Brilliance of the Seas Cruise Review by kms2012
- Sail Date: May 2012
- Destination: Baltic Sea
- Cabin Type: Large Outside View Stateroom
What let it down? Firstly the price of drinks and wine on board are far too expensive, especially when you are forced into paying a 15% gratuity on top of what are already inflated prices - two small glasses of Sauvignon blanc £12.00? Essentially you need to get the basic cruise for a really good price, or your holiday will work out very expensive if you like a glass of wine or two!
The excursions are also very, very dear (for this cruise), so much so that we booked our own tours in all the ports and saved a fortune in the process - despite RCL advising us via the port lecture and in room TV that it would be difficult to do things on your own and we might be disappointed! - As I say this was not the case on this cruise, it was easy.
The Port Lecture was merely a vehicle to sell the tours RCL had left available and there was very little information on the actual destination/port - I don't mind them selling/pushing the tours, but they should have called it "Excursion Information/Sales" not Port Lecture!
However, these points aside, we had a great time and the weather in Norway was fantastic.
