Pearls of the Aegean was spectacular!

Sail Date: October 2012
Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean
Embarkation: Venice
The Ports were an outstanding selection of the Greek Isles and surrounding area. We usually arrived early and was able to beat the crowds that were still in force at this late part of the tourist calendar. Sometimes we were the only ship, other times there were 4 or 5. What can you do? A representative was always available to help the morning of the departure into the ports. Found them very helpful..and reliable. We either did the ports on our own or had booked on the internet. Most could be done with some advanced preparation on our own.

Food..was just amazing. You could choose from the very fancy to very simple. Eat as much as you like, or as little. Lots of choices. The specialty restaurants had impeccable service and superb cuisine.
The Bon Apetite Culinary center was a delight. My wife and I took a Mediterranean food course and found it to be well taught and a worthwhile part of the trip.

Ship...the top of the line! Interiors were decorated with More such taste and kept immaculate. Service was beyond helpful. Crew went out of their way to be of assistance.

Since we walked all day touring the ports, did not attend the shows. There was so much to see and do, just did not make it to the theater. This was a real walking cruise! Though there were no children, the cruisers all seem to get around well...whether they had black hair or silver. The majority were 50+ in years, but this was not a problem.

Cabins were fine. Information on bed in the evening was perfect explaining the next day's port.
Never the less, one must do studying on your own, since there is so much to see and do in each port.
In summary, this was an outstanding cruising experience. We have river cruised in Europe and cruised the Caribbean, and Alaska. This was tops in service, food, ports and ship . I would highly recommend this
cruise without reservations! Less

Cabin review: B1 Verandah Stateroom

Cabin was quite adequate. Bathroom was spacious. The veranda was wonderful to watch the world go by..esp when departing Venice. The views were spectacular. Room service was great.

Our original guy did NOT show up. Had done it through internet. Another driver talked to us...we went with him and were not disappointed. Took us everywhere...very nice experience. We renegotiated the price from the original internet price and save $60.

The museum had moved an 1 1/2 away...We decided to take a taxi and then a ferry to see what was an old Leper colony and fort. Time well spent. People who took tour complained about the long drive and little to see.

Basically knew about walking the wall..had local currency before we left, so no time was spent exchanging into Croatia currency. Love our day!

Very interesting. Lots of waling. Could have used a tour, but a gorgeous setting that I am glad we saw.

Delos and Mykonos in last day. Should have booked a tour of Delos. An island museum that would have been better with some explanation. Our fault. Mykonos was DIY and was an easy place to explore. Love the sight and food.

Got there early to beat the crowd and was able to see/do about everything. Loved the island!!!!! Just a great day in paradise!

We arrived on a Thursday and spent the night on the ship which would depart Friday at 4pm. We read about the water taxi and was able to immediately jump on the taxi near the ship and spend the evening San Marco and area. Spent all day Friday also running around Venice before returning to the ship for its departure. ATMs were everywhere!
