We are First time cruisers, and we will be returning next year. Previous reviews we have read have been uncomplimentary, and we can't understand this as we had a wonderful experience.

CABINS - our family was split into two rooms (2 older children in inside cabin, parents and 2 younger children in suite)
The Suite exceeded expectations. It was far bigger than we expected. Our cabin steward Nemie was excellent. He kept the room in perfect order. We had a separate bedroom, large sitting area, tv and DVD. Dishes of food were brought to us every night. We had a free bottle of water every day. We also had a walk-in wardrobe and a jacuzzi bath.
The inside cabin spacious enough for two. We had plenty of storage space. Our steward Abdul was friendly and left us funny towel animals. Our room was kept very tidy.

FOOD - we breakfasted every day in the Lido restaurant. Queues were never an issue, no matter what time we went. Food was always plentiful and fresh, a good More variety every day. Barbecue area outside was also excellent. Lunches in the Lido were also of a very high standard, with a good choice of food.
We had dinner every night in the Orion restaurant. Food and drinks waiters attended to your every need. It was a lovely setting. We enjoyed getting dressed up for dinner. The food was excellent, 5 courses every night if you wish. A good selection of dishes. Younger children were offered alternatives if they did not want what was on the menu. Our drinks were regularly topped up. The waiters Alviz and Romarl couldn't do enough for us . Their service was of the highest standard. Drinks waiters Ritchie and Archie were friendly and very attentive.
The bar staff in the Medusa Lounge worked tirelessly, ensuring your glass was never empty.

ENTERTAINMENT - the ship provides a variety of nightly entertainment in the Broadway lounge, the highlight for us being the Crew Show. This revealed a wealth of talent from the already wonderful staff.
Despite what other reviewers have said, there was plenty of opportunity to have quiet time in the library or the Argo Lounge.
The teen club offers a range of activities, allowing its members to make new friends and make use of the Sports Deck.
In the Medusa Lounge, we danced every night away to the fabulous band, Dream Vibe. They always spent time with the passengers, asking them if they wanted any requests. They were a fantastic band, and played a good range of music to appeal to all. We hope to see them again next year!
The quizzes in the Lounge were perhaps a bit cheesy, but if you join in in the right spirit you were sure to have a great time, full of laughter.
The Captain's Gala Night provided you with an opportunity to really dress up. A cocktail and canape reception was accompanied by a wonderful violinist and keyboard player. Captain Roy Dearman gave a warm and funny speech and introduced to the heads of departments. The evening was rounded off by another excellent meal in the Orion.

TRIPS - we did all offshore excursions on our own. We found all of the ports very easy to navigate. Pisa, Sorrento and Monte Carlo were particular highlights. Thomson did lay on complimentary buses to some city centres. The tender to shore was very smooth and we never had to waited in queues.

We look forward to seeing the refurbished ship next year, but we hope the Dream doesn't lose the charm and warmth which made this cruise such a memorable and pleasurable experience. Less
