Cruising from Baltimore was great! They have the check-in/check-out process down to a science. We were able to park and get on board within 20 mins (NOTE: Parking for the week will cost you UPFRONT $105). As with all Carnival Cruises, the staff greeted us with many warm welcomes. The atmosphere was filled with people of great spirits and seemingly happy to be vacationing. Of course lunch was available on the Ledo deck as we await the rooms to be available. Our bags were at our door when we got to the room at approximately 2:30pm. The room stewart greeted us and introduced himself shortly after getting into our room. His service the entire time was excellent and was always just a phone call away. We chose "your time dining" which is convenient, however there was often a wait of about 20-30 mins for a table since it was 9 of us who wanted to eat together. Service in the dining room was great too but twice we did experience a long wait time between the food starters and the main course. This is unlike other Carnival sailing I've been on. On "the fun ship" there are always activities for everyone, however my daugher (in the 15-17 age category) was often bored with the O2 club. This age can be a bit difficult at times because of their great desire to be older and go into the adult (18+) clubs, but can not. It would be great if Carnival had a bit more late night activities for this age group.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Freeport
Our ship docked in Freeport early in the morning, so half the time at this port I was still in bed. We got off the ship for a little while to shop but most sell many of the same things. Depending on how much time you have, it may be beneficial to catch a taxi to Lucaya or other places that have more of a variety.

  • Beach Break
This excursion starts out with a tour of the facility that last approximately 35-45 mins, depending on the questions asked by those in the group. Although nice to see, we were there for the water park so the tour just doesn't go fast enough. This cruise was our second time doing Carnival's all-day excursion to Atlantis, so we knew not to go on the tour. We simply advised the tour guide "been here, done that" and she let us loose, pointing us in the direction to the water park, which saved much precious time to enjoy the park! Atlantis is beautiful, and I don't think there's any other lazy river better. Even the food was tasty. A great excursion but I think the cost is a little pricey.

  • Port Canaveral (Orlando)
There is not much to see or do at this port without transportation. Seems industrial and a place for the ship to restock, fuel up, etc. Recommend catching a taxi or shuttle to nearby cocoa beach. Our shuttle bus driver provided his cell phone number to call him when we were ready to come back, which worked perfectly for us.
