This was our first HAL cruise, and we were very pleased.
Veendam is a smaller ship than any of the other cruises we've taken, so we were concerned, but pleasantly surprised.
The embarkation was quick and staff very friendly. We were on the the ship by 11:30, ate lunch at the Lido, and in our cabin with all our luggage by 12:30. Couldn't believe it!
Cabin Review
Large Ocean-View Stateroom
760 on Veendam was on the 4th level, mid ship. Wonderful cabin. clean, spacious, tons of storage. Large picture window. Loved that we had a tub with shower instead of a tiny cubicle shower. Water pressure was great, but sometimes hard to control the heat. The AC seemed to have a mind of it's own. Sometimes the cabin was too hot or too cold without us touching the thermostat. Loved the curtain between the cabin and hallway. Hubby could come and go while I was getting ready, without worrying about passer-byers looking into the cabin when ever he opened the stateroom door. Fridge in the cabin would have been nice, however our cabin stewart kept us constantly supplied with ice.
