My Favorite Things: Having our cabin right down the hall from the Observation Lounge----that is a BEAUTIFUL area & we used it more than I thought we would. It has a gorgeous bar in there as well as food available most of the day. And the views from there.......were breathtaking. The Entertainment was TOP NOTCH. Every live band we heard was amazing. We enjoyed seeing JERSEY BOYS, and the BEATLES cover band at the Cavern Club were great. Our favorite was HAPPY HOUR the MUSICAL Prohibition Days........what a super fun interactive musical with top notch singing and dancing. The Q Restaurant: Food was great, but the Smoked Peach Margaritas were the best drink on the ship. MARGARITAVILLE AT SEA: spent an afternoon there........good food and margaritas. Wish it were open for dinner at night also. Spice H2O Adult Only Section: was great (except that's where all the smokers are) This became our hang out just because slightly less congested.... wish there was a pool up there also, but we enjoyed the bar there as well as the hot tubs. EXCURSIONS: were all great. Worth every penny. We went to Trunk Bay Beach over on St. John Island and over to Jost Van Dyke Island on our stop at Tortola. My LEAST FAVORITE THINGS: Way too many people in the pool area. That was very discouraging. We took refuge up in the Spice H2O adult only section......which also had way too many people at it.... but that's the way it goes on ship days. I ran into a lot of really grumpy people. Verbally abusing the workers because they couldn't get their drinks fast enough... and one lady chewed me out in the buffet line because i took the last onion ring (omg! she was horribly verbally rude because I guess I was supposed to know she wanted the onion rings!) (p.s. It's a BUFFET; they bring MORE!) The Disembarkation Process was really really chaotic and long.... but we chose to handle our own luggage. Maybe the other process would have been less chaotic. Overall: we had a great time; I would take this exact cruise again in a heart beat :) Read Less

We have been excited for this cruise since we booked it back in November. This was our honeymoon and had everything we wanted in a cruise ship. We were immediately blown away from our check in. From the time we stepped out of our cab and onto the ship qas a total of 8 minutes. We have had multi hour waits before. The ship is beautiful from top to bottom. Modern and elegant but not over the top. We truly loved the Waterfront feature and that was where we gravitated to every night. All the tasty beverages, with the music but without the crowds. The one detractor from this cruise is the Bliss Theater. The entertainment was not to the caliber in which we expected. The theater is built over top of what we can only figure is one of the dance clubs. The late night performances compete with the pulsating sounds below. We literally could not hear Havana over the party going on downstairs. The food was above expectations and we would suggest Specialty Dining for sure...but our best meals were literally in the Manhattan Room. Spa is amazing...but pricey. Room is good. This is a great mid runner between entry level and luxury cruising. Read Less

I have made a habit of cruising NCL out of Miami on the second week of march. Last few years I was on the Escape, this year the Bliss took over the route. I usually show up at the port after lunch after the crowds so enbarcation was a breeze. From curb to stateroom took less than 15 minutes. Not bad on a sold out ship spring break week cruise. The ship is brand new and it shows. It is a nice mature version of the Breakaway class ships. They finally got the main pool deck right, and made the common open spaces larger or at least feel less enclosed. The new observation deck and upgraded Garden Café are absolutely amazing. My cabin was a solo studio and to my surprise they replaced the corridor facing window with a video screen with a live feed from one of the sides of the ship. This is MUCH more useful than the silly useless windows they had on older ships. Included MDR food was some of the best I've had on an NCL ship and the selections in the Garden Café were seriously top notch (a 5000% improvement on what I had on the Getaway). Bar service was fast and efficient, I never had to wait to be served. Entertainment was up to the usual NCL standards, Jersey Boys in the theatre was a fun ride thru history. Game shows and dance parties were fun and well attended thanks to the Cruise Director's staff really going all out. The Beatles cover band put on an exceptional show in the ship's Cavern Club. Travelling in the Solo Studios, I attended the 5pm solo travellers meetups in the Solo Lounge. Our Solo Host nicknamed "Junior" was superb! He organised our dinners, theatre shows, activities like Go Carts and Laser Tag, and encouraged us to attend the game shows and dance parties. Thanks to his great - and fun - personality and always giving 150% we formed a fun group of solo travellers that gelled very well together and most of us have already booked another cruise together on the Escape next year! Ports were St-Thomas, Tortola and Nassau. I scuba dived in St-Thomas and Nassau, snorkelled again in Tortola. The dives were great, the snorkelling in Tortola was ok, but sadly in BVI the reefs have not recovered from hurricane Irma yet. Debarkation was a breeze! They are using a trial of the new debarkation procedure with the Customs and Immigration agents screening passengers ON the ship (they set up a "customs office" in the MDR) so after walking off you just pick up your luggage in the terminal and walk out. It was quick and efficient. I'd say this was my best NCL cruise to date. I've been on a few of their ships and the Bliss kicked it up a notch. Read Less

We arrived in Miami 3 days prior to our Cruise to take advantage of cheap airfare and to give us a greater time buffer in case of travel difficulties. All went smooth. We stayed again at the Holiday Inn downtown for the three nights. An older hotel but nice staff and a great location. Across the street from Bayside Market Place which is a great place to spend time. Many shops, restaurants and water tours. Also a quick cab ride away from the Cruise terminal on embarkation day. If there is a game, also a two block walk from the Miami Heat basketball arena. We arrived a little early on embarkation day but were on the ship by 11:00. The terminal is older but the new terminal is supposed to be done sometime this fall and so far looks impressive. Having cruised on the Getaway and three times on the Escape, we were pretty well acquainted with the basic layout, which is similar. NCL must read these reviews, however, as there were several significant improvements over her sister ships. Most notably, the often criticized smoke smell from the casino has been well addressed with an enclosed smoking area within the casino. I really liked the buffet in the front of the ship vs. the rear placement on the other ships. A great view there, and also from the observation area, one deck below. I also liked that they moved the Le Bistro restaurant from the mid deck to the area previously used as a teen club and arcade. I liked that they moved these areas downstairs, next to the other youth facilities. The Go Carts were a blast and I see that there will be a larger version with some of the track extending over the edge of the ship on the upcoming Encore. A word of caution, however. We got splattered by specks of "black rain" while waiting for our turn to drive. If the wind is pushing the ships funnel exhaust over that area, beware and wear old and or dark colored t-shirts. I got about 20 splatters on my white shirt. We ate at Savor, Taste, the buffet, and The Local for the complementary restaurants. All very good with great service. We also enjoyed the specialty restaurants Los Lobos (Mexican), Cagneys (steakhouse), and Ocean Blue (seafood). All exceeded our expectations for quality, presentation and service. A true treat for someone like me who is not too fussy.... I read many of the other reviews on the ship prior to sailing. I found the staff from top to bottom well groomed, trained and extremely pleasant and helpful. We had the good fortune of meeting the assistant bar manager Haide Balon and Hotel Director's Secretary Kathleen Francisco. Both of them followed up with us several times to make sure we were happy and having a great cruise. We also were very happy to be able to see our good friends and great bartenders Rommel and Michael. These guys are great! My suggestion to having a great cruise is having the right frame of mind. You are on a ship with 4000+ other passengers. While NCL does a great job dispersing the crowd, there may be some times which you may have to wait a couple minutes for an elevator, or a drink or whatever. If you smile and are pleasant with the crew it makes them feel better and should also make you feel better...Unfortunately, I witnessed some people who were rude to the crew who work 12 hour days, seven days a week for 9-10 month contracts. Bring some cash, spread it around instead of wasting it all in the casino... St Thomas was an early cab to Coki beach. Get there before the crowd if you want a good spot. A beautiful beach with nice sand and great snorkeling to the right by the rocks. The large (3') weird looking silver fish swimming around is not a shark but a remora. I had never seen one before and had to ask a nice lady at the dive shop. If you rent gear there they will give you dog treats to feed the fish. It helps to let them get a little mushy. Go to the left end of the beach and you may see large iguanas. The beach gets a little crowded by noon. A good time to head back to the ship or do some shopping. We chartered a boat in Tortola from Island Time Charters. Julien Johnson is the owner and has several boats of different sizes. All clean and well maintained. He skippered ours for the day and was an excellent guide and captain. He made sure we were back to the ship on time but also gave us the full experience and the trip was an excellent value. We were able to snorkel two different spots and spend a couple of hours at White Bay's Soggy Dollar. Nassau was an extra sea day for us. A chance to do the water slides as much as we wanted, without waiting in line. The drop slide is intense! A fair amount of light people were getting stuck in the middle but the crew quickly gets you out though strategically located hatches. Not a problem for me. Plenty of momentum.. The balcony cabin was nice. Remember to bring an extra card to put in the slot by the door as you come in, to keep the electricity on. Also, if you have a CPAP machine, bring an extension cord as there are no plug ins by the bed... Vacations are what you make of them. We have enjoyed all of our previous cruises with NCL and are looking forward to more. Read Less

Overall, it was a great cruise! Embarkation went smoothly, just a little confusing initially with Bliss using two terminals. A huge perk was being expedited through security! A half hour from parking the car to stepping onboard! Our cabin was available just short of 1pm and our luggage was in the cabin at 3:30!!! The dining was incredible! Cagney's was excellent, as usual. Service was incredibly fast, we had our food about 15 minutes after we sat down! Los Lobos was very good. Guacamole was handmade at your table and served with spiced chips that added just the right punch to the guac! A little pricey for the servings, but not horribly. What to say about Teppanyaki? That is the most consistent restaurant I’ve ever visited. The food is always excellent and the chefs very friendly and entertaining. Q was the one that really shone for me! The service was amazing, the portions were big, and the food was awesome! I had the platter, the sausage and brisket were really good, but the ribs and chicken were the highlight! Just enough sauce to tastes great and not have run down to my elbows! The entertainment was pretty flat for me. Jersey Boys and Havana just didn’t grab me. The music and singing were fantastic, but there were more, non-musical elements, that dragged them out. Happy Hour Prohibition was WOW! It was in the Social Club, so a significantly more intimate location that made the interactive parts of the show way more fun. Five drinks were included and they were mixed strong! The girls were amazing! Great voices and it looked like they were having a blast performing, especially when they messed with members of the audience! It is adult only, and if you are easily offended by sexual innuendo you may want to pass. We went to one theme party, Caliente, and were really disappointed with it. It’s billed as “...featuring pop/Latin music.” It didn’t. It was just electronic rave music. Basically, Glow Party with a new name. The usual game shows were there, the dance contest and the Not so Newlywed game are always hysterical!! There weren’t as many dance classes as the other NCL ships we’ve been on. Three on a 7-day cruise. We were 50/50 with the excursions. The Champagne Snorkel and Cruise in St Thomas was fantastic! We were on the catamaran The Dancing Dolphin. The cat was very clean and well maintained and the crew was incredible!! Captain Val, Hope, and Brandon were very professional and super friendly! They kept everything upbeat and made sure the rum punch and champagne flowed on the way back! We also made a quick run up to Paradise Point on the Sky Ride. $21 but the view is amazing!! Check it out on Google images!! The second excursion was a cruise over to Virgin Gorda and the Baths. It’s a snorkel in and out so, if you can’t swim, look at another way to visit. If you’ve never been to the Baths, it’s a pretty neat thing to see. CRAZY crowded, but neat. Our crew on this one didn’t inspire confidence in us. The two deck hands didn’t really seem to know what they were doing. When we left Virgin Gorda, one of them didn’t finish untying us from the anchor point so they snapped a rope, the Captain was so involved with that, he almost hit another boat. He stopped the boat after some of us started yelling for him to stop. We didn’t get off the ship at Nassau, but the majority of the passengers did. The hot tubs, pools, go-kart track, and ocean loops were pretty much empty. The go-karts were fun, very, very busy usually. The Ocean Loops water slide was a blast! One really cool memory is Wyland, the artist who designed the hull art for the Bliss, was on board. He did two paintings/watercolors at 678 Ocean Place (the atrium) every day. He’s a really nice guy and appears to really like interacting with his fans! He was always talking to us, he’d take photos with us holding his just finished painting, and just really cool. He usually had to be dragged out by his rep. I would definitely do this cruise again! The crew was incredible! We’ve always had great crews, but this one just took it a step further! The Cruise Director and his assistant (Silas and Alex) were everywhere and always full of energy. I had the biggest smile watching Silas dance with a little girl, about 8 or so, in Spice H2O! He made that little one’s night! Our concierge and butler were on our cruise 18 months ago on the Epic and they remembered us! Read Less

The ship was immaculate! Excursions were a little too short . It would have been nice if the atrium shows could have been shown on the big screen on deck as atrium got crowded. The pool deck screen was underutilized. More stuff could have been shown on it instead of screensaver type stuff. I would definitely take this cruise again staff were very nice . They were all super friendly and went out of their way to take care of us. I think they may want to look into the slide that hangs over the pool side . I got stuck in it and had to climb out the trap door on the side.! Apparently this happens frequently , I was told I wasn’t big enough . I am 5ft 3 and average weight . Read Less

We loved this whole experience. Everything was great! Service was amazing. Embarkation and Disembarkation were both very easy. The ship is beautiful. Make sure to take advantage of every thing they offer. Free entertainment and free jewelry. Cabins are beautiful! Make sure to get one with a Balcony. Don't settle for an cabin with out one. They make the experience 100 times more enjoyable. Dining: Where to start: Cagneys is hands down the best steak I have ever had! Taste and Manhattan Room were awesome. Savor was terrible, Service was bad, food was bad. The whole experience in that restaurant was terrible. The staff is not helpful. Make sure to see Jersey Boys!!! Awesome show! The 4 guys of the group are so good! The guy playing Frankie Vallie was the best. My room service was amazing! If you get floor 13 you will be taken care of greatly. Vergillio was my steward and he was amazing! Port excursions were fun and very worth it. We had 2 children with us. My son is 10 and my daughter is 7. They absolutely loved splash academy! They begged to go all day everyday!! Make sure to have your children check it out! I would go again and again! It is so fun! The bilss was amazing. I would Cruise NCL again. Read Less

My wife and I have cruised on Carnival, RCL and Celbrity this was our first time on NCL, we both agreed it was our best cruise to date. The entertainment, food, dinning options, restaurants, bars, exercise facility and staff were great. We dined at Teppanyaki, La Cucina and Cagney's. Our favorite was La Cucina, we enjoyed the presentation at Teppanyaki, the filets we had at Cagney's were ok. Main dinning room meals were great and had a nice selection. The buffet meant expectations and unlike other ships we never had a problem finding seats. We had lunch at The Local twice, and again were not disappointed. Bliss is an amazing ship, its big but very easy to get around on. By every elevator is a touch screen where you can get directions to any venue on the ship as well as a list of the days activities. The ship accommodates the number of guests well, while some venues were crowded it wasn't overwhelming. Our aft section cabin was 12292, a bit small but comfortable, the balcony was a little larger since it was on the beginning of the bump and slightly facing aft. Embarkation and disembarkation was smooth and fast. Our next cruise will be on NCL. Read Less

We chose to do this cruise late and was surprised when only 60 days out and they had a Aft Handicapped Accessible room available. This will be the third time we had a aft Balcony , love the room, hate that the elevators are so far away and there are always 2 or 3 service carts to move, which is a challenge for someone in a wheelchair. Love the ship, wish they had elevators to get to all decks. I saw they had lifts to go higher but I like to be able to come & go as I please. The observation lounge is nice but I see it as a waste of space, but I guess on a Alaska Cruise it would be useful. Besides what I mentioned the ship is very accessible for a wheelchair. I brought with me tools to repair my chair or if I get a flat, but they were confiscated at the port, it took us 3 days of explaining to security on board , finally they gave me back all my repair parts but no tools, those were given back on the last night. Not sure what I would do to the ship or passengers with a adjustable wrench and some tire irons to change a tube. The ports were nice (have been to them before). Also the guest services people need to know where people who are departing the ship in a wheelchair (not needing help) where they should go. We received bad information and was waiting 3rd in line to depart on the wrong end of the ship when we were told to go to the other end, I said no way can we get thru 4-500 people waiting on line. Finally when we voiced our opinion did we get escorted to the stern by a guy in white. But all in all we had a good time Read Less

We joined a group of friends that were already booked on this cruise so we didn’t really choose. Let me say that they made the right choice! As far as bang for your buck goes, this ship has it all. Great for families as well as adults with plenty to do for everyone. We had the ultimate beverage package so there really were no extras unless you do some of the specialty dining. Specialty dining was nice but not necessary as the food in the dining rooms was phenomenal as was the staff all over the ship. The go carts and laser tag are extra but reasonably priced and both were surprisingly fun. Yes the pool area can get crowded on sea days but it was bearable and, somewhat, enjoyable. There is stuff going on all over the ship to keep the crowds spread out so you don’t really feel that there are 4000 plus passengers on board. The boarding and disembarking of the ship is done with fluidity. I would really recommend this ship to anyone looking to have a ball on a budget....relatively speaking. Read Less
