We decided to try a very large ship after being on the smaller to medium sized ships. The largest ship previously was the Liberty of the Seas. We had some issues with our hotel (Days Inn) and taxi ride to the pier but were able to get on the ship very easily. Although the ship is very large, it was not very difficult to navigate except for Deck 6 which does not go across the ship at all. Thus you need to know how to get to the Schooner Bar and Boardwalk but it only took 1-2 mistakes before learning. The elevators were very crowded on the first and last days but rarely in between. Our balcony cabin on deck 9 was wonderful and roomy with plenty of storage space. Our cabin steward was great though we have been used to meeting on day one and we did not meet until day two. Though we were near Dazzles, we never heard much noise. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the menu choices over the balance of the cruise were pleasantly surprising in that they contained items that are also served in the specialty restaurants. We were a bit disappointed that there were items that had a surcharge and that roughly 75% of the menu was the same each day. However, with over 6000 passengers, I guess they have to do it that way. Service was mostly excellent though on one day the service was very slow and it took over 2 hours to eat. We had "my time" dining which allowed us the flexibility we wanted. The Windjammer was very good for breakfast but we didn't discover crepes and eggs prepared as you want them (in the back area) until the next to last day. We loved the Park Cafe and Solarium bistro as a nice change and enjoyed a free breakfast at Johnny Rockets. We also had a great meal in Chops- which is always excellent. The ship has multiple activities for kids of all ages and adults and the shows are held at multiple times and days though only one was before 5 PM. The pools were very crowded and you may not get a chair near where you want unless you are a very early bird or are very lucky. This could be a concern for those with small children. The mini-golf, zip-line and basketball courts were rarely crowded and the lines for the water slides and Abyss moved fairly quickly. There are also multiple club areas to visit at night. We especially enjoyed Dazzles Decks 8&9- though it is loud) and the Jazz Club on Deck 4. We did not like that the ship charges for popcorn at the shows and the cost of the arcade games ($2-2.50 each) are too expensive and can really add up very quickly. The soft serve ice cream (free) was great. The shows- especially Grease- were first class and highly enjoyable. The stars of Grease also held a concert in Dazzles one night and there was an informal talk in the Jazz Club one morning. The Captain and crew were very entertaining as well. There were popular theme nights activities on the Promenade and a parade featuring the major holidays held twice during our voyage. We enjoyed the ports but mainly because we stayed on the ship where we had almost full run of the pools, etc. with no crowds. We did take the ferry in Phillipsburg but all there was on the other side was a beach and more shopping. We do not believe that you get any bargains in the Caribbean- no matter how much they push it. We took a nice tour in Labadee (Labadee Traditions) where we learned about their culture and lifestyle. Otherwise, we were disappointed that there were "tours" on Labadee that charged you to go to a beach or child's play park. Of course, you can walk to the more rocky beaches for free. We were also shocked that they charged (a lot) for a tour of the bridge or a tour behind the scenes. Disembarkation was slowed by the Govt shutdown as some customs agents were not working so it took almost 3 hours to get through. At least we were not in any hurry. While I have no qualms about trying a mega-ship again, my wife felt there is just too much walking that has to be done to get from place to place. Maybe when her knees are better, she will feel differently. The smaller ships offer a nicer intimacy that this ship cannot quite match. However, if you have a family trip planned, you cannot beat a ship like the Harmony We will be making a family trip on the Allure soon. However, we are disappointed that RCL will no longer have the Dreamworks characters. We feel this is a mistake on their part. The kids we saw enjoyed meeting the characters and getting their faces painted. We hope that, at least, can continue. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go on the Harmony of the Seas. We have traveled to the Eastern Caribbean many times and enjoy the ports. While on this cruise our friends celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Royal Caribbean provided a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for the occasion. We are Diamond members of C & A and truly enjoy the nightly get togethers for drinks. We enjoy meeting people and have made some great friends in the lounge that we continue to stay in touch with. There is one thing I don't quite understand about the DL. We enjoy Bourbon. Plain old Bourbon. There is not a single Bourbon on the drink list for the DL. The bartenders say we have Jack Daniels, Jack Daniels is not Bourbon. The dining room (American Icon) staff was exceptional, although we would have preferred to have been assigned the Grande dining room. We did self disembark due to an early flight and it went well. We did, as we have done before, a modified back to back cruise- New Years week on the Edge and the second week on The Harmony of the Seas. We had problems getting a cab from the Edge pier to the Harmony pier- we also had a bad cab driver who took us to the wrong place-I think he did it on purpose to avoid the crowds. Should have reported him but didn't take his number. Since we have previously been on this ship we knew what to expect. The ship is as beautiful as ever. Public rooms great-On our bucket list was to try a Crown loft suite. It didn't disappoint! Huge with two full bathrooms , loads of storage and a view to die for! Two stores bedroom on upper level. We had seen the suite on youtube and it didn't disappoint. The service was excellent and our cabin attendents were great. We had a great location, overlooking the ocean and on the 17th deck near the suite lounge and restaurant. The suite concierges, Jerimia and Checkers were great- They helped secure our dining and cabana reservations. With a suite, it isn't necessary to make show reservations, they reserve an area at each show for suite guest- this is for Grand suite and above. The dining was very good- enjoyed breakfast every morning in the suite restaurant- Lunch we had a couple of times at Johnny Rockets which was an extra charge restaurant- but my DH really enjoys the junk food- you can get a decent salad their also. You can dine at JR for breakfast- for free and get a nice omelet if you want as the buffet didn't have an omelet station. But the suite restaurant did. We enjoyed th hibatchi experience at Izumi. Since it is very limited, reserve before the cruise so as not to miss out. If you come with children a must. We didn't dine at the park cafe this cruise, but nice to be able to get a sandwich or salad and a good option if you don't was to go to the restaurant or buffet-for lunch or breakfast. We also enjoyed dinner at Chops Grille and Jamie's Italian. Didn't go to the others this trip. But Chops and Jamie's our favorites. The entertainment is a 10 plus. Grease was broadway quality as was Columbus the Musical. The Aqua and Ice skating shows were fabulous. The adult comedian at the Attic was so funny! So much entertainment all over the ship and nightly something great in the promenade- such talent on this ship. We didn't go into the casino- unfortunately had to walk through it a few times. It was horrible- so smokey If you do not smoke or are afraid of second had smoke, try to avoid. Royal do what Celebrity has done a do not allow smoking in the Casino. Used the spa for wash and blow twice- services ok- not as good as Celebrity. We didn't go on any cruise sponsored shore x's this cruise- did our own thing. Enjoyed the beach at Labadee and our cabana. However, my husband got a weird bite either at the cabin or in the water. I recommend deet and wear water shoes especially for the kids. Overall the ship was beautiful, and we had a great time. Booked again- but not a crown loft! Read Less

We are seasoned cruisers and I decided to try one of the mega ships as a change. We thought there would be problems with so many people on board, but we were very surprised. At now time, with only exception being the disembarkation, you never felt like 6000 people were on this ship. This is a fun ship, with a lot of selections for dinner, entertainment and fun. You must book your dining and entertainment via the online system ahead of time, and especially pay attention to the discount offers via email , they were very legit. I selected the BOGO dinner for two nights for $45 a person. We got to eat at Wonderland,( $59 each ) and the next night at Central Park ( $49 each) . So we saved over $100 and had the most wonderful dining experience on a cruise ship. Wonderland is a must, but they do not tell you that you also get entrees in addtion to the five appetizers and dessert for the $59. We were stuffed leaving that restaurant. Our cabin had plenty of room and storage for a cruise cabin, and we had a bed next to the balcony . But the bed was hard and once we told our room steward she put on a duvet and feather pillows and it was extremely comfortable. No one will tell you this secret. Also we always had ice as requested and we were very lucky in having a top steward for our room. The ship is a real adventure with the promenade area, central park with its beautiful gardens, , outdoor rock climbing, water shows , ice shows and broadway. The comedians were really good and extremely funny. The jazz was so so. We also bought our internet package before and got a discount. The Casino is very large for a cruise, but very smoky, and don't plan on winning a jackpot. We waited till at least one hour after the port opened to avoid the crowds. There is no reason to stand in a line when the doors first open, unless you have to. Another pet peeve has been elevator wait time on cruise ships. On this ship there is no worry, there are plenty of well timed elevators and we never waited more than 10-15 seconds. If you are going to book this cruise, take advantage of all the email offers, as it saves a lot of money to book prior to leaving. Read Less

The Harmony (Jan 2019) was in much better shape than the Allure (Jan 2018). I really did not see anything that made me say this is disgusting and needs to be replaced as I did all over the place on Allure last year. Now Allure may have gotten updates since then, but the Harmony was practically flawless for us. The main dining room food was good. The windjammer food was good. Mini bites food was good. Ice-cream was good. Nothing really jumped out at me like wow, but it was all fine I thought. My wife says it was just OK, not bad, but not good. Chops food I thought was great. I wanted to go to other specialty restaurants and Johnny Rockets, but there was only so much time. Our room location was the absolute best ever, aside from last year when we got upgraded from a Jr Suite to a two-bedroom suite, but that looks like it will never happen again with Royal offering paid upgrades before the cruise. Still this room location was better. We were on deck six aft port side right behind the boardwalk. We had the ocean view balcony. It was a 30 second walk on the same floor to get to the board walk for a dog or a drink. Same to just get a drink in the Schooner bar. Down one level to be on the promenade. Up two levels to be in central park. I can not say how perfect this location was to be on the back of the ship and down low. You go straight up the elevators to windjammer. You go down one level to be in the main dining. We had a large group with us and four in the group were on the same floor in the same area and they all said the same thing. On an Oasis class ship that is the location to be in. One in our group was our travel agent, who of course has done many many many cruises as they are usually free for her and she kept saying that this was the best location she has been in. I was worried about being so low and in the back with engine/mechanical noise, but there was none. It was very nice to be on the lowest floor balcony and be that much closer to the water. I thought the balcony view rooms had just what you needed, plenty of hanging space, I counted 28 hangers. Plenty of drawer and shelf space. The bathroom was just enough space. We like the layout with the bed by the balcony so that couch and floor space is by the bathroom, so there seems to be more floor space when you are getting dressed without the bed dividing the room in half. We both thought the cabin to be in perfect shape and my wife said this was the first time she did not feel the need to immediately clean everything. The room steward, Courtney, did a fantastic job. I even forgot my phone cable, it uses a USB-C cable and everything else we have uses the ‘normal’ usb mini plug. Courtney asked our neighbors to borrow one so I could get my phone charged up until we got off at our first port and I could be ripped off buying a cable there. Hey, I needed the cable to take pictures and text with others on board. First shop I found the cable they wanted $40 for the cable and I just walked out with them following be “but wait” I said there is not any reason to even negotiate with you, you are just trying to totally rip me off. We found a cable in the convenience store right at the dock in St. Martin for $13.99. I told Royal Caribbean they should have all the different cable in the photos area as they sell cameras and accessories there or in ship store, and they could make some good money on them. Also, a side note, they should sell beer and cup Royal Caribbean cozies at all the bars and they would make a killing on those. Have them that fit the beer pints, and bottle, and glasses. I digress. I would have preferred to be on the Starboard side of the ship for this cruise, but every cruise and itinerary is different. Our first two days at sea we had no sun on our balcony, and actually we never had sun on our balcony until the very last day at sea when we were heading north. My wife would rather sun on the balcony most of the time without the chaos of the sun decks, but we do also relax on the sun decks. In St. Martin we faced the other ship across the dock. Had we been on the starboard we would have faced the island. In San Juan it was fine, we faced the main channel coming in to San Juan. In Labadee we faced the sea, if we were on the starboard side, we would have faced the island. So, on this itinerary I would have preferred to be on the Starboard, mainly for the sun. When in port, the view does not matter as much as you should be off the ship or enjoying the ship itself when it is empty. I don’t want to go into ship details as there are plenty of those reviews around. The Harmony is a great ship. Plenty to do. Plenty of places to do nothing. As is said it is a huge ship, but you never feel like it is crowded, except events on the promenade. Great time. Great ship. Good value. Did Allure last year. Harmony this year. Would do Royal Caribbean again without a thought. I really do like the mega ships. Read Less

Amazing ship, plenty for all age groups. Our group consisted of ages 12-50yrs One in the a party was a first time cruiser and worried about whether he would enjoy the cruise experience - needless to say he did ! We did 2 back to back weeks. The entertainment was superb, our particular favourite being The Fine Line aqua show - the talent of the performers was outstanding, in sometimes tricky conditions. Staff are chirpy and cleanliness is second to none. We never had to wait for any length of time to be served at any bar. Food is outstanding. Main Dining (silk) room waiters and in the Windjammer are superb. Our cabin steward quietly and discreetly went about his daily chores. We looked forward to the daily updates from the bridge by Captain Johnny. The stops at Labadee made for a great chill out day at the beach. And this is where my only complaint would come in. A beech staff member did not seem to employ the same ethics that RCI staff on ship employ. We were happily sorting out our lounger, when a staff member insisted he did it, then stood staring at me waiting to be paid. He gave a disgruntled moan when he received $1USD (clearly he felt the 60 seconds he insisted on doing was worth more!). I watched him do the same with other families. I will add he was the only one displaying this behaviour, I watched plenty of others happily helping and then moving to the next family. We did RCI organsied exursions and they were all amzing in terms of quality offerred with value for money. For the age range in our group this ship was perfect, and despite being fully booked, it never felt crowded anywhere, loungers were alwyas available, and seats usually available at shows if guests had not reserved any. We haf some issues with commincation from the bookings/admin office, with vital documetnaiotn whcih ahd not been sent to our travel agent - the guest services staff on board tirelessly worked to resolvethis if us. all round GREAT STAFF, GREAT SERVICE and A GREAT TIME was enjoyed. Disembarkation is slow once off ship, and something needs to be done in regards to the customs process, only 2 desks open, ! Read Less

We chose this trip because it was over the holidays and the itinerary worked out for us scheduling wise. Embarkation was really easy. We stayed at the Hilton Marina and got an Uber to the pier about 10:30 am. Pier was very crowded but we were checked in and on the ship in 17 minutes (I timed it!). Rooms were ready at 1pm and we hung out and explored the ship until then. We were prepared for that so we took only what was necessary to have with us for a few hours. Our room 9719 was a Boardwalk balcony room. We got the Soda Package and the cups were in our room upon arrival. Room was spacious and had a lot of storage. Was clean and perfectly kept up daily. Bring your own soap and shower supplies, stuff provided was pretty basic. My only complaint about the Boardwalk rooms was that it was LOUD. By about 5am every day the aqua theater tv's were playing bright images and there was carnival music going from the merry-go-round. Those rooms are not sound proof no matter what anyone tells you. It was only quiet from about 1am-5am. Thank heavens for a sleep mask! Dining was great all around! Windjammer had tons of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were a full capacity cruise so finding a spot was sometimes difficult. Hand washing stations were readily available to use as well. Main Dining Room we ended up there only twice. We were late seating and in the American Icon Grill. Pretty standard operating procedure there. Food was good, not incredible, but good. We dined at Chop's on NYE and it was very good. We got champagne upon arrival and some appetizers for doing the Holiday reservation. They were a little busy but they did mention that they had about 5 more tables than usual going on that evening so it was understandable. Steaks, sides, and dessert were all very well made. We also ate at Jamie's Italian one evening and everything we ate was wonderful. Our waitress brought us so many special things and talked to us about everything. Go! We also had room service one evening, speedy and hot. Easy to order from the tv too. We also did the galley brunch. I was a little disappointed because it was a pretty sad brunch. We did this on Jewel and it was above and beyond. Harmony's version had a set menu and was pretty much regular dining room food. Nothing special like Jewel. Don't waste the time or money. Little restaurants around the ship were great! Park Cafe, Sorrentos, Mini Bites-- all great for snacking! Plenty of Coke machines around too for drink package use. Ship activities were great too! Bingo, a must! Love and Marriage, a must! We went to all the shows which were fabulous. Ice Skating shows, Aqua Theater Shows, Headliners, and musicals. All were absolutely fantastic. Big activities were fun too. We did the Bionic Bar, Rising Tide, Abyss Slide, water slides, surfing, merry-go round, and ice skating. Be prepared for them telling you to have special clothing for like EVERY special activity. We gave up on zip lining because every time we went, something was wrong with what we were wearing. Pool deck ultra packed because of the holiday so, be mindful of getting out early! Spa services were fantastic! We did 90 minute hot stone massages and they were out of this world relaxing. Spa was clean and service attentive. Ship staff incredibly friendly and attentive. Mark the cruise director and Captain Johnny were great too. Ports were pretty standard Caribbean stops. Labadee was overcast but we had fun on the zipline and beach. Save yourself and skip the BBQ. Go eat on the ship. Jamaica... little to be desired. We did Dunn's River Falls and a float trip tour and I felt gross after all of it. Cozumel we did a cave exploration and shopping, great day! Sea days were busy and packed full of activities. Solarium was nice to lounge in when pool deck got too crowded. Disembarkation was incredibly smooth. We had an Everglades and airport transfer excursion lined up so we were off the ship and through immigration in minutes. Overall, fantastic cruise and loved practically everything on Harmony! We cruised with 6 other couples for New Year’s Eve and it was fantastic! Luckily we live 2 hours from the port so we were able to drive. Embarkation went very smoothly at 11 am, disembarkation wasn’t quite as easy but nothing to complain about. The ship is gorgeous, we had balcony rooms with 5 rooms next door to each other. Our cabin steward opened the door between each balcony so we had one large balcony to party on. Grease was Fantastic. Service and entertainment were great, especially the aqua theater. Isuzmi was A+. Would definitely do it again. But, would stay on the ship in Jamaica. Bus ride back to the ship was terrifying in Jamaica and it was a good thing we booked the excursion through the ship because we were 1/2 hour late. Looking forward to going on the Symphony next! We have travelled on all size ships and can’t decide which one we live the best. Read Less

We chose this ship because it has so much to offer - and we chose a New Years cruise, because who doesn't want to party on a ship for a holiday? We were not disappointed, and really have nothing bad to say about the cruise! Embarkation was very smooth and fast - we were on the ship before 11am. You will never be bored on this ship unless you force yourself to be. There is always so much to do and see. There are so many activities that we honestly couldn't even get around to trying them all. All the entertainment is excellent. We went to every show that we could from the Broadway and aqua shows to the comedy and game shows, and we had a great time at each! We booked every single show early, always made sure to show up at least 15 minutes early, and never had trouble finding good seats. Our cabin was exactly as expected, and we had a very friendly and attentive stateroom attendant. Honestly, dining on the boat was great. We loved every single meal we had at the main dining room, and cannot say enough good things about our wait staff. We had my time dining, and were only turned away from the MDR once, which wasn't an issue - we just went to the windjammer. Service is great on this ship. You can tell the entire staff has been trained well and are there to make sure your vacation runs smoothly - they go above and beyond when asked. The ship is very clean and in good shape. We stopped at Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel. All ports were nice. Labadee is a great beach destination, and very relaxing, as it is not a typical port - we would recommend doing the zipline, it's a really cool expereince. Falmouth is small, and we would recommend doing an excursion here as there is not a lot to do - but the people were friendly and there were nice stores. Cozumel is excellent - lots of places to shop and eat. The snorkeling and starfish sanctuary excursion is fun, and the staff on board the boat are lively and entertaining. We would 100% recommend Harmony, and are already considering going again. Read Less

I definitely reccoment going on the best cruise ship in the world: Harmony of the Seas. First of all, Sorrento's is the best pizza place in the world! The pizza is so crusty and the sauce is so good! The pizza litteraly melts in my mouth. Second of all, there are so many fun activities! Some activities is the zip-line, ice-skating, shows, competitions and more! Third, on Deck 5, it is so fun! There at night, you can enjoy some music/dance and Sorrento's pizza. Fourth, the Royal Theater is probbably one of the best theater in the world!, it has Grease which is ok. But the comedians are SO funny. Now on to the room service, the room service is the BEST, they would always make animals out of towels because they know there are kids sleeping in the room which aka is me and my sister. Oh and last but not least, the captain is so welcoming and friendly. Without a doubt, come on a journey with the one and only Royal Carribean: Harmony of the Seas. I would rate Harmony of the Seas a 5 stars because I had such a wonderful and fun experience with this cruise line. "I love Harmony! I love Harmony"- Song from Harmony of the Seas. Overall, Harmony is a great ship! It’s clean, beautiful and lots of fun! One would think with 6000 passengers that it would be super crowded. It’s NOT! The ship is laid out very well and has a great flow. Our favorite areas were Central Park where we ate in various specialty restaurants as well as the Park Cafe, which is free. (Good lunch spot!). We also loved the Schooner bar - trivia at times and in the evenings, the Piano Bar. The entertainment was good - Grease was fun, of course! Loved the water show (Fine Line) and the comedians were hilarious. On our cruise, they had to cancel 1887 - the Ice Skating Show as a few of the skaters got injured. We were disappointed but understood! We have cruised on Harmony 2 times and Allure 3 times. They are basically the same ship. There is SO much more to do on Harmony compared to other ships, like Celebrity Edge, which we just sailed the week before Harmony. We don’t love the food in the buffet or MDR, so we always buy a 5 night specialty dining package. That makes all the difference in the world to us! I’m a vegetarian, but I always find something to eat. We would sail on Harmony again! Great ship! Read Less

Teacher was fun and relaxed and broke down the steps well. Didn't check out much of Labadee or Jamaica. Went to a few art auctions, had a great time, and actually bought a few items. Looking forward to receiving. May not be the best cruise for a solo traveler but I had fun anyway. Took the shuttle to the FLL airport. Not sure I needed to do that with taxis being so easy and available. Chose ship because of the flowrider and the op to dive in Cozumel. Alas, dive was cancelled because of weather but the rest of the trip was fun. Service was terrific and seamless. I did my time for dining and didn't ever make a reservation. RC's Harmony of the Seas is a wonderful ship. Like all Oasis class ships, some might say there's too much to see and do, but if you go in with the right mind set, and look for the things that would interest you, you can find time to do it and have a lot of fun. Having previously sailed on Allure, I knew where to go and where to avoid. We had a Oceanview Balcony cabin. Nice, quiet, private. Now if you don't want privacy, but and don't mind a little noise during the day, a Central Park Balcony could work for you. If you like the noise or a night life person, go with a Boardwalk Balcony. Cause there can e a lot coming from the Boardwalk area, be it the music from Johnny Rockets, or from up above on the sports deck, the amount of people possibly coming from an aqua theater show at night, there's a lot of noise there. Or trip went to St. Maarten / St. Martin, the island looks fairly good a year+ after Irma came through. San Juan, PR. Also looks good, as does the Rain Forest on the eastern part of Puerto Rico. I'm sure if we went to central or western PR, the story would be different. And finally RC's private area of Labadee Haiti, Avoid the artist row. Unless you want to waste money. The only problem I had was with the My time dinning. A lot of people went with this potion and for most nights it was fine, not having a reservation. However on the second formal night, Lobster Tail night. It was a giant cluster you know what. I wish Royal would make My Time Dinning truly my time, by not having reservations unless you have a party of 7 or more. The two Aqua shows, and the theater shows were wonderful as well. Overall a great time, my seventh cruise with RC, and already planning my next cruise. Read Less

ARRIVAL: Spent the night before in Ft. Lauderdale and stayed at the Hotel Morrison in Dania Beach. Modern, clean, great value and close to Port Everglades. Ate at the Portly Pig which was a local fun establishment with great portabella sandwiches and craft beers. Took a Lyft to the port Sunday morning (far less expensive than taxi or hotel shuttle) and we were on board by 12:00, smooth and fast embarkation. SHIP: We had sailed several times on Oasis, so used to this class of ship. Impressive, beautiful, we always enjoy the art and this one didn't disappoint. Very impressed with many of the large art installations and found the buddah and shiva statues in Silk impressive. Lots of attention to detail. Bionic Bar was a lot of fun to watch. Crowded the first day but after that so manageable. Elevators busy only after a large show and they were very fast. Kept the ship spotless. Not big drinkers and after getting one drink at the pool for $14.95 I took advantage of the mimosa $2.00 sale at the casino during sailing days. Also they gave free mimosas on the last day while waiting for breakfast in the dining room. We got the zoom streaming which was great. We did have one day where the reception was iffy and my husband contacted them and they gave us a refund. DINING: We are vegetarians (ovo/pescatarians eat fish and eggs) so we did not do any of the specialty dining because there was not a lot for us to eat in a Chops for example. We ate most of our breakfast in the Solarium Bistro which I love. It is quiet, healthy fare and not too many people. We ate lunch there often and also this trip tried it for dinner. At breakfast ask for lox, they keep it in the kitchen. Dinner there is romantic, quiet and they have a huge assortment of appetizers such as mussels, ceviche and calimari. The menu trends towards Meditteranean. Dinner in the dining room was fun and the food was fine. Not spectacular but the service more than made up for it. We did Any Time Dining and always asked to share a table and me interesting people. Tried the Windjammer for two lunches the days we were in port and stayed on ship. Like the international flavor and felt the options were extensive and good. ENTERTAINMENT: The director was Michele and I was thoroughly empressed with him and the quality of the entertainment. By far this is the best entertainment I have experienced on board ANY ship. Very edgy and the art direction and costuming were phenomenal. The Fine Line: Fantastic, cool, graphics synchronized to the music and action was great. Far more than a diving water show. Also took in Hideway Heist toward the end of the cruise which was kitchy...both great. 1887 was pretty out there for an ice show, but cool. Great projection showed the ice changing to water and back to ice again. Alot more plot and content than most ice shows and great costumes. Also watched the free-form skating show the last few days which was excellent. Far more orchestrated than advertised and preferred the second i-Skate to the 1887. Comedians were hilarious, took in the adult show as well as the last night family friendly show. Columbus show was wacky and fast paced, enjoyed the romp and the ship onstage was amazing. Grease was well done, great leads and the Orchestra was amazing. We had seen them at Jazz on Four the night before and got to see how talented they were. SERVICE: Prior to going I had read a lot of reviews saying the onboard staff were phoning it in. Did not find that at all, in fact quite the opposite. Everyone was lovely, seemed genuinely interested in us and our trip and went out of their way to be of service. It makes me think that you get what you give. I did see some rude people who were horrible to the staff, always complaining about something. After we were on our excursion in Jamaica (keep reading) it put lots of things into perspective. EXCURSIONS: We had been to Labadee and Cozumel several times so we opted to stay on the ship and enjoy pool time without all the people. The first night of our cruise we met a couple who had been on an entire "Give Back" cruise and they were talking about how great it was to do something for others. They told us about the Volunteer Excursion available in Jamaica so we signed up. There were 13 people in our group and we rode in a bus from Falmouth to Montego Bay. Started at a halfway house where residents can stay for 6 months to get their lives together. The entire place held about 25 residents and was totally self-sustaining. They raised chickens, sold eggs, grew their own food and made crafts to sell. While there we collected eggs and tilled their garden. We also noticed they were in need of a new washer and we collected money to use towards that. Next we went to the heart of downtown Montego Bay which was teaming with people and traffic. We visited a wonderful mission that provided showers and toilitries to the people as well as three meals a day. We were there at lunchtime and helped in the kitchen and served people both inside and out. It was incredibly moving to see the work this group is doing and the people of Jamaica. After seeing people with no shoes and basically living on the street, coming back to the cruise ship and all the oppulence had new meaning. It was so rewarding and I felt good knowing that both of these chairities were getting some of our excursion fees. Our driver Mr. Robinson was a delight and in the future I will look for more volunteer excursions before deciding on a ship. Overall we had a fabulous time and I highly recommend Harmony of the Seas. We took advantage of everything we could...really enjoyed the many parades on the promenade-great costumes and energy. A few suggestions which I will share with Royal Caribbean: Solarium should be no kids at all times. I didn't see any during the day, but people brought them to dinner and it was disruptive. Sorry, I have raised my kids and would prefer dinner that is quiet. Don't fall for the mobile passport app, customs wanted to see the real deal. Zoom was fantastic and allowed us to stay connected via facetime both on ship and with kids back home. Read Less

Heard the Harmony was like Oasis on steroids. I liked the Harmony. Bionic bar interesting to watch. We have been to the ports before many times but wanted to try the ship and it did not disappoint. The shows were very good. The head waiter was very nice to us maria. We are diamond and other couple was diamond plus. We asked for little bites -small little rolls and we got them every night after we asked. There was a lot to do. It seemed at night so much to do and not a lot to do in the afternoon or port days. I had to change dinner around a couple of times due to the shows. This needs attention. Cabin and ship was very nice since ship is only a couple years old. Food was better. Prime rib don't miss. We went with waiters suggestions all very good. Crab cake also good. Salmon is good alternative. Don't miss sea days in diming room. salad is good and pasta also smelled good. We had stir fry which was excellent. The play Grease was very good. Read Less

This was our 45th cruise and the 8th with RCCL. We usually prefer Celebrity but we wanted to try this ship. We were previously on the Allure and the Oasis and had a good time except for the food. This ship was different. The food was excellent. We ate all our breakfasts and .dinners in the main dining room. .For breakfast and lunch the main dining room offered 2 choices. Full service or buffet. I usually do not like buffets, but the assortment and quality of the food was fantastic. Much, much better than the Windjammer buffet. Service throughout the ship was exceptional. Special kudos to Mimi, our waiter and Elaine Santos, the hostess in the Diamond Club. We booked an ocean view balcony cabin which was very spacious and clean! The entertainment was fantastic. The talented cast performed the show Grease which was totally enjoyable. In fact, we went back on the last day of the cruise to see it a second time. There was entertainment going on all the time. We saw 2 wonderful ice skating shows, and 2 wonderful aqua shows. There 2 comedy shows featuring 2 comedy in each show. Jim David was by far the better comedy. My wife and I were chosen to be on the Love and Marriage game show and we had a ball. The cruise director Michele was the best that we have seen. The only complaint was that there was no tables and chairs around the pool in the “no smoking” area. We usually like to sit at a table to read or play board games. We were unable to do this because all they had by the pool was lounge chairs. All in all, we were pleasantly surprised and are looking forward to our next RCCL cruise, especially since Celebrity has raised their prices drastically. Read Less

I cruised on the Harmony of the Seas November 25th thru December 2nd. This was only my second cruise ever. My first one was last year on the Carnival Vista so my review is mainly based on comparing the two experiences. I will group my review into sections in case someone just wants to skim through it. AIRPORT TRANSFER - 1 out of 5 stars Don't do it. I wasn't planning on it, but someone in our group purchased it for all of us. It cost $30 per person and involved waiting for 40 minutes at the airport to then get on a 20 year old coach bus, which took us to the terminal. The terminal is about a mile and a half from the airport! There was 4 of us, so the cost was around $120 round trip, so $60 each way. While waiting at the airport I checked Uber and it would have cost us under $20 for a Uber SUV with a 4 minute wait time! Bad start to our trip and a horrible first impression of Royal Caribbean. The return trip was a bit better, but we still waited on the bus for around 20 minutes for it to fill up. THE SHIP - 5 out of 5 stars The Harmony is an amazing ship and definitely more upscale than the Carnival Vista. Our stateroom was very nice and especially the bathroom was much nicer than on Carnival. Many bars, restaurants, and things to do. We were able to find 4 empty pool chairs next to each other at any time and in any part of the ship! The only time it felt crowded was after shows when everyone was leaving the Royal Theater or Aqua Theater, which I think is completely normal and to be expected. The pool decks were pretty much empty after 10pm and we got to have a hot tub to ourselves every night. This seemed very strange on a ship that carries so many passengers. After midnight the Promenade and all other parts of the ship seemed empty as well. The casino was never overcrowded at night. We never went to the night club so maybe that's where everyone hung out at night? It didn't seem like there were many kids on the ship and the ones we encountered were very well behaved and not a problem. THE FOOD - 4 out of 5 stars Contrary to many reviews on here, we thought the food in the Wind Jammer was fine. Many healthy options including salads, fruits and vegetables. Perhaps its a matter of expectations. My expectations were pretty low after reading all the negative reviews here and they were exceeded. Also contrary to most reviews on here, we never found the Wind Jammer to be crowded. There was a long line to get in at your typical 12-1 lunchtime so we either ate at a different time or went somewhere else. There are many other options. Not sure why someone would wait in a long line and then complain about the place being crowded. The Solarium was a great option for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Park Cafe was good as well. We used the coupon we got from Costco and went to Jamie's Italian. We were amazed. The entire experience and the food was excellent. Totally disappointed with Johnny Rockets. We also had a coupon from Costco to eat there for free. Thankfully it was free, because the food was horrible. Onion rings stuck together. Super greasy burger. Chilly Cheese Dog that looked nothing like we expected. We thought the burgers and fries at Small Bites were a lot better. ENTERTAINMENT - 5 out of 5 stars The Fine Line was AMAZING! Definitely see the show early, because as other people have stated, it often gets cancelled due to the weather/wind. Grease was great. Columbus was pretty bad. Went from ok, to weird to extremely cringy/embarassing. Turns out the whole thing was basically a Royal Caribbean advertisement. I read many negative reviews about it so my expectations were very low. If I went into it blind, I might have left towards the end. Our Headliner show was Earl Turner. Very entertaining and funny guy. CRUISE DIRECTOR - 1 out of 5 stars I wanted to comment on the cruise director Michele separately since I thought he was horrible. I'm sure that Royal Caribbean does customer research and the whole cruise director concept is catered towards what the majority of their clients want or expect. Firs of all, he was barely visible. I think it was day 2 of the cruise when I found out what the cruise director looks like and what his name is. He didn't seem to be a big part of our experience and he was also not very charismatic. The reason for my review might be that Carvinal set the bar very high. Our cruise director on the Vista was Matt Mitcham. Matt was unreal! Seeing him around and hearing his voice (deep voice with a British accent) was a big part of the whole cruising experience. He danced, he sang, he partied... He is definitely one of a kind and after doing some research it looks like he received a cruise director of the year award which is well deserved! THE DRINKS - 5 out of 5 stars We had the drink package and the first thing we noticed that you don't have to sign a receipt for every drink you got, as opposed to Carnival. This was awesome! The package already contains 18% gratuity and getting a receipt with an "additional tip" line seems like your being pressured into tipping more. We only got a receipt a couple of times in the casino bar. The alcohol selection was great and the drinks were delicious. Definitely not watered down, which we suspected Carnival of doing :-( OVERALL - 5 out of 5 stars The categories I rated lower didn't have a huge impact on our overall experience, which was fantastic! I might not go on the Harmony again (just because I would prefer to try out a different ship) but I would definitely recommend it to others. Read Less

We just got off our Thanksgiving cruise. This ship is really large. There are many different things you can do onboard; mini golf, 3 waterslides, 1 large slide (Ultimate Abyss) with lights and sounds, and 20 restaurants. As part of our room package, we received a bottle of wine and a specialty lunch. The ship was sold out so we had a hard time booking Jamie's Italian but part of that is because we had dining at 5:30. We decided to eat at Johnny Rocket's and it never disappoints. We traveled with a total of 6 adults and I love how you can spend as much or as little time together as you prefer. The last night we had dinner at Chops Grille and that restaurant is fabulous. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed how the sides are served family style. We had a fabulous time and look forward to our next cruise on the Serenade of the Seas! The casino is large on this ship, it felt larger than other ships. We fully enjoyed the art auction as well. It is fun even if you do not buy any art. I like getting the experience of attending an auction and learning all about it. Read Less

It was my 50th birthday and I heard so many wonderful things about these huge Oasis class of ships! I researched obsessively about what room to choose and ultimately went with Room 12599, on the starboard side of the ship overlooking Central Park. It was lovely! I have a fear of heights and don’t like balconies overlooking the water. But the balcony overlooking the park was cozy and just perfect. Central Park itself is on Level 8. The rooms overlooking the park on Level 9 do *not* have balconies. Levels 10, 11, 12, and 13 have balconies overlooking the park. After reading other reviews, I didn’t want to be on Level 13 and risk hearing the pool noise overhead. Level 12 was perfect because you could hear live guitar music at night but it wasn’t too loud. Ship was magnificent as was entertainment. Service so so friendly. We liked the buffet better than the formal dining rooms (not the uncharged specialty restaurants). Dinner at Wonderland was unforgettable. Trip of a lifetime! Read Less

This was our first cruise so really had no idea what to expect. Everything far exceeded our expectations. The ship itself is amazing with more activities than you will ever be able to get to in a week. Cabin was comfortable and roomy for the two of us. No issues with storage. Food choices and quality was excellent. Be prepared to pack on a few pounds. The most noticeable feature of this ship was absolutely the crew/staff/performers. Every last person we interacted with was friendly, professional and genuinely concerned that we were having a great experience. Our ports of call were St Thomas, St Kitts, San Juan and Labadee. We chose not to book excursions but instead explored each place on our own. Wonderful ports to visit. Our first cruise was so enjoyable, we booked our next one while still on the ship. Will look into booking excursions for our next trip. Read Less

We had a Junior Suite 14230. There was a little foot traffic above us caused by the pool but it was all quite by 9:00 pm and not really a problem. The balcony was spacious and had 2 chairs with feet rest and a table. I ordered a room decor and a case of water which was in our suite upon arrive as well as all of our pre-booked excursion tickets. It was amazing that it did not feel crowded as there was over 6,300 people on board. Only ran into lines on excursion points. The food was very good as we eat all dinners at Coastal Kitchen or Specialty restaurants. Only real issue was disembarkation as the line was slow and a few customs agents only worked until 9:00 which seems weird and our agent went on break at 9:30 and we were his second to last persons cleared. We heard as we left that there was still over 1,000 people not cleared so why there was several stations without agents was baffling. We used a taxi this time as the past 3 trips we used Ubers but that lot is not designed well and waiting 35 minutes on average for an Uber was not worth the extra $7 - $12 dollars of savings. This was my first cruise anywhere and I had no idea what to expect. I was in awe when I stepped foot on the ship. There was so much to do, that I didn’t get to see everything on the ship. Our rooms were always kept clean with some towel animals left on our bed. The Guest Service dept was incredible!! If you ever had a issue (minor or major) they would call and ask to come up to our cabin to make sure they made it right. The activities were all incredible and offered something for everyone. My only issue was if I was in my room at the time of announcements, I couldn’t hear them. Also, we were a bit confused about our “My Time” dining, but finally figured that out (part of being a newbie to cruising). Already booked our next cruise while on the ship. We have cruised on a few RCCL ships before. First time on this class of ship. WOW. First off, we are not your typical snooty cruisers. We strictly book Grand Suites for the amenities and perks, we will never go lower that that. That being said, I really hate the "crowd" with the "pins" on their chest in the Suite Lounge. I thought a cruise was for fun, not for showing off that you are better because you are a Pinnacle or Diamond Plus or whatever. Too much of that going on. Just have fun, have a Coke and smile and...well you get the rest. I will get right to it. Grand Suite was awesome, Cabin 9654. We loved that cabin, well positioned. I will say that the Grand Suites on this ship might be a bit smaller than on some the other ships we have been on. But overall we loved it. The only critiques I have about this suite are the ice bucket....really guys, make those bigger. TV Programming kinda sucks, but hey who watches TV on a cruise. We really enjoyed the music playing on the Compass and Route Channel. Last critique I have is a very important one....Make-up mirrors for getting ready, invest in those RCCL. questo è molto importante. Cabin gets 5 Stars. Our Room attendant was awesome too. Food: Very brief and to the point. Chops Grill sucks, the only good thing about Chops is the slab of bacon I devoured, our server was not engaged at all, she was more concerned about the other bigger tables there, full of kids and loud obnoxious people. The quality of steaks and atmosphere reminded me of steak night at the Golden Corral. 150 Central Park was awesome, staff there were kinda douchey. Food was fantastic. Johnny Rockets ALWAYS one of my favorites. LOVED IT. Izumi, nope.... Sorrentos we loved it. American Icon for breakfast was awesome, we decided for the al a carte menu instead of buffet. We had a very nice experience, staff were great and food was perfectly prepared to our liking. Room service was good, pizza, burgers, wings...in the middle of the night, can't go wrong with that. Coastal Kitchen for dinner on the last night was absolutely amazing. Try the Lamb Shank over Risotto. Now the best for last. Jamie's Italian - we went there two times during our cruise. We regret not going in place of Izumi or Chops. Everything was on point in Jamie's, our server Pritesh was the best. We had a great time in this restaurant. Overall Winner here is Jamie's Italian. Suite Lounge was the best, the best bartender Roshan. We really loved the drink perks on this cruise, but there are too many unclear exceptions on this perk. 11:00-11:00 free drinks but limited options, Heineken are free but not Bud Light, Johnny Walker not free, but Jack Daniels is free, Champagne is free all day long...on second thought, this arrangement works for us. We absolutely LOVED the Suite Lounge. We met some really cool people in the lounge. The people we met were like minded, in the fact that we were there for fun, not to up our Status or Cruising Resume. JUST FUN..... Ship is big, lots of entertainment, the Halloween celebration was an added bonus, we enjoyed that and are considering doing another Halloween cruise. The ports were meh...our favorite was Labadee Haiti. Just wished there was more fun activities in the Suites Section. Embark/Disembark was effortless, the option for Suites to have baggage sent straight to airport was awesome. The only confusion and frustration was in Port Everglades, port personnel were inept and rude. The porters hustling for tips was a little over the top. Just get my bags and take your dollar per bag, don't fight or flip coins over it. Really shady characters. Overall we give this Ship and Cruise 5 stars. There were a few negative points, but the positive were way more than the negative. We will back on this ship. Read Less

I had a great vacation on the Harmony of the Sea ship. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Any concerns I had were quickly resolved. I was advised on two shore excursions that were great. Particular thank you to Saghordhary Umbay Naiko, guest service officer. She was very friendly and helpful in resolving all my concerns. The rock climbing attendants gave me and my friends an exceptionally good time. They made the challenge of climbing the wall fun and exciting for me and my friends. The room was always clean and comfortable. The food was good at all the restaurants. The only thing I was not particularly fond of was having a garden view room. With adjacent rooms on the other side it seems a bit intrusive. I would advise guests who are concerned with privacy to stick with a ocean view room. Overall, it's a great ship and a wonderful crew. Shout to all staff we interacted with through out our 7 days cruise but hands done to Mercelyn, Igede, Joseph and Richard from On air bar, Nizar and Imade from American Grill Icon dining. Since day 1 we encounter smiles, lots of laughs, service was just great!! Never change that great attitude you have!! We are already looking to travel again, we love cruising but this experience made us feel special! Lots of entertainment through out the day. I am happy that the formal nights were actually formal. We have encountered in our previous cruises that people are not using the proper attire for these 2 night of formal attire in the dining area. They should not be permitted in the dining area if they aren’t willing to dress up. There are lots of eating options for those who aren’t willing to dress up. Read Less
