This was our first P&O cruise and we were looking forward to the formality we were told was expected. How wrong we were.it all went wrong even before we set off with an upgrade we did not want or ask for, which was only a move of cabin.we had booked a year ago so that our friends disabled parents could join us and picked the cabins we wanted.the move to a lower deck to the stern and separated cabins meant that the parents decided to cancel as it would have been difficult for them. We complained to P&O who were very unhelpful and had already let our original rooms. They blamed the agent, readers offers, who I have to say tried really hard to help us. The 4 of us decided to still go as it was our main holiday, even though our rooms were on different decks and locations.

The boarding also went wrong due to computer failure and we waited 2 hours in a warehouse to board.no refreshments were offered and when we got on board we were told that the sail away was to be paid for. No band on the quayside and our cabin was tiny. We had booked a balcony room and the balcony we got had an enormous overhang which meant no sun EVER got on it!!These were obviously the cabins that were difficult to fill.

On board I found it too big with long walks to anywhere. Entertainment was not bad, lots of tribute acts with only one genuine act and two awful comedians. The total lack of any educational talks was a great disappointment, only port talks to sell the excursions. Food was good but could have been better.we had lots of sea days which we have always enjoyed but the bad weather and total lack of any activities apart from quizzes and bingo depressed all of us.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Adequate size, tiny bathroom, tiny balcony with dreadful overhang,no sun ever got on balcony.cabins on deck 14 are best avoided,if you want any sun.Air conditioning awful.
