Symphony of the Seas~Western Caribbean
January 29-February 5, 2022
Hubby had seen a video of this ship on YouTube in 2020 and was hooked. The whole purpose of this cruise was to experience Symphony. The last RCI ship we were on was Vision OTS for a Baltic cruise. We had never been on an Oasis class vessel. This was our 16th cruise and we had been to all the islands except Honduras ...
Having cruised on Oasis, Allure and Harmony I was eager to finally get to sail onboard Symphony of the Seas. I had purchased the at home test kits as a back up, just in case our two tests at Walgreens and CVS didn't come back in time. I am so happy I did because neither came back until one and two days after we had sailed. I would not recommend CVS or Walgreen's right now, we were even told at ...
When the pandemic hit, we had 3 cruises booked that were canceled. This cruise was the first we’ve taken since the beginning of the pandemic. We had low expectations and a flexible mindset which helped.
The ship was beautiful and still seemed very new.
We ate breakfast & lunch at Solarium Bistro or Park Cafe. Both were a great option. Dinner in the Main Dining Room was very good and we had ...
I’ve cruises around 15 times with other cruise lines but the dates and itinerary with this cruise suited us. The covid requirements kept changing prior to sailing but we got on easily. So far so good. But it went down hill from there. It took 10 hours to find out large suitcase which arrived at around midnight. We were told by announcement that the entertainment program was being adjusted and we ...
Advertised that there was a broadway play (hairspray), but when we boarded the ship we realized that it was missing from the itinerary. There’s hardly any interesting entertainment. Mostly just rated R adult comedy shows and “guess the price” on artwork. Boring.
Nice pool areas but always overly crowded and filled with screaming children when 95% of the people aren’t at the port. No cute towel ...
I was super excited to get on a Christmas cruise with my family (Husband and three teenage children ages 14,16, 19 and my mother in law) along with some family friends. We had never been on the Symphony of the Seas and thought it looked amazing! We booked the trip and paid $654.00 extra for travel insurance just in case . When we arrived to the port in Miami, we were told that everything would ...
We’ve cruised with RC many times and not being able to travel the past 2 years, due to Covid, we were looking forward to this.
The ship is beautiful but disappointed the Champagne bar has been replaced by the Bionic Bar, hopefully the novelty will wear off.
The only other “lounge bar” is the Schooner bar, which we used pre dinner every night. It is set out differently than on other ships and ...
Let me start by saying the entire cruise was great- even with having to wear face masks inside. I felt like they were trying their best to keep everything clean. They were even washing the walls regularly!
But the initial boarding at the pier... It was absolute chaos. If you have The Key then this won't apply to you- you have your own entrance clearly marked.
By some fluke I managed to ...
Our last cruise together was on this ship for the presidents cruise and fiftieth anniversary of Royal Caribbean. Needless to say it was great to be back! Once we completed the necessary testing and other procedures we found things to be pretty much reassuringly the same.
There were some changes for Crown and Anchor Society members and Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle level members. ...
Pros
Only 50% occupied and almost everyone was fully vaccinated
Best shows we've ever seen on any cruise (Hairspray, Hiro, Skate 2.0)
Cococay was a great private island
