QUICK OVERVIEW: I found the Norwegian Dawn excellent! I am 14 and loved it, we did travel w/ people but the food and public rooms were mostly excellent! I was however disappointed with the Teens Crew Program!
TEEN'S PROGRAM...DISASTER! = I Have been looking forward to this trip for a year and my cousins traveling with us were around my age and also looking forward to excellent teen parties and activities every night. When we got their we were completely disappointed. There was what seemed to us like older music, nothing new. Most of the girls seemed snobby and most of the guys were quiet. Now this is not NCL's fault, but I feel as counselor's in the teen club, the counselors should have organized activities so I could get to know how these teens really were. Were there organized activities? YES Were they accurate and presented great? NO!!!! LIke, a cool hip-hop party I Looked forward to going to at Dazzles 2, was moved back to the teen club w/o anyone knowing. THe activities that were followed properly were things like cards...not modern things that teens like. We like to dance and listen to new cool music. I found Spinnaker, playing "mom" music was more fun then our club! I wish our club had the same atmosphere as Spinnakers! A lot of activities they wanted us to do were immature for 16 and older or boring.
SPINNAKERS = Spinnaker's was my favorite place! The atmosphere was fun and festive and had just what I was looking for. They had theme nights almost every night, like 50's and 60's sockhop, or 70's groovy disco night and they'd play on the TV all of the contests that were done that night. The live band "Model MAgic" was awesome! For example, on the 70's disco night, my favorite night, everybody (even the guys!) in the band dressed up in 70's outfits and made me feel like I was actually living in the 70's like my mom did. My aunts really enjoyed it as this was music they grew up with as teenagers and still listen to, a.k.a. "mom music". They had laser lights all around the dance floor and club, it was great! Except one night, I got yelled at, yes yelled at by one of the staff members for not being 18 and dancing in this club. I felt he didn't have to yell, but that IS his job. Spinnakers was definitely the best, teens even though it sounds un-cool, (trust me the last thing I wanted to do was dance with my mom, but tons of other girls my age, and older were doing it too!) go with your parents or family members here, it's a ton of fun!!!!!!
