We went on this cruise expecting to see a great ship and fantastic things to do. The embarkation was really good very easy and didn't take long at all within 30 min we were on the ship this was the best bit. We got onboard the ship and headed to the pool area as my son of 4 years wanted to swim. We walked pass the children splash area which was closed. We asked a member of staff why it was closed they said it would be open later. (The splash area was never open the whole cruise and we were just told lies the whole time). We were then allowed to head to our cabin at 1pm the rooms were very well appointed and it was clean and very welocming nothing wrong there. Lifeboat Drill well having been on at least 50+ cruises in my lifetime this was by far the worst drill I have ever seen!! I am sure RC will tell you it was due to some protocol or something but I didn't feel at all safe after this drill! All cruise we were joined by workmen still finishing the ship. Painting, fixing and finishing the ship. I know its new and would expect a few testing problems but I might as well sailed with it once it left dry dock with the amount of work going on and things not working. I'm now going to tell you about Oasis Class ships having been on this ship and Oasis of the seas and this will be last time on any of them. Yes they do have some great things onboard for all ages to do from waterslides, zip wires etc etc but they can not handle the amount of people on them. If you want to spend your time in a cue all holiday well this is for you. over 5000 people on 1 ship really does not make for a comfortable experience. I am part of RC crown and anchor and am Diamond plus now so have cruised a lot with them in the past. This is the first ship I have canceled my gratuities on any ship! and only handed out one tip to my stateroom attendant. Over the last 5 years the service on board RC ships has got worst and worst and there was no way I was paying any crew for this disastar at sea (If you want a tip smile and be approachable). The front desk is a joke good luck if you need them was always packed and has less people working it than o there smaller ships!!! I don't know if I will sail RC again as I really have had enough now. They have offered us compensation for the cruise in the form of a cruise voucher not sure if I will use it or just let it go. The standards have dropped and cost cutting has taken place you don't get any nice shower gels shampoo etc even some of the cheapest hotels offer this. Overall this is ship is not worth the money and I would like for another Cruise Line and spend your money else where. Read Less

A totally un-pleasant experience, ship was not fit for paying passengers, workmen were everywhere, drilling, welding, floors being prepared and repaired, cables everywhere, ladders everywhere, there seemed no area on board that was not receiving some sort of work, hot tubs not working, childrens water area not working, aqua theatre not finished, ceilings being fitted, we had one crew member tell us we were guinea pigs for proper passengers, we brought this cruise sold as a maiden voyage back in Sept 2015 only to be told the real maiden voyage is from Spain on 29th May. We were totally miss sold this trip, if it had been appropriately priced and we had been aware it was a shakedown cruise then we would have known what to expect, but we paid full price for this and were told by passenger services on board we could have 20% off our next booking, we have no intention of ever booking another Royal Caribbean cruise, we will be sticking to the more professional P+O. A complete waste of money and valuable holiday time, if you want to holiday aboard a floating shopping center, save money and book into a cheap hotel near a large shopping complex and visit each day for the duration of your holiday.
