We were on the Cities of Light cruise. We spent 4 extended days in Prague, 8 days on the river with stops in Germany and a short stop in Luxemborg at the American Cemetery and 4 extended days in Paris. The Rhine was not navigable in some places, but Viking handled it very professionally! I strongly recommend that you do extended days in Prague and Paris. It gives you an opportunity to meet people ...
I've been on two ocean cruises before and had great times on both of them. Viking took everything a step above what I've experienced before. From including tours at each port to amazing food/wine service included with each meal, their service exceeded my expectations. When we saw sales that included free round trip airfare to Europe, we couldn't pass up on the opportunity and I'm glad we ...
The Rhine river gorge, medieval towns, Prague pre-trip were all worth the cost.
Excellent service by Viking. Pickup and drop off at the airports were spot on.
The Cruise director Andrew did a great job managing a large group of people.
The shore excursions were informative covering the fascinating history of each towns.
Nurnberg, Heidelberg, Mainz and the American Cemetery were of ...
The ports in Germany exceeded my expectations! It is such a beautiful country. Prague and Paris were fabulous! Our program director, Andrew, was the best we have ever had on any river or ocean cruise and we have cruised over 30 times. He took the time to meet and to talk to everyone individually during the cruise and did what he could to ensure that we were happy.
Viking has stepped up their ...
We wanted to experience Paris so we did the pre-extension. Wonderful adventures daily: Montemarte, Sacre Cour, and all of the typical tourist spots…in addition to finding a street food market, and navigating the Metro! City of Lights night tour was a highlight—-a stop at the Opera House was magical as we watched all of the dancers on the front portico.
The Contemporary museum and the Musee ...
Loved Prague. Viking booked us a hotel near the Old Town section, and everything was perfect. One of my favorite cities. From Prague we bused into Germany to get on our cruise. The staff, as always, were fantastic! Our room was exactly as we expected. We love the balcony and spent our evenings sitting out and enjoying the passing scenery. The food was good, not great, but very good. We ...
Our cruise on the Viking Idi fulfilled a "bucket list" item and did so in extraordinary fashion, The trip down the Rhine, Main and Moselle highlighted stunning scenery. If you want castles, this voyage delivers them in spectacular fashion. We arrived a few days early to Prague in order to explore on our own. Prague is a terrific city. Youthful and vibrant. The hotel Viking selected in Prague was ...
I chose the Paris to Prague trip in 2022 because in spring 2019 I had a wonderful time on a Viking river cruise from Budapest to Bucharest. I wanted to again have such an edifying experience -- the stuff of an expanded awareness and good memories. Beautiful scenery, rich history, relaxing cruise time, and superbly accommodating Viking staff and regional guides were all part of a memorable and ...
Viking Cities of Light River Cruise
Everyday of this cruise, without exception, the preponderance of what you will see on all included excursions will be churches and castles. This even includes the trip from the ship to Paris. At least half of the local guides were beyond boring. If you choose not to do any of these excursions, then your only option was to remain on the ship.
If you ...
We appreciate you taking the time to recognize your first-rate crew, waitstaff and chef onboard your recent sailing with us, elldinca. While we regret other aspects of your itinerary did not...
I recently took the Cities of Light Cruise from Paris to Prague, where some of the stops were the same as on my previous trip from Zurich to Paris. However, the included land tours at those locations were structured so that we covered additional sights and information from the previous trip. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them as we took in new discoveries. The service and food on board were ...
