We have travelled with Hurtigruten before (MS Spitsbergen Norwegian coast) but this was sooo much better. We boarded in Reykjavik and it was a little chaotic - a free for all.
We were in an Expedition Suite (ME class) which was lovely. Bed was very comfortable, as were the chairs. There was a minibar fridge which was stocked with soft drinks and beers, 4 bottles of wine and jars of nuts. These ...
I've been to over 130 countries and this was a huge 'bucket list' destination for me. Sailing in the Arctic was one of the most beautiful sights of my life. The ship has been nicely refurbished. The staff was wonderful, especially the expedition team. They were very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. was a repositioning voyage so we had more staff than guests. Some disappointments: no working hot ...
This was a "bucket list" item, to see the coastal scenery of Norway.
Every day had an almost endless abundance of raw natural beauty, with many jaw dropping moments, whether it was the midnight sun bursting from behind cloudy/moody mountains, majestic views of hundreds of miles of partially snow-clad mountains and fjords, or Orca gently gliding through a bay.
The food exceeded all ...
I chose this cruise after researching small ship cruising that offered opportunities to visit small less visited towns and the areas that the big ships don’t have access to. The cruise has a big emphasis on science with an expedition team led by enthusiastic knowledgeable crew who give passengers the ability and encouragement to submit data, photographs, sightings etc to websites tracking the ...
We really enjoyed the staff and meals, and the extra help the crew supplied due to my sister-in-laws limited mobility. Everyone was friendly and efficient, and the excitement of the expedition team (especially when they were discussing their areas of expertise) was wonderful to watch. The cabins were comfy and well designed, and the ship was new and nice. We appreciated the emphasis on ‘green’ ...
Hurtigruten - Cruising Norway’s Coast - msNordNorge
Described as The World’s Most Beautiful Voyage. 4963 km return. 11 days
hurtigruten.com. Norway uses credit cards a lot! I took the equivalent of $200 Cdn and was fine. Insert your credit card into the machine and enter your pin the FIRST time you use your card. Then you’re safe to tap away! Ship only uses your cabin card for payment. ...
We chose hurtigruten cruise because of the destination - Iceland, and past experience with Norwegian coastal voyage.
Unfortunately, while the ship is great, our outside cabin is specious with lots of storage, the human component is the Disaster!
Starting with the ship docking in the different port from what we have been advised by hurtigruten. Hurtigruten made no attempt to contact anyone ...
I really can’t remember why I chose to cruise round the Outer Hebrides in April (the trip had been postponed for a couple of years due to the Covid epidemic) and I realised it was a mad decision on reading previous CC reviews BUT we were very lucky and had excellent weather. This meant that we missed only one landing on Iona.
I think the company have learnt from previous reviews and have ...
Specifically chose this cruise because it included Patagonia given its size and difficulty to get to. Hard to fault Hurtigruten with seamless arrangements great expedition and on board staff. Started in Santiago with a flight to Punta Arenas then a 6pm departure across Drakes Passage. Smooth going across but made up for it on the way back.
Landings at Detaille Island, Jenny Island, Red Rock ...
This was a trip to celebrate my wife's retirement. We had seen the "Mighty Cruise Ships" documentary on the Roald Amundsen and booked within days of watching. We were sailing to Antarctica and returning via the Falkland Islands. When we were due to pay the balance of the holiday, I read a lot of negative reviews of this trip and contacted my travel agent (Trailfinders) to see what feedback they ...
