A winter getaway! Everything that a person could ask for. Entertainment, Food, relaxation. Very scenic cruise. State Rooms were kept very clean by very friendly house keepers. Food was awesome from the Garden Cafe buffet to Cagney's steak restaurant. There was always plenty of help in every food establishments and everyone was always very helpful and in a good mood. Never once was I disappointed in the service. Disembarkment at all ports was very easy and smooth. I really enjoyed exploring all Islands that we stopped at. (British Virgin Islands, U.S. Virgin Islands, and the Bahamas) Very beautiful scenery as well as the beaches. Enjoyed relaxing on the beach in the Bahama's sipping on a Sands beer and smoking a big Cuban cigar. It don't get any better than that. Overall I had a great time and as usual when you are having a fun time flies by and you have to go home. From sunny 80 degrees to snow and below zero weather. Can't wait to do it again! The bliss is a beautiful ship. The staff are amazing. This ship is great for Alaskan cruises. It is not the greatest for travelling the carribean. Not alot of outdoor areas. Pool is disappointing. Could not swim in it. There was always too many people sitting around it to get into it. It was like one big sitting bar. It is 6 feet deep also. This is not good for someone who wants to go I to the water and be able to touch bottom. No shallow end. This ship is not well designed for 4000 plus passengers. Long wait for elevators etc. We did not use the race track or laser tag. I did hear they were booked fast. We did enjoy ourselves. This was our first cruise. If we were to cruise again we will look for a smaller vessel. We enjoyed our vacation. Thank you Norwegian for your amazing staff. Read Less

We sailed on the Norwegian Bliss in January from Miami around the Eastern Caribbean. The Captain was great and he announced he was speeding up to escape a cool front when we left Miami and also announced when there was a sighting of some Whales which was amazing! We booked a Haven Spa Suite 15862. From start to finish the cruise was everything we imagined and more. The staff work so hard and we’re always so polite and cheerful. We booked a Haven Room which also gaves us access to the Spa. The observatory lounges were amazing and you could get coffees, cold drinks and snacks in there. The Haven area itself was one of the best I have ever been on, the bar area and restaurant were beautiful and such wonderful interior decor. The outside pool area were full of comfy plentiful loungers right at the front of ship. I agree with other reports that the main pool was cramped, so I think we would have booked a week pass for Vibe which is another exclusive area with lovely loungers and available ones. Didn’t think much to the go carts, which is the only other negative as they could utilise this space better for more people’s relaxation and enjoyment. The food was absolutely delicious, we tried Garden cafe, Haven restaurant, Cagney’s, Savour MDR, Los Lobos, Teppanyaki and ale Bistro. Drinks constantly topped up, wonderful food and service. Embarkation etc was a breeze but we did have priority being Haven guests, but it all looked very calm. The room was beautifully turned out, great decor and the most huge, comfy bed and robes ever! We had canapés delivered every evening to our room. Would like to especially mention, Lucky our butler, Aldwin our room steward, Jennifer in Le Bistro, Kelvin in the Haven bar, Elenor & Jefferson concierges, Kenny Haven pool waiter and Dr Bong at the Mojito bar who is so funny, but all the staff were brilliant that we come across on this sailing. They all made my special birthday trip one of the best we have ever had. You will not be disappointed she is an amazing ship. We loved The Virgin Islands and easy to step off the ship and explore. Bahamas was very busy as 4 ships docked so could have done with more time there to explore to a smaller island. Read Less

This is our third NCL Cruise. We enjoyed The Bliss. The ship is very clean, the food is good, there is lots to do, and the drink package perk is one of the best in the industry. The Observation Lounge is fantastic. Love the activities in the atrium. Appreciate that the casino is non-smoking (they have an enclosed room). Jersey Boys was very good. Enjoyed the Beatles tribute band. The District Brew House is a favorite with those that enjoy beer. They also have some Signature drinks for those that don't. Embarkment and disembarkment run very smooth and quickly. Did not get to try Laser tag or the go-carts. Not everything is perfect. The elevator lines are long. The putt-putt golf is a joke. The menu in Taste and Savor does not change. The pool and area are too small for the amount passengers. All in all, however, the Bliss is a fantastic ship. Now I am looking forward to cruising on the sister ship, Encore, in December. Read Less

Friends of ours are latitude members and we share the same birthday and decided to cruise together to celebrate. The crew was very friendly and helpful. Embarkation was so simple and easy. Disembarkation was a little more confusing when it was time to find your luggage. They put our luggage in another section of the warehouse and did not inform us, so it took a little longer to find it. Then trying to get out of the warehouse was difficult. They kept telling us to go to different areas to leave. The ship was very clean and they were on top of keeping your hands washed everywhere you went. The cabin was clean, but a little small. We had a balcony, but unfortunately on our way south we could not sit out there because the spray from the water was keeping the balcony wet. Every morning we had to wipe down the railing and the glass from the spray from the night and day before. The ports we went to were beautiful. Tortilla we had the BEST excursion. The drivers were so friendly and very informative about their islans. This was the 4x4 Tour. Out excursion in St. Thomas we were VERY DISAPPOINTED in it. It is called St. Thomas tour and shopping. It was a drive up the mountain to the gift shop then down the mountain to the beach and then after 21/2 hours they picked us up and then dropped us off in the downtown shopping area. Not a mention of the island’s history or any information about the island was discussed at all. Would not recommend this tour at all. Our last stop was in Nassau and we just walked around. We did go shopping at Diamonds International with Amber and Sam and received a great price on jewelry. Read Less

I'm just coming off a 7 day Caribbean excursion on this ship. Writing a review is simply from my perspective in having done numerous cruises. There were some good points with this ship & its crew, but overall, although it's brand new - the layout, the food, & a lot of the staff, need help. Let's start with the positives: - Our stateroom was beautiful - we were on deck 10 mid ship. It did get pretty rocky day 4 & 5 and we could feel it significantly. The lower you go, the less you'll feel it. Unfortunately, you can't help that. - The Captain was great in explaining what was happening and trying to make passengers comfortable. - The food at The Bistro (a French Restaurant) was the best we had on the ship all week. We had to pay for it but after the week of food we had, we were fine with paying. The staff (especially the Manager) needs better table manners - he at one point told the woman we were dining with to finish her lamb by picking it up and just eating it off the bone - after 3 times of her saying "No thank you" and him persisting, he finally gave up. Back off buddy. - They had a Starbucks, cigar bar (for my hubby), ' Mojito Bar we loved - We loved Tortola & St John - We LOVED our spa girls!!! They were hands down the kindest sweetest employees on our cruise - Jersey Boys & the Comedy Night were great. We didn't go but I heard the 80s & 90s dance parties were fun too Unfortunately with this cruise, there were more negatives: - What to watch for: room service is included, but drinks WITH room service are not. Yes, even if you have the beverage package. - Bartenders will absolutely look past you and pretend you're not there. 100% the rudest bartenders I have met in my life (and I've bartended for quite awhile before - it was unacceptable) - They filled up what could be an incredible amount of much needed space with laser tag that very few (I never saw anyone there) used. Literally an entire upper deck. After 9 am, on a good at sea day, chairs will all be taken. So get there early & get your chairs! Once they're taken - you're out of luck - There is only one small pool if you're not part of The Haven -Huge buffet that you quickly get sick of. Free restaurants were TERRIBLE other than Taste which was ok. Staff had zero clue what to do and meals took over an hour and 15 to come out - and that was on a slow morning/evening. Coffee we were served was cold- that's why I was excited for Starbucks! - Do NOT pay to go to Margaritaville & if you decide to anyway, don't get the taco salad- it's literally bagged nacho chips thrown in with lettuce- that's it. Plus the staff had no clue what to do. For the love of all that is holy.please train your staff before you throw them on a cruise with 4000 people. - Don't bother with the Jeep & Beach Excursion in Nassau..it was a complete joke & waste of money, I'd recommend renting a scooter or 4 wheeler, go to a nearby beach, & catch the local food. I wish I had just skipped it and went off on our own...we passed some beautiful & fun places that we only caught a glimpse of - go do your own thing! (However I WOULD recommend the Catamaran to Jost van Dyke on Tortola- we loved it and the beach was gorgeous) - We found staff at the Garden Cafe friendly (Washi washi) but most everyone else was rude - from guest services to room service to the towel guys. I don't get it. Why are you hiring people in a Customer Service related field that can't be friendly??!' Foreigner or not - smiling is the same in any language So - would I take this Cruiseline again? No. Would I recommend it? I wouldn't. There are some really awesome amazing cruises out there. Unfortunately, this cruise ship is not one of them. Read Less

I chose for the size and entertainment, although we could not pre book any entertainment and once on the ship that was TOTALLY BOOKED so we NEVER got to see one show! Very disappointing! Try getting a good deck chair any time of day, no luck there either! People were holding chairs all day! And the service was less than stellar, including the bar at the observation deck, the one lady was downright rude! The small little spot on the 17th deck for smokers was inconvenient to say the least, as if we paid less than everyone else! Although there was a small room for cigars, where smokers weren’t allowed. I had to go to services to ask where the towel animals were, the next day we started getting them, but unless you complain, they won’t bother. The food was fair in the buffet room, biscuits were always dry, some choices better than others. The specialty restraunts were very good and service was great! Not near enough elevators for the amount of people! I kept thinking the ship was QUANTITY over QUALITY, they got as many in the rooms as they could and that’s it! Was also disappointed with the stop to St Thomas, the shortest one where we had to be back onboard by 2:30 I would have been happy staying there longer and cutting the Bahamas short! Read Less

I chose this due to timing with my children being off of college & the ports we would see w/ great weather. Everything pre-cruise was a nightmare trying to contact anyone. I had over 9 hours of hold time and no call backs & the supervisor did not help. Could not get dinner or show reservations I had previously booked. My kids got stuck on the “awesome water slide” & has to wait in a hatch until they were let out (they weigh almost 150# & should be able to make the turn), the race track is slow and costs $9 for 4 laps. The kiosks did not work to book shows on a “new” ship and you had to wait in long “guest service “ lines. There are no chairs available at the pool. The staff were not very friendly. We got sick on oysters at the steak restaurant. No one seems to care at all about our experience. I tried to contact nick but it says that page took a permanent vacation after I was again on hold for over 30 minutes to get that site info! Beware of ncl! The “freestyle “ allows you to hold up reservations & not show w/no consequences while leaving empty seats for food enters. Terrible program! Read Less

First the good:) Beautiful ship. Very clean. Casino not nearly as smokey as ships without the separate smoking area. Very little issue with waiting for elevators as some have reported. Observation lounge was fantastic. Had no problem finding seating most times. Got to the port around 930 am and was onboard by 1130 am. Jersey boys was a very good show. Havana was ok. also had a good time at the comedy club. piano man at the brew house was fun. waterslide was fun. didn't get on the go-karts but people seemed to enjoy them. room attendant friendly and attentive. strong drinks. Not so good:( ocean blue-terrible service. very slow. dinner was a 2 hour ordeal even though the vip table next to us (some lady that was in charge of wine for Norwegian and her party of 10) never had any shortage of waiters. just saying. Cagney's food was excellent as always but experience was ruined when they sat a inebriated party of 4 next to us dressed in their swim trunks and flip flops dropping f bombs and shouting at each other. band at the 'Q" stunk, food was OK. Too many passengers for available deck space. I think racetrack and laser tag has cut down on space for sunning. loungers literally 1 foot apart. Shore excursions very unorganized, no direction or communication. no large indoor lounge or venue for dancing. overall, nothing special, just OK cruise. Read Less

I did a back-to-back cruise on the Norwegian Bliss. (Jan 5 thru Jan 19). The ship is absolutely beautiful. The Observation Lounge on the 15th floor is magnificent. It's not well advertised and many thought it was off-limits which was great for those of us who frequented the area. The food in the Manhattan Room, Taste, and Savor was very good. I am not a buffet person and did not even venture there during the 14 days. Entertainment was sub-optimal. They featured Jersey Boys and Havana. Jersey Boys was better than Havana but I like flashier shows. The comedians, Allison Weber, Flip Schultz and Jim McDonald were very good. Beatlemania was absolutely superb but space was very limited in The Cavern. The show in the theater was on the last night. The entertainment was limited. There were no magic shows. I've seen the show Elements on the other Norwegian ships which was breathtaking but nothing like this on the Bliss. The biggest disappointment with both the entertainment and specialty dining was the reservations. The shows were filled on the first evening of the cruise. I kept this in mind for the 2nd cruise and as soon as I returned on the ship I made reservations. I'm not sure why there has to be reservations for the Bliss theater productions. Many people make reservations for the shows but then don't go. There is always a "standby" line which gives that NY Broadway appearance but everyone gets in. Get rid of the reservations for entertainment and make it first-come-first-served venue. Even with reservations, people started to line up an hour before the shows which was just crazy. Restrooms were at a premium. For a brand new latest state of the art ships, there seemed to have been no planning for restrooms. There were 2 sets of restrooms on floors 6,7,8 on the far ends and 1 additional on Deck 6. There were none near the Atrium or the Casino where there were lots of folks gathered. The Casino had a huge room for smokers but the smoke poured out of the area into the other areas. Smoking areas were limited so you did see massive amounts of smokers using the casino to smoke in. This was an improvement over the other ships but I still think smoking within the ship should be excluded. The smoking area had a different variety of slot machines that were not available in the non-smoking areas. The sun deck area was overcrowded and not enough lounge chairs. The race car area took away a huge amount of prime sun deck space. Service was outstanding from all the staff. There seemed to have been a shortage of staff in many areas. The staff that were there are greatly overworked and not given much time to rest and sleep. I'm not sure why cruise ships treat their staff so poorly. I can't say enough about the outstanding job these men and women do. I'm glad I took the cruise on the Bliss but I won't be back. I'll stick to the EPIC or Breakaway or Getaway. Read Less
