Background: My husband and I (Forty-something) took my in-laws (Seventies)on an Alaskan Cruise for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. We sailed round trip to Seattle and stopped in Glacier Bay, Juneau, Sitka, Ketchican and Victoria, BC.
We Flew into Seattle on Friday and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Lake Union. It was an average hotel. Very clean. My in-laws could not walk very far so we took a cab to the Public Market (about $10). We walked around and then from there took a cab to the Crab Pot for dinner (about $10)on Alaskan Way Harbor. We got there around 6pm to beat the rush which worked out great. Good food and nice gift shop at the restaurant.
We ate breakfast at the hotel (very nice buffet) and took a taxi to Pier 91 (about $25).
When we arrived on the ship our cabin #6132 & #6128 were all ready for us. Most of our luggage had already arrived in our cabins as well. We had an upper veranda cabin right next to each other and we asked our cabin steward to remove the partition connecting our balconies to make it one large balcony and he did. These cabins were in a great location on the ship. Very close to the elevators which took us right up to the lido for breakfast and lunch. Also very convenient to the main dinning room for dinners. In the evening we had to walk a bit to get back to our cabins from the theatre and casino but still a great location. You can't have it all close to you. Besides the exercise was good for us.
