This city uses the water to great effect.   Cycles are abundant and their cycle lanes are just a wide as the pavement.   We did a number of river cruises and visited the Tivoli which has plenty of restaurants and a theme park.

Copenhagen

Ship berthed very close to the town and we walked to centre where a yearly festival was in full swing showing life past and present in this part of Germany.

Rostock (Warnemunde)

Full of historic building which have been used to their full advantage.   We did an organised tour from Alla Tours who conveyed us by coach to the high part of town.   We then walked through cobbled streets with the quide who explained the relevant aspects of the town.

Tallinn

Port was a long way from the centre of town and we used a Hop-on-Off bus to go to town and see some of the sights.   Worth the visit just to say we had seen the town.

Helsinki

Ship berthed beside a river Hop-on-Off ferry and we used this to reach to town centre.   Visited the Ice Bar in the Nordic Hotel and was impressed.   The town was very clean but our trip ended abruptly with a thunderstorm, otherwise we may have done a bit more sight-seeing

Stockholm

This is another palace where the ornate mosaic tiles cover the roof and walls.

An interesting palace where Emperor Alexander!! was assassinated in 1907.

If you enjoy paintings this is definitely a place to visit.   Its walls are lined with famous Russian rules and their families, paintings by famous European artists and the walls are finished in gold.

An exciting building to visit where the tombs of Romanov rulers and their family lie.   The decor was exquisite.

Well worth a visit, we arrived by hydrofoil and departed by bus.   The palace was built and framed on the Palace of Versailles in France and the fountains were lovely.

All the palaces and historic area visited were very busy with tourists as there were 4 other cruise ships in port with ours.   All locations were well presented and anyone with an interest in Russian History and paintings should endeavour to visit all the ones we saw.

Good position near front of ship with balcony suitable for small table and 2 chairs.   Level 8 was convenient for dining and entertainments.  Noise was minimal

The basic price of the cruise is well worth the money however I felt that the daily charge per person of $12.00 to cover crew tips was excessive and it would be better if it was included in the price of the cruise as you could opt out of paying this daily charge, shown on your bill as a Service Charge.
