Yacht club - good and bad
"In the YC dining room, prime rib was a 3/4 inch ribeye steak of maybe the same quality you'd find in a supermarket.Generally if it was a carb, it was good, and if it was meat or fish, there's only so much you can do with what are objectively low quality proteins...."Read More

Food on MSC- problematic

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on MSC Seaside

The MSC Seaside is a nice enough ship, we saw good entertainment on board, and our excursions purchased through MSC were great. We chose the ship because of the itinerary. The FOOD on MSC, however, was a massive disappointment- our rating score reflects how we feel about our food experience. Both in the Main Dining Room and in the buffet, our food was often not hot enough, bland, or ...

Wonderful cruise if you are reasonable

I picked this cruise because it allowed us to visit 6 ports and by getting creative with excursions, we got to visit 8 islands in a week. We generally had a wonderful time. The food was good at both the main dining room for dinner as well as the buffet. I was generally always able to eat something I liked. They have hot sauce, salt, and pepper in the buffet so you can spice up any food you find ...

Love the ship, but MSC is cutting back!

Well I love seaside , we were cruising on February 2024. It was a different cruise from Guadeloupe than from Miami. Majority of cruisers were French , English was the minority. They actually told us one day in the guest services line we were in the French line up! What!!! I was taken to another service desk. Lol. Glad I did the port stops but won't do it again. (Stops were, Dominica, St ...

MSC Was Great For Me

Despite the negative reviews of MSC I chose to cruise on the Seaside because the Caribbean/Antilles itinerary was exactly what I was looking for. 6 Islands in 7 days. I booked an MSC excursion in each port and found the guides to be friendly, informative and fun. I had especially been looking forward to the Botanical Gardens and beach tour in Guadeloupe because I really enjoy the British detective ...

Never again with MSC

The MDR was awful. Too many people crammed in. No room for the waiters to work. Terrible menus and awful food (quality and portion size). My wife had runny paella one evening and it came with one shrimp and an unopened mussel. When she complained that the mussel was probably bad the Head Waiter brought her three more unopened mussels! We only went about five times out of fourteen. The buffet ...

We (2 adults) chose this cruise specifically for the date (it fit our calendars) and the ports - Martinique, Guadaloupe, St Lucia, Barbados, St Vincent & Grenada). I was a bit hesitant because of all the negative reviews but WOW! We did not have a single complaint. Nice cabin (comfortable bed, veranda and full size couch.) The food was good at both the dining room and buffet BUT the ...

Overpriced for what it is

- boring ship. Activities are minimal. And when they do happen they are sub par - pools shut down at 8. Hot tubs not actually hot. - staffing seems low. They have the employees but they hangout like they’re are friends chit chatting while not caring for guests. - the emergency training meetings was a joke. When to the theatre to be told we had to go back to room to watch the video. Many ...

Less luxurious, more like mediocre.

We chose this cruise line as we had previously been on a few P & O cruises and felt that they had become more about quantity than quality. Our local travel agent recommended MSC and whilst P & O were offering a similar cruise at 3 times less than the price we paid, we booked a Christmas experience. Well, it certainly was an experience unfortunately, not of the great type. We embarked with ...

What on earth are people moaning about ?

If you read the reviews this ship you would hesitate to book . But I can honestly tell you that the negatives are either very unlucky or habitual moaners and whingers ( I suspect the latter ) We had a superb Christmas cruise around the Caribbean ….loved the itinerary where you sail from one island to the next through the night and have a full day off the ship exploring . Seaside is a ...

Noisy ship, poor entertainment and food

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on MSC Seaside

This was our 6th cruise with MSC. 2,700 passengers boarded each week in Martinique. Over 1000 boarded in Guadalupe and the remainder in Barbados. About 75% of the passengers spoke French and the evening entertainment especially in the atrium was specifically for these guests. The food in the buffet was repetitive with a lot less choice than on previous MSC cruises. Outside the deck 8 buffet there ...
