We choose HAL because of the great reviews and the fact that they pried themselves on great food.

I'll start with the good parts, after settling in we really enjoyed our balcony and I don't think we can go back to an inside or ocean view room now. The room stewards were AMAZING best service we've ever had. They do have an adults only pool which was a plus. The best restaurant (well to be frank the only restaurant that makes edible food) was Tamarid. The Explorations Cafe has quite tasty coffee and is well worth the nominal charge. I just wish the cafe would be better regulated so that adults could enjoy a book or newspaper without unattended children running about like wild animals. This cruise time frame is within normal school time so I'm not sure why there were SOOOO MANY CHILDREN.

Now for the biggest let down and the reason we will not cruise on Eurodam again, or at that maybe even HAL all together, the food. The buffet was always cold and tasteless although you could fine a nice dessert from now and then. The main dining room was nearly just as bad. Although the food was warm it was tasteless yet again. Seeking something we would actually enjoy eating we went to the Pinnical Grill. We were not impressed at all. The french onion soup's cheese was not even melted and both our steaks were VERY unevenly cooked. So for the two of us we paid 50 for worse steaks than longhorn. The Terrace grill merely take frozen burgers out and warm them for you. Room service was always cold and tasted horrible, even the coffee had a burnt taste to it. We always tipped hoping the next would maybe be better too, but that never happened. Tamarid was awesome and well worth the 15$ per person charge, we ate here many times as its really the only edible option.
