Just returned from a 13 night sail on Celebrity Silhouette that departed from Venice on September 4th, 2012. While the ports of call were great the ship itself had many issues. The cruise director, Lisa, and her staff were terrible! No night life at all on this cruise!! We only saw Lisa, the cruise director, 3 times on the ship and never at any of the big sail-away parties or activities that weren't "production show" related.
We were Aqua Class and our primary restaurant, Blu, was disappointing to say the least. The staff was accommodating but the food lacked severely. No flavor!! When we asked to switch our dining room to the main dining room it wasn't easy and on at least 2 separate occasions were shuffled around the dining room, and even made to stand in the middle of tables, unseated, because they were confused where to put us. Considering that additional dollars we spent for Aqua Class status we should have been able to dine anywhere (with the exception of the specialty restaurants) without the problems we encountered.
My travelling buddy fell and seriously sprained her ankle in the Aqua Spa area. It took 45 minutes and several phone calls to get anyone to come and help her. They offered to bring her a band aid when she told them she had fallen and was unable to walk!! It turned out that she had a severely sprained ankle and was on crutches for a few days.
