After we received our cruise as a gift, I started reading reviews. Some of the reviews we not very favorable, so we were a bit apprehensive. Our cruise could not of been any better even if we could of made changes. The food, the service, the entertainment, the crew and the ship itself were all top notch. This is our second cruise, but the first with the Freestyling concept. We loved it.
Boarding the ship was a breeze. We preregistered on the internet. At 11:30 AM we were still in our hotel about 1 mile from the pier. At 1:00 PM we were already in our stateroom. The stateroom was a pleasant surprise. It was a nice size, with plenty of room for all of our clothes and luggage. All of the employees that we encountered we both knowledgeable and helpful. After dropping off our carry-on luggage, we were off to explore the beautiful ship. We booked some shore excursions and made some reservations for the specialty restaurants.
It took us a day before we finally found everything, but it was fun trying to locate each restaurant. Every day we had breakfast in the Versailles restaurant. In the evening we usually ate in the Aqua restaurant. Three nights we tried the specialty restaurants. First we tried the Teppanyaki room. They can only seat 12 at a time, so it's important to reservations early in the cruise. It was so good we booked again for the last night of the cruise. We also tried Cagney's Steakhouse. It too was wonderful! For anyone that doesn't want to pay the cover charge in the specialty restaurants, the main dining rooms are also very good. We are early eaters, so we never had to wait in line.
