The folks at Viking seemed to go out of their way to make sure that we had a wonderful cruise and experience with them, not only on their ship (the Jarl was awsome) but every excursion was amazing. The tour guides were in a league above anything I have ever experienced. The all spoke several languages, which is to be expected, but they all seemed to really love their jobs and their country. ...
We wanted to visit these beautiful cities during the holiday to experience European Christmas Markets. This was our very first Viking River Cruise and it was absolutely wonderful! The ship is warm and welcoming and was decorated for the holidays. The crew was outstanding, knowledgeable and prompt in helping fulfill any request. Our steward Jasmina was wonderful so helpful and she kept our room ...
Viking is the #1 river cruise ship —- or so they say. Some of the reviews are complimentary, our experience was not the same.
Do NOT choose Viking river cruises if:
1.You are experienced travelers
2. You expect a clean room upon embarkation — not leftover food from previous guests in drawers, coffee spills on the LR counter top, uncleaned nightstands and crumbs on the bathroom floor. ...
We appreciate you taking the time to outline your experience, NeverViking9, as feedback such as this allows us to better understand our guests’ travel preferences. However, we regret to hear...
We choose this cruise to be with another couple that we met on the Viking Rhine cruise two years earlier. This time 4 couples traveled together. We began with 4 days in Prague for the pre trip. The food tour and Prague at Night were our favorites in Prague. The lights around the city were stunning.
We really enjoyed and would have loved to spend another day in Regensburg and Passau, Germany. ...
This was our second Viking river cruise - and it won't be our last! Our first was on the Rhein in December 2021, and we enjoyed amazing Christmas markets, despite mask mandates on and off our ship. This time around was much more relaxed - no masks required! We started in Regensburg, Germany and enjoyed several smaller towns/cities before heading to Vienna for 2 days and finishing in Budapest. ...
I joined my mom, dad, and sister on this cruise. It was my first time to go on a river cruise. Mom has been on 6, Dad 4, sister 5. They had only the highest of praise for Viking - and they were correct! The ship was immaculate, the service was top-notch, the food was fantastic, and the excursions were informative (all the things I look for on a vacation in Europe). Everything ran on time (which ...
Found being on board very boring without much to do outside of the excursions. We do not care to drink and socialize for an hour before dinner, during dinner and then after dinner. The popular Aquavit dining area would not be available as people felt it was okay to save seats ahead of time with their personal items. Very limited TV selections and often no internet connection available. ...
This was our first Viking River cruise. We picked the cruise because of the date, price and we wanted to go down the Danube. The food and service were excellent. I would have liked some local food instead of just one night. Going through Germany I would think they would have had German sausage at least one time on the menu. The ship was nice, however when we booked the only available rooms ...
Viking is first class all the way. Best cruise we have ever been on. Very organized and professionally managed. Great food and excursions. The included tours were fantastic. Absolutely loved Vienna Austria and learned so much. We chose this cruise because it included the passion play at Oberammergau Germany on the front end of the cruise. Regensburg was a great city to visit. Biking in ...
A Viking River Cruise has been on our bucket list for a long time. When the Oberammergau cruise became an option, it was a twofer. The amenities of the ship were what we expected for a first-class vacation. From the food from our Chef to the crew who were nothing more than superb, most endearing, and gracious.
Our port calls were also a factor in selecting this cruise from Munich to Budapest. ...
