Island Escape Cruise Review by Arthur Gough
- Sail Date: July 2012
- Destination: Western Mediterranean
We need not have worried, despite being passed its best days the ship is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The cabin was on the small side but again maintained and and spotlessly clean. Towels were changed throughout the day and every night there was a different towel sculpture waiting to welcome you back to the cabin.
The food available in the restaurants was of very good quality and plenty of choice. The service was first class and delivered with a smile by staff who seemed to love their jobs, nothing was too much trouble for them.
The entertainment team worked tirelessly to amuse everyone and produced first class shows throughout the week.
One of our destinations Cannes was not suitable for disembarking due to the weather conditions, however within no time at all the itinerary was adjusted and we managed to go ashore in VilleFranche a short time later. The crew worked hard to rearrange the shore trips and nothing was lost as the Captain was able to adjust the departure time so that nobody missed out on their plans for the day.
All in all a great first time cruise experience and we will definitely be back for more.
Our thanks and good wishes to all on board for a wonderful weeks cruising.
