How to radically alter your mode of living...it really was a departure. I had not cruised in over 20 years and Robert had never cruised...you might call us semi-newbies!

The Constellation was a far cry from the "Fun Ships" and the barefoot cruising of my past. I chose CC simply for the price vs the amenities available in other classes. I was very anxious that R be comfortable on his first cruise and this more than met the ticket.

At the last minute, I switched our cabin to an open handicapped room on the aft and wound up with twice the space and a huge balcony! *tip - the Baltic is cold and a balcony is not really a necessity at all as it might be in the Med. The downside of this cabin is that in warm months noise from the seaside grill would be VERY noticeable. Noise is a factor in Sky deck cabins when the weather permits a lot of outdoor activity. In warm weather, book deck 8 or below. The cabin and amenities were delivered as advertised. Always fresh fruit and flowers and R had his pillows galore. The bedding was very comfortable and our steward placed a larger table for in room dining which we did a lot. It was meticulously maintained and coffee, water and smoothies appeared at all hours. While Celebrity will sell you just about anything on the ship, just imagine my disappointment when I found that I could not take the steward home with me. Izzy was more of a butler, hanging clothes and sometimes choosing meals when we came in from a long excursion. Constellation gets 6 stars from me on the cabin and the staff.
