows, carefully making sure our exit from port was uneventful.

We loved the animals made out of towels, especially the monkey hanging from the ceiling! The steward, Buddy, was so congenial and smiling all the time. He just had a baby girl 2 weeks prior to the voyage, and could hardly wait to get home to Indonesia to see her! He and his staff kept the room clean and well ordered throughout the cruise.

The dining was phenomenal! Our chief waiter, Almund, and his staff took absolute care of us, knew us by name, and went overboard (excuse the pun!) to meet our every need. They even sang and danced for us! It was so interesting tasting foods that your not used to. and everything was beautifully presented and delicious. (Thanks for the extra lobster tail, Almund!) I loved the shrimp cocktail at each meal.
