I decided to go on a solo cruise for the first time. I wanted it to be more than 7 days and I liked the itinerary for the Bliss from Los Angeles to Miami. I started with an interior room and upgraded to an oceanview and received the promotional bonus for that ($50 off each excursion, 2 free speciality dining offers & 300 free wifi minutes).
Embarkation in LA was not bad. I arrived at the ...
Overall, the cruise was enjoyable. The crew did their best despite recent staffing cuts. Ship’s officers (with a few exceptions) appeared wanting. One of the notable positive exceptions was Marites Sonza, who appeared to be everywhere attempting to make sure everything was flowing smoothly!
A great itinerary was reduced by two desirable port calls being eliminated (explanation sounded like ...
The NCL Bliss exceeded our expectations and is an upgrade f.i. compared with the NCL Getaway. It is a busy ship, but restaurants and pools are always accessable without waiting. Lots of loungers available at the pool, even on seedays!
Dining is a very nice experience, we special liked dining at Los Lobos, Ocean Blue and Cagney's. Complementary dining at Savor or Taste was nice, good menu's ...
We recently sailed on the bliss through the Panama Canal. From L.A. to Miami.
Norwegian picked us up at the airport. The Staff were still learning the ropes. Some confusion about where to board the bus to the ship. Had to walk to a second area to reach the bus. Only one person was injured boarding the bus.
As usual there were a lot of people waiting to board the ship. Embarking was not ...
We sailed on the Bliss Jan 22/23 Los Angeles Round trip. The rumour was the boat was well over standard occupancy and was around 4700 people.
Let’s start with the positives. Our room was outstanding, we have a four year old so we opted for the family ocean view room on deck five close to the kids club. This room is very spacious, well thought out storage and design wise and comes with a bath ...
This was our 3rd or 4th NCL cruise and we were on the sister ship of this one back in Feb of 2020. But the experience this time was terrible. Embarkation was the most frustrating ever. We waited in long lines out in the sun for a couple of hours with no info from any NCL staff or port staff. No idea which line was the right one. No idea what the delay was. Extremely confusing and ...
The cruise was the worst cruise we have ever taken. I’ve been on many cruises with Norwegian and this was horrible. My partner got was sick from the food at Cagney's, the salad, and they denied it and the front desk staff didn't care, we were at sea. We didn’t bring our own food. The lettuce at the buffet disappeared the next day on the ship until we reach Ensenada, there were only the toppings ...
We picked this cruise because we've never done a west coast before. Never again
Let us start with the embarkment process. Our time was 11 am and we arrived at 10:45 am. We waited outside in the Sun for 3 hours before we could get on the ship. We have done over 10 cruises with other cruise lines and 3 or 4 with NCL. Never seen anything like this. The line to get on the ship was longer than ...
My wife got a "free" cruise promotionn through the casino. It cost $3000. The "Free at Sea" promotion is a bad joke. We paid an extra $400 to use their airline reservations from Detroit to Miami. What we got was a Southwest flight with a 3 hour layover in Chicago, that eventually got us to Fort Lauderdale (and a need to get a $25/person transfer), and a return Delta flight that leaves from Fort ...
This cruise was tied to our dream trip to see the Rose Bowl Parade in person. We got a great price for the Haven suite. The food was outstanding (we do not partake of the general buffet) and the speciality restaurants were fantastic. My only food complaint (and I made this known to NCL) was that the dinner menu in The Haven never changed. That is why we chose a speciality restaurant 3 times ...
