My husband and I were on the Legend for the March 4-11 cruise to Grand Caymen, Cozumel, Belize and Isla Roatan. Leaving from Tampa was so easy, getting on took little time and we went immediately up for lunch. Burgers, dogs, etc, what better way to start. We ate a couple other lunches up there when all we wanted was a good burger. The ship itself seemed old. Lots of leaks, and cleanliness just not up to part. Employees did not appear as happy as on previous cruises, not as much smiling or asking how we were.
We booked a balcony so we would be able to relax and away from crowds. The room was great. Very clean, plenty of room to move around. Balcony plenty large enough with 2 chairs and a small table. Unfortunately, there were negatives. Our steward was very slow in servicing--once when we came back from Grand Caymen (after being gone for 4 hours) it still was not clean. We were told it would be finished in about 15 minutes, so we went and wandered around, came back after one hour and it still was not done. Found someone else who cleaned it. One night we came back and our ice pitcher had not been filled, which in itself was not a problem, but the ice scoop had been left on the counter, obviously had ice in it, because there was water everywhere. It had melted and several articles were soaked. Not good. Bathroom always seemed to be cleaned to our satisfaction.
Dining was not up to par as our previous Carnival cruises. We choose not to eat in the main dining room because nothing seemed spectacular. This was a disappointment as usually they have some fancier dinners, but not this time. Eating in the buffets gave us a good variety and the food was wonderful.
8200. Excellent location, very quiet, balcony excellent, plenty of room
