Norwegian Jade Cruise Review by grape farmer
- Sail Date: May 2012
- Destination: Eastern Mediterranean
- Cabin Type: Mid-Ship Mini-Suite with Balcony
*Cabin was fine, spacious, this particular one has a partial overhang so we could get some sun. Most have a full overhang.
*Main dining room food. Very tasty, service better in Alizar than the Grand Pacific.
*Crew-outstanding-best part of NCL we thought. Excellent cabin steward Emmanuel.
*Mykonos-lovely port. Great to walk around.
*Missed Santorini due to "bad" weather. Very disappointing-we were told that we couldn't tender because cable car wasn't running. You could see it going up and down from the ship! There were 5 other ships there and they were tendering. It was very strange. Weather was beautiful, small whitecaps, but nothing major. Maybe bad weather in the forecast? Big damper on the cruise.
*Buffet food-not much changed ever, lack of drink choices. Crowded.
*Weather overall-so windy that they couldn't open up the deck area above pool.*Decor of the ship-it's a ship that was originally built for Hawaii and maybe they think they're going back there some day because it has Aloha stuff all over which is very strange for a European based ship.
It just wasn't a "fit" for us. Too casual perhaps. Which we knew going in but it had the best itinerary for our needs and so we went with it. Again, their crew made the cruise-friendliest ones we have ever seen.

CorfuWalked around-bit of a gray day. Lots of shopping areas and restaurants.View All 547 Corfu Cruise Port Reviews

Katakolon (Olympia)Tiny little area to walk around. 3 streets maybe? Good to do the final shopping for friends. Did not go to Olimpia. Heard that it rained and was very muddy there. Just shopped and ate at a restaurant and people watched. It's a small town, very different look from the other ports so that was interesting-more woodsy/trees/hillside.View All 474 Katakolon (Olympia) Cruise Port Reviews

MykonosLiked Mykonos a lot. Very friendly people. Beautiful white washed buildings. Nice shopping area-stroll through the very tiny streets. Ate at a locals little restaurant and people watched. The windmills were interesting to photograph. Views were very pretty of the town and the water and the windmills. Would recommend.View All 893 Mykonos Cruise Port Reviews
