This was our first cruise and I'm described as a pretty critical person, but this cruise was great. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate this at a 9.8. We had a balcony cabin on the main deck and the room was very nice. The food overall was very good, except one night in the main dining room, the salmon was not so good. The buffet was very good at all times.

The service from the staff was exceptional, and the Cruise Director, Steve Cassell, was fantastic as well as the entertainment. The crew was constantly cleaning and polishing the ship, and it was kept in immaculate condition throughout the cruise. Although this ship is about 20 years old, it was refurbished and is in great condition. The one thing I was disappointed in, and I'm sure it happens on all cruises, is that the "professional shopper" that tells you about all the great deals to be had at specific stores at port, is just telling you about the stores that obviously paid the cruise line to advertise for them. Being a first time cruiser, we relied on this person to tell us where to go to get some of the good deals, and it turned out to be B.S. and she lost her credibility with me. Skip this part and go on your own.

Bottom line here is that you should not hesitate to jump on board and have a great time! I'm usually one that feels I didn't get my money's worth, but certainly not this time. Can't wait to take our next cruise, and I won't think twice about cruising on the Ecstacy again!
