We chose this cruise for the length, dates and rates and that we had already experienced the Crown on a previous cruise. By chance the ports of call were all interesting ones.
We only booked about 10 days before departure date, and for the first time were prepared to try an inside cabin. In the end we settled on an ocean view, deck 8, Emerald deck.
Our cabin, E627, was more comfortable then expected, with the bed on the side wall and not under the window as we had expected. This gave us a feeling of spaciousness, and we had more than ample room with loads of cupboard and hanging space. A nice touch is the refrigerator.
Our cabin steward introduced himself and from then on it was easy sailing, nothing was too much trouble for him.
The dining rooms, and options, we prefer anytime dining was more than satisfactory, one comment is that in the buffet not enough thought is put into keeping vegetarian dishes separate from the others. Food is plentiful and tasty, enough choices to satisfy everyone.
Evening entertainment ranged from good to outstanding. The Princess Dancers put on top class shows, and the other entertainers were so good we went back to hear them a second time.
Other services such as embarking/disembarking and the tender service in Santorini was extremely well organised with only a few minutes wait.
In short, what we expected, and more. No doubt we will continue to cruise with Princess.
We expected a totally obstructed view, so were pleasantly surprised to see we had a view. Layout of the cabin was good, bed on side wall, not under the window. Refrigerator in room, flat screen T.V, more than ample hanging and shelf space. Although near the laundromat,no noise at all from there.Well placed between the exits, for the elevators or stairs.
Although near crew service door, no noise was heard.
We have been often to Venice, for the last cruise we spent 10 days in an apartment and know the city very well. This time went to Rialto and then to the ship.
We have been here before when we tendered at the entrance to the city. This time we wandered about the port area for a few hours until returning to the ship
Took a bus into the city and walked about to get the "flavour" of the place. Very quaint, lots of shops, really enjoyable.
We had been to Athens on our previous cruise and this time decided to walk around Piraeus to get a feel of the city, which we know.
A 10 minute walk got us into the town where we spent a few hours just savoring the atmosphere.
A typical Turkish city, full of shops and good deals. Very hot so spent most of the time in the local market.
One of the more unusual places we have been to. After arriving with the tender, took the cable car to the top, walked about, savored the flavor of the place, and then walked down, being careful of the donkeys. What an unusual place!
