This was our second Viking cruise. We came back because we enjoyed our previous one so much. We were not disappointed. The ship, the crew, the food and rooms were all what we expected. The dining service was really extraordinary on this trip. Everyone really did do their best to meat our desires. The servers we had the most knew our names and what we liked to drink most of the time. We were had a ...
Excellent service, professional staff on board and on shore, fine meals, interesting itinerary, knowledgeable & pleasant
tour guides, feeling of being well cared for. Stunning views, only marred by 2-night mooring next to other Viking ships,
resulting in our view of a stateroom in the neighboring ship. Pleasant entertainment and environment. Would definitely
choose Viking again. Met ...
This was our first experience with Viking. My mom and I chose this cruise because of the opportunity to see the Passion Play at Oberammergau - which is only once every 10 years. The cruise was originally scheduled for 2020, but with the Covid restrictions, it was pushed to 2022 to coincide with the rescheduled Passion Play.
The cruise is great. The crew are all so nice and treat you like ...
My mother and I had originally booked this cruise with my sister-in-law and her mom as a "Mother/Daughter" cruise. However, they could not go as they were not vaccinated, which was a big disappointment to all.
But my Mom and I managed to have an amazing time visiting Germany, Austria and Hungary. The highlight was the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany. What an experience! The town ...
We first of all got canceled prior because of COVID so we scheduled in August of 2022. We took out Viking insurance Trip Mate. Then my husband got COVID prior and could not go. I went alone, missed my flight due to weather. Viking didn’t call me , didn’t care if I was on the ship or not. I emailed the ship , no response. Now I am still struggling with Viking insurance to get my husbands money back ...
We chose this cruise because it offered the rare experience of Oberammergau Passion Play with some of Germany, Austria and Hungary. Everything was excellent except for the draught that caused some problems with cruising. Instead of the full cruise, we missed the first port and the last port and had to be bussed instead which was much less comfortable and more time consuming. Overall, there was a ...
We had heard many positive things about Viking. We also wanted to attend the Passion Play held in Oberammergau, so we tied these two things together. Even though we were not able to board the Jarl at its first port due to low river conditions, the rest of the adventure was delightful! We met new friends and enjoyed each excursion as well as our upfront extension in Munich. The food choices were ...
I went on this cruise because of the Oberamergau. I will never take another Viking river cruise. I've been on 2 Viking ocean cruises and they were wonderful. By comparison the Viking river cruise is not in the same category. The room was a cracker box. No soft drinks or snacks in the refrigerator. Only one venue for meals. The food was marginal. The staff had moments of friendliness and ...
Thank you, SetonCatholic, for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely appreciate your compliments for the Tour Director and their service aboard! However, we're sorry...
We chose this cruise with Viking because we count on them to overcome obstacles like port changes due to low water levels and still have an amazing experience. We enjoyed the people we sailed with who were all there because they wanted to see the Passion Play. The Passion Play was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and we had great seats in the lower third of the theater. We could see everything! The ...
Viking's ship is lovely. It has a very clean and crisp aesthetic with white linens and light wood. Our room had a French balcony, allowing us to get some fresh air and spectacular views right from our room. We didn't spend much time in the room, though. We preferred hanging out on the sundeck or Aquavit Terrace. The Aquavit Terrace is a little café setting adjacent to the Viking Lounge. It has ...
