We arrived in Seattle four days before the cruise. We have a grand daughter and hubby living there and wanted to spend some time with them. We stayed at Hotel Max, based on the recommendation of another CC poster. It was an excellent choice. The price was a lot more reasonable than most of the local hotels. Hotel Max is about five blocks from Pike Place Market. The Red Fin Restaurant is at the hotel and we ate there quite a few times. It was very convenient and they had a great happy hour. We walked our legs off all over Seattle. We especially enjoyed visiting the Market. It is really a fun place. The Aquarium was great, too. We ate dinner one night at Elliott's and enjoyed it very much. But we also ate at Ivars and found that place to be our favorite. We couldn't get enough of that great seafood. The weather in Seattle was wonderful. We took credit for the sunshine and warm days, as we claimed that we brought it with us from Tucson. Our daughter and her husband joined us in Seattle two days before the cruise.
Now for the cruise. The Infinity had come from FLL and had some bad weather. There was also a medical emergency in San Diego. Hence, it was about two hours late getting into Seattle.
We like to board early and usually get to the pier about 11 a.m. Well, we did not know the ship was late (could not see it from our hotel room). Luckily, we had a nice breakfast at the Red Fin before we checked out.
We had a C-2 Cabin, #8114. Our DD and her DH had a C-3 Cabin, #8130 Although we paid more for our C-2 Cabin than they did for their C-3 Cabin, they were exactly the same. Ours was just a bit closer to the elevator. The cabin was quiet and we felt that it was in a good location. We also had a great view from our balcony. But I do not see any advantage to paying more for a C-1 or C-2 Cabin when you can get the same for a C-3. One thing that I liked is that the bed was near the door/hallway and the sofa was near the balcony. I really prefer this arrangement.
