Carnival Legend Cruise Review by C U Around
- Sail Date: October 2012
- Destination: Western Caribbean
- Cabin Type: Balcony
The ship looked in good shape, clean and everyone went out of their way to great all the passengers. The decor of the ship was in excellent taste and I was amazed of the ship layout. Most of the activity was located on decks 2,3 & 4 for shopping, shows, the casino and lounge areas. The casino was always busy and the smoke unbearable. You had to walk through it constantly (which was no problem), they just needed a better air system to handle the smoke. I did like the bar area in the casino as well.
The sports bar had no food to offer during any of the Sat or Sun football games. Passengers had to go up to the Lido deck to get food and bring it back down to the 3rd floor. It would have been a good idea for them to offer some kind of refreshments.
The steakhouse was amazing. We went the first night and received a nice bottle of Merlot for free with the meal. We all had something different, ribeye, surf and turf and a filet. The entire meal was more than worth the $35 per person and service outstanding. When we asked our waiter his name, he at first laughed and said "Dare Devil", (real name was NeB). If you should go on this ship, please take the time to eat here, you will really be pleased and the meal had a great view overlooking the ocean (10th floor) near the smoke stack. We found the dining room for breakfast very slow, food warm (not hot). Even though the food was excellent and the portion size perfect. Our dining every night was excellent (8pm sitting). Ramone and Ningingh were spot on with any needs as well as bringing the food out at the appropriate times. Very impressive with the number of tables they had to keep track of. Their sing alongs were enjoyable as well. On day three, we had another couple sit with us on their honeymoon. Accommodations were made for them to sit with us during the rest of the cruise. Customer Service in the Truffles restaurant was the best.
Port & Shore Excursion Reviews
Belize CityMany of the port excursion had been cancelled due to the high winds and seas. Local tours were still on. We were told by many of the locals in the shopping area not to leave the gated area. Others who worked on the ship and passengers who had been to this port prior also stated that if we were not on a tour through the ship, not to explore on our own. We found some good deals and headed back to the ship early. The tender had some trouble and we had to wait quite a while to get off the ship.View All 2,217 Belize City Cruise Port Reviews

CozumelWith the high wind and seas, our excursion was cancelled. So, we had to do what girls do best, shop and drink. Met up with some other cruisers in town and enjoyed the local food and beverages. You can never go wrong at Carlos and Charlies along with Senior Frog. The locals where extremely nice in every shop and the weather stayed sunny and breezy.View All 5,718 Cozumel Cruise Port Reviews

Grand CaymanOur boat was able to get into port (other side of the island) away from George Town. We took a tender to a small dock (waited in many lines to get off the ship (1 hr)as the seas were still high and very windy. The sun was out which made the weather enjoyable. When we took a taxi to George Town, the waves were crashing 4 to 6 feet and splashing up against the sea wall. Wind gusts were strong and all water excursions were cancelled. We were just happy that our ship was able to come in. We were the first ship to come to the island in three days. Many were getting great deals on jewelry.View All 2,845 Grand Cayman Cruise Port Reviews

RoatanNice little beach, clean and the landscaping tropical. We had a nice day on the beach sun bathing. This was a relaxing day off the boat without having to take a tour or take a drive to get to a beach.View All 2,529 Roatan Cruise Port Reviews
