Viking Prestige Cruise Review by va2pa
- Sail Date: July 2011
- Destination: Europe River
- Cabin Type: Deluxe Stateroom with French Balcony
At each port we were met by local tour guides who provided us with lots of info about each destination. We had a decent amount of free time to do extra exploring, shopping or eating. Our ports were Nuremberg, Regensburg, Passau, Melk, Vienna and Budapest. The cruise through the Wachau Valley was breathtaking and the ship had a regional buffet/picnic on the sundeck during this part of the cruise.
Meals were great - breakfast was buffet or they had a few made to order options. Lunch was either casual in the lounge or seated in the dining room - both options were fine. Dinner was great - we tried different regional foods that were very good. Sodas and wine are unlimited during lunch and dinner.
Our cabin was comfortable and we loved the big French Balcony - the views were incredible! Wi-fi was spotty, but really, who wants to spend all your time on the internet when you have the Danube outside your window? Not me!!
This review can't even begin to explain what a wonderful time we had. Although the cities and the Danube itself was the main attraction and the reason we went on this cruise, the Prestige and the crew made it a truly wonderful vacation!
