Having never been to Europe before, I wanted to experience it in a more intimate setting. The ship was just the right size with just the right amount of people aboard and staff on hand. The shore excursions were small and intimate and made seeing the sights even better. The attention to detail on the ship far exceeded anything that I expected. I am planning another Viking cruise in August.

Viking was well reviewed, their web platform very informative amd helpful and costs offered value. As to the actual services, coming delivered and provided wonderful travel experiences.
Excursions we're well organized, safe, informative and appropriately social. Found them an excellent springboard orientation at every port.
All services were well integrated and complementary; air, ...
This was our first river cruise. Visiting Vienna, Austria was a bucket list item for me, so this helped us select this cruise. Everything went smoothly from departure in US to our return. We booked our flights with Viking and added both the pre-excursion (Prague) and post-excursion (Budapest). Having Viking meet us at the airport in Prague was so comforting. "Sit, relax, we've got your ...
All stops and countries (except Germany) were new to us.
We enjoyed everything except the Heurigan Evening. That was mediocre at best, and we felt we could have had the same experience on the ship. the venue had no locals except the server and the two musicians, and it wasn't the season for the new wine celebration. Since Vienna is such a music center we were very disappointed that we missed ...
Mainly to see Budapest and sail on the Danube.
Staff was amazing and were always accommodating.
Disappointed in some of the small towns in Germany.
Would not sail to these towns again in the future.
Weather was not good, lots of rain which put a damper on the excursions.
Main portion dinners could have been bigger. Sometimes I ordered two main courses because they were ...
We have seen the Viking Cruises advertized on PBS and it looked very inviting. Not completely sure why
we chosed this route. Initiallly it was to start in Nuremburg but with Covid, all cruises were stopped.
When we planned it again, it started in Passau, Germany.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Cruise, staff, tour guides, the ship itself.
We felt very taken care of, the food was great. The ...
Always wanted to try Viking. We were not disappointed as the whole trip was wonderful. No major issues, awesome food, comfortable accommodations, very interesting excursions. The only disappointment was our flight-seeing excursion over Passau, Germany was cancelled last minute. Overall, this was one of our best vacations ever! Our favorites were Budapest, Cesky Krumlov and Vienna. The ...
The goal for our first ever Cruise was to attend the Oberammergau Passion Play, which was postponed from 2020 to 2022. The Oberammergau portion of the trip was added to the beginning of Viking's usual Danube Waltz itinerary.
Our WONDERFUL Viking representative helped us to easily reschedule our dates.
We also wanted to FIRST experience a river cruise rather than an ocean cruise because ...
This was a covid carry over cruise for us but we added the passion play and a pre and post extension. We have taken a prior cruise snd have seen some other German rivers but we were intrigued by the itinerary especially Vienna and Budapest on this one. Unfortunately we were unable to dock in Budapest due to low water but Viking took care of things best they could and included a river cruise for ...
We chose this cruise because we've long wanted to visit Budapest and Prague, and extensions to both cities were available. Of course, we've also long wanted to cruise the Danube, especially to see Austria. Also, we'd heard so many good things about Viking cruises and we wanted to see for ourselves. We were not disappointed! Everything from start to finish was incredibly well-organized. Both of the ...
