Azamara Quest Cruise Review by Miss Penguin
The first day at sea was quite uncomfortable, we sailed into a monsoon, and the ship rocked and rolled, but seemed to settle about 6p.mm the next day.
Manila pier we were greeted by a band, and that night we were treated to a Cocktail party at Fort Santiago courtesy of the Philippines Tourist Board, as this was the maiden voyage of the Azamara Quest to Manila. A fun night ended by a fireworks display.
It was great to get back to our room we were pleasantly tired, and to see the smiles of staff, and our room boys was great. Sitting in the table was a bowl of fresh fruit, bed turned back with chocolates, was very welcoming.
Two days later whilst we at sea, we had just finished our dinner, when thick black smoke started coming out of the funnel, we were advised by the Captain that one of the engines was one fire, and were all advised to muster in our relevant areas. We must commend the crew and staff of Azamara Quest for the professional way in which they handled a highly dangerous situation.
Our special thanks to Azamara Cruises CEO and President Larry Pimental for his generous compensation package and for the way in which they looked after us post cruise whilst in Sandakan and Singapore.
We have just booked our replacement cruise on the Azamara Journey for 2013 and look forward to continuing our Azamara Experience
