Carnival Glory Cruise Review by Wacher
- Sail Date: September 2012
- Destination: Canada & New England
- Cabin Type: Interior
Unfortunately the weather in St John & Halifax was not very good but the experience on the ship more than made up for the weather.
From the Room cabin staff to the wait staff to the entertainment staff, we could not have expected a more professional, friendly, accommodating vacation.
The first name greeting from the room steward every morning and night and the smile on their faces made the a great start of the day.
The hostess and wait staff at dinner always greeted you by your first name.
The service was 1st class. The food was 1st class. The desserts were second to none.
We were not expecting the quality of food that we found on this voyage.
Every appetizer, soup, salad, entree & dessert was presented as you would find in a gourmet restaurant.
Every dish was tasty, made with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection.
There was not one canned vegetable to be found on any of the dishes.
Frog legs appetizers, crab cakes, oysters Rockefeller, fried shrimp, soups of all descriptions, and not the normal cream based soups you find on other cruise lines.
The assortment of choices on the Lido deck was unmatched. Pizza, Burritos, Deli, Burgers & franks, Mongolian Wok, Fish & chips (Bouillabaisse, fried fish, fried oysters, ahi tuna, octupus, cerviche. All delicious.
The desserts you could die for. Melting chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Date & fig cake, pumpkin pie, souffle.
The entertainment was like being in a broadway theater. The dancers were excellent. The singers also made the show.
4 comics for the week with 4 adult shows each and different each time.
Unless we were on the cruise that everything went right. Carnival is the cruise line for us.
It was fine for my wife and I.
We only slept and spent a hour getting ready for dinner in the room.
The location in the aft of the ship was convenient for dining and near the stairs, which we used quite often.
