Embarkation: Wonderful Clean public areas.First rate prevention of spreading of infection by constant hand sanitation. Stateroom: Our bathroom shelves were not clean when we arrived at the cabin. They sent a team to re-clean. Unfortunately, the chrome shelf holders and glass shelves were still dusty and with some "type" of build up (spit?) afterward. I just gave up and cleaned them all myself rather than continue to complain. Our shower shampoo dispenser did not have the innards and was not repaired the entire cruise. Dining: The Summer Palace is very loud. It is hard to hold a conversation with people around the table. This is just due to the acoustic design. Too bad. We loved the Indigo. It is quieter than the Summer Palace. Dinner is slow, plan 1 1/2 hrs for dinner. The food was fantastic. Every night. No complaints. We ate at the Teppanyaki specialty dining. The best of any NCL Teppanyaki restaurants. We have eaten on the Pride of America, and the Dawn. This one was tops. Entertainment: I enjoyed the most of the shows. The hypnotist was fantastic. 2nd City was great. Would have been nice to change things up with a magician and another cast show. Excursions: We took private tours, not ship tours and they were great! Spa: We had the spa package and enjoyed the saunas, mineral pool,jaccuzi and quiet every afternoon. Definitely worth it for us. The one negative on this was that while I was changing in the women's locker room, a repair man walked through unescorted. I put on a robe and went out to complain. The staff apologized and that was it.Promised that it would not happen again. THEN... The SAME worker did it AGAIN later that week. UNACCEPTABLE and unbelievable. Very disappointing. Debarkation: WHAT A DISASTER at the port of Los Angeles! NCL needs to put more staff on this and some organization. 1 1/2 hours in line to clear customs in one of the dining rooms. Supposedly only gold then only walk offs... but the ENTIRE boat was in line. There was NO system to ensure only gold members or walk offs were in line. Just honesty. Well, our boat was filled with cheaters. What a surprise, NOT! 100's of people were allowed to cut into the line as they came down the stairs and this could have been stopped with more staff controlling the crowds.NCL PEARL, you can fix this problem with proper management, PLEASE take care of it. You don't want people leaving their cruise with you mad and frustrated.
