Absolutely shocking for a so-called 6 star cruiseline

Review for a Asia Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We chose Regent because of reputation, word-of-mouth, travel agent recommendation and I wanted to do something special for my wife's 70th. Our strongest possible advice if you are considering Regent for your next sailing is to look at anyone else first - particularly perhaps Silversea or any other decent line. Regent are a thing of the past. Dreadful pre-cruise organization of travel and ...

Not 'an Unrivaled Experience'

I wanted to celebrate our 40th anniversary with a “bucket list” trip for my wife – something she has been wanting to do since she was child - which was a trip to Japan. We chose Regent for this itinerary and more importantly, the shore excursions, based on our prior experience with them cruising Alaska, and Greece & Turkey. The previously experienced shore excursions were educational, ...

That's the sound of our dreams crashing

That’s the sound of our hopes and dreams crashing…we had anticipated this trip for several years. Regents promises (taken from its website” exquisite meals, refined service and exhilarating shore excursions” but we found it was anything but. The rooms in the boat are very nice, but that’s where the luxury stops. The food was not up to standard and the tours were not well thought out; it ...

Not a quality cruise

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We love cruising. This was our 21st cruise and first on Regent. It was our 3rd cruise this year also. Our room was on the 6th floor. When we arrived we found it was at the end of the hall and out a door which lead to the wellness center. Our room was the only one out there and was between 2 fire doors. People going to work out had two doors slamming all the time. Even 4 am. We went to take a ...

Exhilarating!!

The cruise option just landed in our lap, so to speak (email promotion). The deal was fantastic, reviews of the cruise line were excellent. So we booked, paid all in three days! There is absolutely NOTHING to complain about - everything was fantastic!! This was the first cruise we went on. Our initial plan was to take a short cruise to see what cruising is all about. But when we got this ...

Disappointing-The Good, the Bad and the Ugly!

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We were disappointed with the cruise from Vancouver to Tokyo, for it lacked the five star quality that we were expecting. We have been on over 20 cruises, and in certain areas-like the internet and excursions-it was by far the worse of any cruise. Perhaps Regent is now a three star line. I will start with The Good. The food ranged from good to excellent, with the specialty restaurants and ...

Beautiful, scenic Alaskan cruise, well-designed ship, falls short in some areas

We sailed northbound to Seward on Explorer, departing Vancouver. Loved Vancouver as a port; should have done this cruise in opposite direction. The ship is beautiful and well-designed. Pre-cruise package included a night at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, which was gorgeous and had excellent food and service. Transfer of luggage to ship worked seamlessly. We were able to begin boarding the ship at ...

Did not live up to expectations

We chose this cruise because our travel agent talked up the service. What a disappointment! First our return business class air is a disaster. We will have over 12 hours in Vancouver with a red eye to Newark then a five hour layover to get to Philadelphia. We could drive to Philly from Newark faster. For the price of the cruise we shouldn’t have to pay an up charge to get these crappy flights ...

Disappointing at Best

I have cruised Regent almost exclusively for several years. Their level of service, their food quality, and excursions have all declined in quality. I am not sure if this is due to the economy, the fact that Norwegian Cruise Lines is losing money, shortages of staff, or cost-cutting measures. We sailed the subject itinerary. At first, we were given economy air that arrived in Anchorage at ...

Alaska Gone South

This was our re-entry to cruising post-Covid, and we wanted to trying something easy and low risk, i.e. only seven nights. We have been to Alaska before, we have sailed Regent before, and we have sailed on Explorer before. We had hoped it would be as good as before, but I was disappointed by the experience. We don't know if this current experience fell short of expectations because Regent has ...
