Overall, this was an excellent trip. Of course, we enjoyed some uncommonly phenomenal weather, so that set the tone for most of the trip. The pre-cruise hotel stay at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver was the perfect place to kick things off. This was our first time Holland America line, and some of the reviews were a little scary. Ship was older but nice. Not run down, and modern decor.
I enjoy cruise entertainment, but the entertainment on this ship was pretty awful. There were a few nights of really good shows, but the others were really bad.

If you need any type equipment by your bed, make sure you bring an extension cord. It was ridiculous how long it took, how many people were involved and what the final result was. We also had air conditioning that didn't get fixed until the last day. We had a problem with the door separating balconies that wouldn't stay closed and was banging. This is an older ship and even though they did remodel , it still needs help ie attention to details. The staff made the boat. Almost all were wonderful . Great smile and attitude . Great Cruise, much better than i expected. Wish more time was available in each port, that is the only drawback i found. Trying to see Rome in 11 hours is sub optimal.
