NCL did an amazing job on the Bliss. The observation lounge and race track were great added features. Silas, the cruise director, Mandy, the asst. cruise director, and the rest of the entertainment crew did a great job at keeping everyone's interest at the different activities on board. The new restaurants were also very good. You won't leave Q or Los Lobos hungry. If you go to Los Lobos, get the quesadilla. Food Republic is still my favorite spot to grab a bite to eat. The new open pool deck reminds me of the old school ships. The parties they plan there will be amazing. Service was above average. Great room attendant, great wait staff, and great bar staff throughout the ship. The best bar on board would be the District Brewhouse. The crew working that bar were superb. Also, Jim, the piano player in the evenings, at the Brewhouse was hilarious. He is not to be missed. The two shows, were ok. Havana had so much talent but it just seemed as if the story needed some work. Jersey Boys was good. Story was very good. Some of the singing was off. Granted, I'm not a specialist when it comes to music. However, I feel like I can tell what's good and bad. This was our first TransAtlantic cruise. We loved it so much, we will be doing the inaugural TransAtlantic of the Encore. Only 18 months to go. ;-) Read Less

We wanted to do a maiden cruise and try a transatlantic to see how we enjoyed extra sea time. It was great! The decor was beautifully understated, mirroring the colors of the sea. It will be amazing in Alaska. Like on many ships, it is more tailored to Alaska than the Caribbean. Gorgeous. Crew were very friendly and offered service above and beyond. (There was one really green waiter at lunch in Savor, though, who I hope is getting used to his role. He offered ground pepper on EVERY course we ordered. He was also nervous and fidgety.) Onboard entertainment was awesome. We loved Jersey Boys. Went to some of the comedy performances. Loved “The Beatles” in the Cavern Club. We attended the hypnosis lectures. We played bingo. We also enjoyed a lot of the Cruise Critic activities, including the Meet and Mingle, the slot pull, the LCR game, scavenger hunt, and the farewell dinner. Big thanks to The DougOut for all his work organizing the Cruise Critic activities. We loved the shore excursions. Did the Island Views, Tastes and Horses which was amazing in Ponta Delgada. Did Peggy’s Cove and the Hop on, Hop Off in Halifax. Would have ordered up better weather in Halifax, Nova Scotia, but didn’t have that option! Read Less

This was our first ever transatlantic crossing and we wanted to experience this brand new, beautiful ship. We had a great experience and were still very busy everyday of this 12-day cruise. The only thing we didn't do is pay for the Thermal Suite, which I thought was way over priced at almost $20 per day (the Breakaway was $10 per day). The Haven staff was outstanding, the food fantastic, and the no-smoking casino (a separate casino behind glass walls exists for smokers) was a great change in cruise ship philosophy. The observation decks, both the regular one and the Haven deck were fantastic places to relax and snack. In fact the observation lounge for the majority of guests was very nice, even more than the Haven deck. The staff and crew were friendly, professional, and really made us feel welcome. Our room was great, at the very front of the ship. Because the ship was less than 60% booked because of the ongoing punch list activities, it was nice not having the normal crowds. We especially enjoyed the entertainment, Jim Berger was great and hilarious, and I am now a big Camille Rae fan. I would pay to see either of them again. Read Less

Well, this is our 10th cruise with NCL and we were not disappointed. We've mainly been on the smaller ships like Jade etc, but did do Epic recently and it kind of worried us as we didn't like that so much. No fear though, the Bliss is excellent. Design, decor and ambience feel much classier. Beautiful layout, loads of places to relax and watch the world go by. Service superb as always, couldn't fault it at all. Food everywhere to the USA high standards. Gripes - entertainment in main theatre was not up to normal NCL standard, Jersey boys good but not great, Havana was terrible, but tenors of rock were alot better. Another moan was the spa suite, jacuzzi not working, not that warm, over subscribed s couldn't get lounger not of the time. Won't do that again. Loads to do on this ship, albeit we chilled on deck outside mostly. Shout out to the brewhouse, quality. Read Less
