We chose Norwegian Bliss as it was the newest ship in their fleet. We had been on most of the Breakaway class ships with the exception NCL Joy and wanted to explore this ship. Bliss was the best in design by far. Even though there were more than 3000 passengers, the ship never felt very crowded. Norwegian has figured out how to maximize the space without having compensate for it somewhere else. I enjoyed the observation lounge where we had some quiet time during the day and also where we enjoyed the views as the ship sailed smoothly in and out of our destinations. It was also a great place to have a snack without the hustle and bustle of the Garden Cafe. Norwegian has also thought about the smoking in the casino area and has put up a glass partition for the smoking players. Our inside cabin was well designed and even though it was small, we managed to do fine without bumping into each other. There weren't many clothes drawers but ample wardrobe space. We enjoyed the shows "Havana" and "Jersey Boys" but the theater filled up quickly, so it was best to arrive about 20 mins before the show. The Beatles tribute band was also entertaining and they played most of their hits. The cruise director and his staff were great and we participated in the daily activities such as trivia, towel folding and origami. The evening games shows were so funny and entertaining that time just flew by. The food was good and we tried The Local for the daily dinner special and stopped by for "pub grub" when we were in need of a snack. The great thing was that we could get hot food 24/7. The Garden Cafe was buffet style and it offered many choices. We generally stopped there for breakfast but used the main dining rooms for dinner. The main dining rooms were Taste and Savor and we went there on a number of occasions. Whilst the food was high in quality, I felt that it could have been a bit warmer. We also tried Cagney's which was a steakhouse and La Cucina which was Italian. Both were very good. All in all, we enjoyed this cruise very much and would definitely take the Bliss again. Well done Norwegian! Read Less

New ship. New look. Great time everything was easily assessable. Food was to die for something for everyone. Drinks were everywhere Could use more somking areas. Will be looking for another Norwegian Cruise to Alaska. Our Steward took great care of us. Even the Birthday cake and decorations for my wife was welcome. I think I gained 10 pounds!!!!! I will have to go back and try to lose it!!! Hardly no waiting lines for dinners. Restaurants were all very abliging. Took very good care of us. The Japanese Steakhouse provided great entertainment The Steakhouse steak didn’t need a knife to cut with. The Seafood restaurant had scallops that were out of this world. And I didn’t find any deserts I didn’t like The Casino was my favorite place was a winner and a player of tournaments. Lots of entertainment. All of the bartenders worked hard to keep you happy. Tried many new drinks that I never heard of. Didn’t find any I didn’t like. Lol Read Less

I am Elite on Princess (40 sailings) but wanted a bit more excitement than they offer and I have frequently sailed on Celebrity. I've sailed on Norwegian (Pearl, Epic, Gateaway and Bliss) four times. I was traveling with a group of 16 and the group wanted a fun-time with a younger environment so we selected the Bliss. I was most excited to sail on the Bliss. The Bliss is a beautiful ship with a wonderful observation area on 15, staterooms are beautiful, disembarkation and embarkation was the best of any cruise. The Bliss is very clean and the staff was wonderful. My stateroom was on deck 14 two floors below deck 16 which is often times referred to as the Lido deck on other ships. I could hear the music starting around 11:00 am and ending around 12:00 or later every evening. Never an opportunity for nap if you are a light sleeper-- music mostly all day and night. I experienced a squeaking/knocking sound coming from the sliding door for better than fours days before I called the Customer Service Desk which they repaid and sent a wonderful gift for any inconvenience this may have caused. I was not able to see any shows due to no open reservation (you have to make a reservation) or partake in the racing cars because they were booked up quickly or only late night appointments were available. The one treat that I love most on all Norwegian cruises is the coconut sherbet. To my disappointment they had no coconut sherbet. The food on the buffet was average although the oxtails and chicken gumbo was outstanding. Seating in what they call the Garden Cafe was a bit of a challenge during lunch and breakfast but you would eventually find a place as on most ships. The Fitness Center was outstanding with wonderful hours. You can get on the treadmill at 6:00 am. With all side I would sail again staying on a lower deck away from deck 16 and making reservation as soon as i get on the ship. Read Less

Our family just went on the NCL Bliss for the 11/24 sailing out of Miami. I wanted to share some of my opinions about this cruise. Cabin – We had a balcony cabin on the 10th floor, mid ship. I have to say with 2 adults and 1 child in the room, it was spacious. The shower space was great too. The balcony was nice. Steward – Danilo was excellent. One of the best we have ever had. Boat – The Bliss is a beautiful ship. Everything is so new and nice. To us, the boat never felt crowded. Elevators – This was the only negative to the boat. Eventhough the boat never felt crowded, the elevators took forever to come. I don’t understand why some buttons control some elevators and won’t call other elevators. You press a button and it lights up 2 elevators, but then you go press the other button, it lights up 4 elevators. It just didn’t have a good flow and was an issue at times, but not that big of a deal. Better to just grab one when you can and go for a ride. MDRs – Were excellent. We thought the menus were great and the food was fantastic. The servers are hit or miss, but he food was excellent. Cagney’s – Ribeye was back on the menu. This was our choice. It was very good. The potatoes au gratin was fantastic. Teppanyaki – Always a great experience. The amount of food is ridiculous. The chefs are great. Q – By far the best restaurant food we had. Our whole party thought everything was so good here. The chili is the best. The brisket was amazing. The grits were great. I have to say that one of the best desserts I have ever had is the bread pudding from here. (Ask them to put a scoop of vanilla on there as well). It was out of this world. Buffet – I am not a huge buffet fan, but this one was nice and clean looking. Pretty good food or quick snacks here. Pool/Kid’s Aqua Park – My son had a blast in the kid’s aqua park. He went up and down the slide at least 100 times. It was fun for all of us. The pool next to the park was nice, but tough to get in and out. Salt water and pretty cold water. This is what I don’t understand. Why don’t you heat the water a little? It was freezing. Slides – The tube slide was fun. There was an accident on the fast slide and they pretty much shut it down for the length of the cruise. No biggie. Mini golf – We had fun here too. Only 5 holes but nice. Also, nice view of go karts from here. Go Karts/Laser – My son is too young to enjoy these, so I’ll wait until he is old enough. No biggie. I was really impressed how quiet the go karts were. Awesome. Jersey Boys – This was really the only show we saw since our son fell asleep right before the 1030 show. It was very good. I have seen the show in Vegas and it’s almost as good. Embarkation/Disembarkation – Very quick and easy UBP – This was fantastic. We tried so many drinks that we normally wouldn’t try. I loved it and worth it as a perk. No brainer. Summary – The Bliss is a great ship. We are doing an Alaska cruise next year as well on the Bliss. The Observation Lounge is incredible. What a great boat and a great vacation. Read Less

Went on this cruise for the grand kids to use the go cart track and the Bliss did not live up to our expectations. The ship was very big with lots of walking and small elevators. Elevators are grouped forward and aft. It seemed like the dining staff was over whelmed and short of people. Supervisors were serving and clearing tables in the 3 dinner rooms. It appears NCL is trying to push people to eat where it costs more to improve profits. I ordered a meal from the Local and it arrived wrong and cold. I could not get a new order because nobody came back to check on us. We took the dolphin excursion to Atlantis and ended up fending for ourselves to get to the dolphin encounter. Atlantis is spread out so more walking to find things. We had a good time but disappointed in getting there. Read Less

Overall the Bliss is a fantastic ship. The pros so much to do lots of entertainment music dancing shows etc...Silias was an awesome cruise director... cons venues are small not enough free activities for teens staff is stretched thin. Food was better in the MDR than speciality restaurant. Pool and waterslides closed at 600pm. However hot tubs are open. Teen curfew is 100am which I have no issues with however the Local will not serve a teen a meal after midnight without a parent. This is stated nowhere. If you want to ride the go carts or watch any of the shows make reservations day one. We arrived in port at 9am was on the ship by 1115am. Boarding group 1 and vibe was already sold out. I stayed on deck 8 only heard the theater once 2nd showing of Havanna but it wasn't loud just occasionally. Overall I would not book this ship again. Read Less

We just got off the Bliss after a great week in the carribean including great weather. The Bliss proved to be a ship of contrasts. Some things were great and other things not so much. We we in a basic balcony cabin near the back of the ship. Firstly the great things; the ship is new and everything seemed to work well and the ship is quiet (little engine noise and vibration). The food is on average exceptionally good, especially in the buffet. The service is also very good. The water tasted quite good and there is a number of flavoured drinks available all the time, including sugarless ones that were very good. The numerous shows were exceptional (especially Jersey Boys) but need to be booked as early as you can to ensure you will get in on the date and time you want. There are standby spots for people booked who don't show up. While only two sets of elevators for this very long ship, you could always get one quickly as they are new and fast. There is a Starbucks on board and lots of nice comfortable places to sit inside the ship and find a drink or entertainment. Now for the not so good; we could hear voices in the cabin next door pretty regularly. The bathroom is the biggest we have seen on this class of ship but for this you give up closet space. If your cabin has a large couch next to the closet you have to little space between the end of the couch and the closet. There is a couple of cabinets near the tv but only two large drawers under the couch and filled with pillows and extra comforter so maybe you can sqeeze your clothes in them but just maybe! The cabinets on each side of the bed are extremely tiny unless you get one bigger one like our friends did, we got two tiny ones. The adult pool was nice but on sea days we couldn't get near it from all the passengers sitting all around who obviously got the drink package as their free perk. The hot tubs were a better as there are five of them on the upper deck above the pools. There is a kids pool too The race track was neat (and the kids will love the laser tag facility) but does take up so much room that there are few places to find quiet spots to find a lounger unless you splurge for "the haven". We tried two specialty restaurants and Le bistro was great but Cagneys was a disappointment. There are quiet a few other specialty reastaurnts but we didn't try the others. Margaritaville seemed empty most of the time when we went by and may have been due to the cover charge. The casino was spacious but a bit too smokey in the evening for us. Embarkation and debarkation went well for us, and we did have a nice cruise on the Bliss but a few issues meant we couldn't give this ship top marks. Tip. You can't punch a hole in your card for a lanyard as the card will stop working, so bring a lanyard with the plastic casing for your card. Read Less

We went to 3 ports, weather was perfect. Entertainment was great, don't miss the Beatles tribute band. the Columbian band Blue four, not sure now of their name, but they were great, heard and saw them many times on the cruise and each time they did different sets. We could barely feel the ship moving. the staff was very nice, took care of all our needs and they were very polite. I would have stayed on for another week if i had the time off. Very relaxing, my wife had the massage at the spa, she really enjoyed that. So many specialty bars all with top self liquor. highly recommend this crise line and specifically the Norwegian Bliss! My wife and I are 68. Enough said. We didn't participate in the men's "abs" contest and my wife didn't participate in the women's "guns" contest but they looked like fun. The ship is beautiful, very well designed to accommodate the huge number of passengers and never feeling overcrowded. We ate in specialty restaurants 5 of the 7 nights. Ocean Blu, Le Bistro and Cagneys are fantastic. Q Smokehouse was pretty good. the Local offered a prime rib dinner on the first night (no extra cost) that was delicious. We ate breakfast and lunch in the garden cafe, the buffet. The food was very good and varied, and the layout of the buffet on this ship is such that there are many separate stations for food, maybe >20, so there's no waiting in line while an indecisive diner wonders whether (s)he wants 3 slices of bacon or 4! We attended the specialty entertainment - Jersey Boys, Havana, Beatlemania and they were all excellent. 3 other bands and 2 piano bar singers were also excellent. Comedians, not so much. We avoided the commotion of the main pool but found very comfortable couches on the promenade deck (8) to sit, relax, read, nap! and enjoy the view peacefully. The cabin was very well designed, pretty spacious, and had lots of closet and drawer space. Overall, an excellent experience. Read Less

New ship. Restaurants were fantastic, however the staff was overwhelmed and overworked The ship is very large 4000 passengers. All areas are too small to accommodate this Large population. The cabin was small but the shower was large & great. The Entertainment was adequate one show Jersey Boys great, also the comedy shows Were good. It seems like there was always something going on in the atrium at Night. The ship was very quite after midnight, since most bars close at 11pm. Our embarkation was handled very politely, since a wheelchair assistance was necessary. Disembarkation was very quick and easy. Wheelchair wait time was very long, so We walked very slowly (all downhill) to our luggage and customs Our shore excursions were self directed. We have been to all ports before and knew Where we wanted go! Our best investment was the week spa pass. The spa offered A therascic pool, steam rooms, salt room hot tubs warm lounges and comfortable Lounging chairs. For an additional charge every spa activity from massage therapy to manicure was available. Although, the physical looks of the Bliss are beautiful, I really do not think we will Sail this very large ship. Read Less

With all of the new things onboard for the guest to use and experience there is no way for anyone to be bored. Then you throw in the shows that their is on board, The Jersey Boys is the best one that I have seen on the ships. There were great and good one on the other ships but this one is hard to beat. The Observation Deck is out of this world. I could have just set in there for the whole cruise. I did not eat in the main dining rooms as I had a specialty dining package. Food in those venues was hit or miss. Cagney's and Los Lobos were great. Le Bistro was okay and La Cucina was awful. I went with a girlfriend and we had a blast. We went on excursions at each island and enjoyed our days on ship taking advantage of the gym, pool and trivia games. Getting on/off the ship does take some time, but it was very well organized. The ship is large and requires a lot of walking, but directions are fairly well labeled. We took advantage of the interactive computers on each floor to find entertainment and dining options. Customer service was helpful for room issues and excursions were easy to schedule at the desk or via TV in the room. Entertainment was top notch! Bands were great, shows were amazing. Beatles tribute band was excellent. Enjoyed the buffet and a few restaurants. Good selection of food, but waited around 10 minutes at the bar for most drinks. The gym was very busy and cramped. Plenty of lounge chairs, bu the pool was very small - super crowded. Overall a great trip. Will be cruising with Norwegian again! Read Less

Choose this cruise because the Norwegian Bliss is a new ship with excellent reviews. My daughter and I being bitten by bed bugs, having to go to the doctor twice, receiving 4 medications, including 2 for itching and 1 for pain, transferred to another cabin, having all our clothes, belongings, luggage taken away, steamed with hot water, shrunk, destroyed, some never returned turned an otherwise positive happy experience into an nightmare. Not only was our cruise miserable but it also effected our after cruise stay in Miami. At first everything was great, embarking was relatively fast and smooth. Our cabin was great, large picture window on Deck 5. The food is excellent, kitchen staff assigned to assist with prevention of germs (washi-washi), cabin steward great. The ship is beautiful. On the third day we asked how the couch let out. ..laid on couch later at dinner started itching daughter had red bite marks on arm me on face. Went to sleep in cabin awaken by biting bugs. When I sat up the bug crawled over your shoulder. I knicked it off, landed on table and we trapped it under a glass. I had red welts and bites on neck arms chest thighs and feet. we called Guest Services they came out and a ship staff inspected the bug and said yes it was a bed bug. What happened next is above. It was horrible and sad and totally PREVENTABLE. they should check for bugs daily! We still haven't brought our luggage into the house. Read Less

We have cruised approximately 15 times in our lives and choose Norwegian as last year we sailed on Norwegian Escape for the first time on the Norwegian line and absolutely loved everything about it. Because of that experience, we booked the Bliss as it was Norwegian's newest ship. Overall the ship is beautiful but the difference between the Bliss and the Escape was the crew. The majority of the crew was not friendly and did not seem to want to be there. You rarely saw the cruise director although you saw the assistant a lot. Food was very good but service in the restaurants was extremely slow or missing including the specialty restaurants. Some meals took over three and a half hours and you had to beg to get your water glasses filled and another drink. On the Escape the Captain and his staff would walk around and talk to the passengers and engage them in conversation. On the Bliss the Captain and his staff was non-existent. The post cruise survey was very directed and didn't really ask for comments or details on each section which made it very hard to give constructive criticism. We will give Norwegian one more try to see if it was just this ship. Read Less

We love NCL! This was our 10th cruise with NCL. We got engaged and then later married on the Sun. Embarkation and disembarking went very smoothly. This trip we were on the new Bliss! What a fantastic ship! The crew is just amazing! They are the ones that made our vacation unforgettable! They truly care and want you to thoroughly enjoy yourself. We had met Jovo, the hotel director and Pam, his awesome secretary on our previous trips on the Escape and were delighted to see them on the Bliss. They welcomed us “home” with open arms. We were so thankful that we met Charles, the asst food and beverage director. In chatting with him, we discovered that he made our wedding cake on the Sun! We were bragging about how delicious the cake was. He arranged to have a wedding memory cake made and delivered to our room. It was so beautiful and very thoughtful of him. We shared the cake with the surrounding tables in the Taste Restaurant. Each crew member that we encountered thruout our two weeks on board was amazing! Greeting us with smiles, assisting us whatever way they could ! Wade, Rommel and Michael were super fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed The Jersey Boys and Havana Productions. There also are some amazingly talented crew members that performed during the talent show. The food in the Garden Cafe is great. No need to visit the speciality restaurants - but we did just to try them. And again, food was tasty and service was super quick, and attentive. We love our dark interior room. The sun does not wake us! The observation deck was a new treat! Very relaxing and neat way to take in the scenery! We took the St John’s land tour which again was wonderful! The Island Girl Ferry Team was informative and friendly as was Kevin our jeep driver! Would recommend exploring this ! We feel like we are part of the NCL family each time we cruise with them. They make us feel very special! There is no better way to enjoy a vacation and it is great on the budget also! We will be cruising again soon as we purchased 6 Cruisenext certificates ! They had a super deal that we took advantage of. We now have three NCL cruises booked for 2019. Excited to try the Encore in November, but will check out the Jade again for a super 10 day cruise to the Southern Caribbean first. We will finish our year on the Breakaway. Treat yourself and family to an amazing time on a NCL vacation! You will not regret it ! Read Less

While the observation deck on this ship was wonderful, it is not their best ship. The observation deck was on Deck 15 and very nice. You could lay there in comfortable lounges to read a book, what the views leaving the port or what ever suited you. It was quiet and clean. The entertainment staff on this ship was EXCEPTIONAL! A lot fun, laughter, and friendly people! Cagney's steakhouse had awesome food! The ribeye is the best I have had in a long time. This ship has an adults only pool (no offense to anyone) which I thought was GREAT! The cabins are normal size, we had a balcony, but seemed to have more storage then on other ships. Our room steward was nice and friendly but we had to continually ask for towels. The pool waiters were rude and slow. Some of the staff all over the ship were not very friendly at all. Especially in the Manhattan restaurant. The food was very good, when it was finally served to you. The NCL app is worthless. Worked once the entire 7 day cruise. A lot of passengers had the same issue. The bottle water policy is the worst. They only give you one liter bottles that barely fit in the frig. This ship was totally understaffed. It was a pretty ship but I stil think the best ship is the Getaway. Read Less

We took a 7 day out of Miami. This is our 6th cruise and second on NCL. Here are my impressions. The good We arrived via privately arranged transport around 1pm. This was the fastest embarking on any ship we have been on. We carried our bags off the last day and that was the easiest disembarkation we have seen. I’m not sure what previous people are complaining about with respect to the staff as we found everyone we dealt with friendly and easy to deal with. I’m convinced people just like to complain. The food was good. We ate 3 meals in Manhattan and 3 specialty meals as well as the buffet. Again not sure what people complained about with respect to the buffet. Yes, it was busy but I never had to wait long for food and it was the best we’ve had at sea. Plenty of choices. Really liked the noodle station at lunch and the cheese platter. It’s the cruisers that are the issueup there. People are piggies, eating with their fingers, reusing plates, and filling water bottles directly from the water dispenser despite the signage. Yuck. The Mexican restaurant is the best in my opinion ( we also ate at Q and Le Bistro). Portions are way too large and I could not finish what I ordered but it was all really good. Hubs loved the empanadas. The mohito bar is excellent. Great staff. If you get the drink package check it out. The cruise staff and programs are very good. We hate shows so I can’t rate that but we love trivia and they handed out comparatively decent prizes. Cute game shows. During the last dinner at Manhattan, an officer came and elicited feedback on our experience. I like the fact that we were asked several times over the 7 days how we felt the trip was. The observation area was never hard to get a seat in. The comfy loungers do fill up fast but we always found a spot to read. Again, I think it’s more an issue with fellow passengers who hog the nicest spots and sleep for hours. The bad I say bad but none of this ruined our experience in any way. The Life boat drill did not require bringing your vest and was pretty casual. If there was an emergency, I’m convinced half the people on that ship would die. I’m not sure how you convince 4000 passengers to pay attention and report to the right place but it didn’t make me feel confident. One thing they should fix is the log jam in the center of the ship when you first get on. Everyone is driven into an area near the pub and elevators. My sister got wedged into some game machines by jerks pressing to get through and stubbed her toe. There isn’t enough space in that area for hundreds of people looking for elevators. I am a gambler. The slots are very tight and payout tables are NOT comparable with your local casino. Be prepared to lose and lose fast. If you are a smoker, your choices are limited. We don’t smoke but my sister does and unless your cabin is near the top, expect to walk to puff. She complained about that set up. We always book the thermal suite. It’s not a quiet space and the lights are left on. It would be much better if they enforced quiet ( people on phone calls and hooting and hollering in the pool, chatting in groups in the sauna). People should expect a spa is meant for people to relax in peace. So many inconsiderate jerks booked the suite on this cruise. I also hate the pool is in the same area as the warm stone benches. People run the big waterfall thing and it forces everyone in that area to shout to be heard, adding to the noise. All in all, was a relaxing, casual cruise. We didn’t spend any more that we normally do (another complaint I read about before booking). We really enjoyed Bliss and are considering booking again to go to Alaska. Read Less

My wife and I are experienced cruisers having taken over 75 cruises overall and 7 this year alone including 3 cruises on NCL, 2 on Celebrity, and 1 each on Holland America and Princess. Our recent cruise on the NCL Bliss was, without a doubt, not only the best cruise this year but, quite possibly, our best cruise ever. The food was very good, equal or superior to every other cruise line. The entertainment was first class, equal or superior to every other cruise line. The cabin was excellent as was cabin service. The casino was exceptional, far better than any other ship and near the quality of a land-based facility. But the rating was due primarily to the fact that the personal service and attention that we received throughout the ship was flawless. Every member of the staff was friendly and attentive and many went out of their way to personally ensure our comfort and satisfaction. We have high status as frequent cruisers on several cruise lines so I do not believe that was the deciding factor. In fact, we are "Elite" members of Princess Captain's Circle program and on our last Princess cruise it appeared to us that they could not care less about our status. Rather, it would seem to be an attitude of NCL from the top of the corporate structure through each and every employee that the most important factor to them is the satisfaction of their guests. Here is our rating of cruises this year: #1 - NCL Bliss 12/1/18 #2 - NCL Bliss 8/11/18 #3 - Celebrity Constellation 5/28/18 #4 - NCL Sun 9/9/18 #5 - Celebrity Infinity 10/28/18 (The above 5 were "very good" to "excellent") #6 - Holland Oosterdam 12/15/18 #7 - Caribbean Princess 8/25/18 (#6 above was only marginally acceptable with the good parts resulting from our booking a suite which provided a concierge lounge and private dining for breakfast; #7 was completely unacceptable in almost every aspect). P.S. We are in the process of booking yet another cruise on the NCL Bliss this Spring. Read Less

We chose this cruise due to timing and itinerary. Also, having sailed several smaller ships, wanted to try a mega. My review is based on prior experience on smaller ships, so I’m not sure if I should have been surprised. First, I’m a fan of the freestyle dining and give very high marks to “Q” which was the best food on the ship. This could be an industry change, but all “included” meals did not match the quality I’ve experienced on RCC or HAC. Outside of Coco’s, which is phenomenal, I found the desserts to be disappointing, Loved the race track but would never do it more than once. The music/entertainment is outstanding. Especially recommend the Beatles cover band and 4Blue. My biggest disappointments involve the lack of service and personalized attention I have grown accustomed to. Other than the first day, did I ever experience anyone walking around with drink service. Regular restaurant service was poor and the sentiment of staff felt like they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. Several food orders wrong, which I can accept, except recovery also failed. Sat at many tables just waiting to be acknowledged by wait staff or brought coffee or refills. Let’s talk about the unlimited drink package: strange that includes all drinks up to $15.00, but not plain orange juice, water or coffee. Definitely felt like non-drinkers were on the wrong boat. Watch your pours at the bar: I had to take a breathalyzer test due to an accident and it registered 0.00, after 2 mojitos. They tasted good, but what was in them? Line does efficient job with getting on and off the boat, and muster drill was also super efficient - best one yet. Cabin was lovely and space used efficiently. First time on a cruise I had storage space I didn’t use. 11th floor balcony room with double sink. Steward was very good at securing eggcrate mattress topper to add comfort. Overall, the ship is stunning and allows for many places to explore and enjoy. But if you are wanting service and expect folks to assist you, choose another. It’s really ashame as basic training and English lessons could improve the customer experience 10x fold. Read Less

So many choices! Two 20-something sons & I chose this ship primarily due to sailing date & itinerary, but discovered the ship itself was a worthy destination. The onboard entertainment was professional caliber and there was something every day to scratch each of our itches, including several that we all enjoyed together—the comedy club, “Happy Hour—The Musical” had us especially in stitches, “Jersey Boys,” and the Beatles tribute band took me back—they were spot on. There was dancing under the stars every night and felt welcoming to every age (21 & up), shape & size. NCL’s activities director & staff on The Bliss were a fun & lively, attentive group. I had a balcony room that felt spacious relative to what I’d anticipated, and each of my sons had one of the beautiful single studios. They are in a secure, locked area (with key-card access) with their own lounge—perfect for meeting other solo travelers. I was concerned I was booking them “closets,” but they are efficiently designed to provide space & comfort. I will book one for myself in the future. The “virtual windows” provide a lovely “view”—I don’t feel I would be missing anything. Embarkation was well organized and ran smoothly, better than my prior experience on another cruise line. From the moment we boarded, plenty of venues were open, so there was no waiting around for luggage. We got right to the fun! The only reason I’m dinging it one star is that there was constant pressure to buy—in fact several of their “seminars” were simply high-pressure sales pitches. While I would joyfully sail this ship again, I would avoid all of those “activities.” We booked our shore excursions through NCL and were glad we did! In one port, after a fun day touring & zip lining, we came upon a vehicle accident just before reaching the port. Our driver, so familiar with his home island, took us for another whole adventure on dirt roads & through alleys finding his way to the other side of the port. We arrived before the ship sailed, but had not been worried since we’d booked through NCL and knew the ship would be held for us. No stress, just an extra adventure & another view from the island! We had so much fun and were so impressed with NCL’s Bliss, another son and I are heading to Hawaii on their Pride of America next month. The ship is smaller, but if the service, food and excursions measure up to this past trip, we’ll be satisfied cruisers again! Read Less

We chose this cruise because it is a new ship. Embark was flawless and quick. Food was very good on the included restaurants. On the specialty restaurants, Cagney's service was lacking oe day, but was excellent the second day we visited. I could not get a medium rare filet for anything, but the prime rib was perfect. The server makes a big difference on your Cagney experience. The bistro serves a great rack of lamb. Los Lobos has an excellent guacmole prepared by table side to your liking. in The balcony cabin was on the small side but adequate. The cabin shower was roomy, it passed the the bend over to pick up a soap from the floor test. The spa is excellent. Dancing music was excellent. Wifi was not very reliable. Pool area crowded, but pool itself was very nice. Drinks are very expensive and the wine list poor. Over all avery nice cruise experience. Read Less

My MIL actually booked this cruise and asked us to join her. She loves new ships! This was my 7th cruise. Silas was AWESOME! Best cruise director that I have EVER seen! Jersey Boys was the BEST show that I have ever seen on either land or sea! THE BEST EVER !!!!! Cast was PERFECT! The drinks were great! Food was good--some very good. We did all complimentary dining. My MIL is used to traditional dining, so we requested the same server each night in the Manhattan Room, which worked out perfectly. Her name was Delora Ansale and she was awesome! Her helper Dave Perez was also great! The dress on the ship is nice casual. You don't even need to pack a dress if you don't want to wear one,but some people still did dress up a few nights. The ship has a fun party atmosphere--not crazy though, just fun. I love to dance! I was happy to see the Christmas decorations on the ship and that holiday music was almost always being played quietly in the background sound system. The Observation Lounge was beautiful! So nice to have a quiet, comfy place to relax on a ship. The officers and staff want you to be happy. If there is something that is not right or that you aren't happy with, send one of the managers a note to explain and they will take care of it. Don't just try to ignore it and/or complain about it without notifying the head staff people. They want to make it right. They want us to be happy so that we cruise with them again. I did miss not having a ropes course, but the ship was so pretty! I had so much fun! I did not want to leave the ship. Things to know: If the elevator makes 2 dings, it is heading down. One ding means it's going up. When trying to get soap or paper towels from automatic dispensers, be sure to cup your hand as shown on the dispenser. You can ask for the same server each night in the Manhattan Room to get that traditional dining feeling. Embarkation: We arrived at about 12:30, and it was crowded but kept moving. I prefer arriving early, but we took a bus from Tampa, which took 6 hours. Ugh. Read Less

This was our first cruise with Norwegian, and the Bliss was our favorite ship ever. It was a very new ship. Though its a very big ship, it never felt overly crowded. We loved the shows. We visited two specialty restaurants. Cagneys was our favorite. La Cucina was just ok. At the Manhattan, our server just forgot us after dinner, so we gave up waiting to get dessert. The Buffet was the best Ive experienced on a cruise ship. We've been on Disney, Carnival and Royal caribbean. We Loved Tortola, excrusion to Virgin Gorda. Loved the food. This was a great time of year to go as there were few kids onboard, which we wanted because this was an anniversary trip ( we love kids, we have kids, but just not for this trip). A lot of the crowd were 40=50's, though there were some younger families. Would love to go on the bliss again! Read Less
