After my wife's first experience cruising 20 years ago, this was something I had always wanted to do. So, this year, we pulled the trigger. What a lovely experience! The staff, waiters, bartenders all stood out as part of the best of the experience and part of our fondest memories. A tropical storm developed into a Category 2 Hurricane directly in our cruising path. But, because of the captain's care in navigating around it and changing our itinerary, we wouldn't even have known that the storm was an issue. Wait staff was exceptional to the point that we are still grieving leaving our waiter Kadek Dwi. Food was very good. The drinks and bartenders were outstanding and the ports of call were very fun! Our tours of the ports of call were self-directed so I can't speak to Royal Caribbean's Shore Excursions other than to report that our table mates who took part in a number of the cruise line's excursions reported having a great time. Sailing into Chesapeake bay on the evening, 4th of July 2018 was magic. Firework displays were to be seen at multiple locations across the horizon from our balcony. The darkness on the water enhanced the romantic visual experience. This was a five day cruise to Bermuda from Baltimore on The Grandeur of the Seas. The limestone fort at Kings Warrf and turquoise waters of Bermuda are amazing. The specialty dining onboard the Grandeur is outstanding. A sushi making course at Izumi capped by a luncheon dinning of your handmade sushi was a highlight. There were fair winds and following seas the entire voyage, and the service and cuisine at specialty restaurants such as Chops and Giovanni's was superior. The breakfast in the main dining room was an amazing experience with 2 identical twin brothers, Yogi and Bubu cheerfully providing outstanding service. This 5 day cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas is a great value! Read Less

We just returned from a 5 day Royal Caribbean cruise from Baltimore to King’s Wharf, Bermuda. The entire experience was exceptional. The food, drinks, service, cleanliness of the ship and onboard activities were above and beyond. Our family and friends who joined us were spoiled rotten by the amazing staff. We chose Royal Caribbean because of s superb previous experience on a similar cruise. If you haven’t cruised with Royal Caribbean or visited Bermuda you have no idea what you are missing. This trip was vacation perfection!!!!!!! The entertainment on the ship was fantastic. We haven’t laughed so hard in years! It was SO much more fun than simply flying to an island and staying there. You have got to try a cruise if you never have .... and Royal Caribbean is the best!! I promise you won’t be disappointed. It truly is the most fun and relaxing trip you could ever take. Read Less

Very enjoyable. Service was exception. Every aspect was the highest in quality. Dinner service allowing “my time” dinning was an exceptional feature on Royal Caribbean’part. Our waiter Yogesh, was exceptional an “over the top” in the service he provided. He went beyond what would be expected in addressing our concerns. Food quality was exceptionsl. If an item was not on the menu, the dining staff would go out of the way to accommodate us. Entertainment, the shows, were “over the top” in quality, far exceeding what we expected. The comedian show was the best I ever seen. The quality exceed many of the shows we have attended on broadway. The two Shore excursions offered by Royal Carribean that we took were of exceptional quality. The entertainment in the Centrim was exceptional. The Embarkment and did-embarkment process was far more efficient that we had experienced on prior cruises with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

My husband chose this cruise to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We splurged and booked a junior suite (7656) because I had always wanted an aft balcony. Getting the Port of Baltimore was an easy 15 minute drive (we used Uber) and both embarkation and debarkation were a breeze! The Grandeur is an older ship, however the entertainment and activities staff provided a lot for everyone to enjoy. We were not traveling with our children, so it met our needs. However, our previous cruise had been on Freedom OTS and I feel as though our children would've become restless on this ship. I can't speak to the children and teen programming, but by day 7, kids were launching their sea pass cards down the stairs for entertainment. My point is that this ship is fine for adults, but doesn't have the amenities for kids (mini golf, ice skating, etc.) that your children may be accustomed to...especially on such a long sailing (9 nights). The ship is older and definitely showing signs of rust, etc. However, the ship was very clean. Our cabin steward, Randy, was one of the highlights of our cruise. He seemed to be working around the clock! We are tidy people and he kept our cabin in perfect condition. Since we were in a junior suite, we received shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and lotions. I'm picky about what I use on my hair, but I loved the products which helped to tame my frizz. Randy kept us well stocked with those! The balcony had a table and chairs as well as two lounge chairs. I enjoyed taking one of my bed pillows out and napping on the balcony. My only true complaint is that the night before we arrived in Coco Cay, I was laying on a lounge chair when something dark began to "rain" down on me. I spoke to Randy about it the next day and he told me it was ash from the incinerator. This became a daily occurrence for the remainder of the cruise. I would use a beach towel to clean off the chairs and sweep of the balcony. I saw Randy doing this in other staterooms, but didn't want to ask him to do it because the man literally worked around the clock. Food in the Great Gatsby wasn't anything to write home about, but we took advantage of some promotions and ate at Chops twice and Giovanni's Table once. Both were worth the surcharge. The service was excellent and I preferred the intimate setting. Activities were a lot of fun and all three comedians were great. We saw one stage production and it was well done. I did take advantage of the Pamper Party promotion and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I get massages on a monthly basis at home and this massage was wonderful. We did the mountain biking and beach break in Bermuda and the Balmoral Beach Break in Nassau. Both were very small groups (which we prefer and is usually why we don't book excursions through the ship) and enjoyable. The second day in Bermuda, we traveled to and from Horseshoe Bay Beach by minibus, which was convenient and inexpensive. The beach was beautiful and so were the life guards. Seriously, it was like an episode of Baywatch! LOL!!! We were excited to actually visit Coco Cay. On a previous cruise, we were unable to tender due to sea conditions, so we were thankful that we were able to make this port. We rented an umbrella and a float for the day. It was very relaxing and the floating bar was a lot of fun. I appreciated the natural beauty of the island and I'm a little sad that they are adding the water park, etc., as that may detract from the serene setting. Would I go on this cruise again? Absolutely. It was very relaxing and just what we were looking for. Read Less

The dining experience was out of this world! Our whole family was treated extremely well. The service and food.....5 stars!! Desmond and Robert were excellent servers. They always had a smile on their face and they hustled to make sure everything was going smoothly. The activities were fun to watch and the entertainment was phenomenal! They always seemed to have something for everyone to do. The onboard staff made the dancing a "act as no one was watching" experience. They took front stage and everyone had a good laugh. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. What a great stress free vacation! Our cabin was always kept clean. It seemed as though we would leave for breakfast and we would come back and our bed was made, bathroom cleaned, new towels, etc. We would leave for lunch and he would touch up our room again. How does he do that and have time to make towel animals? Excellent job! A little about Bermuda: This island is British owned , so they drive opposite of the United States so be careful when crossing the road. When you arrive at the port, absolutely go to Horseshoe bay beach, Glass beach and the glass blown factory. You won't be disappointed! The public bus is $4.50 one way. The two beaches are too far to walk. Read Less

This cruise was given to me as a promotion from a casino in Atlantic City so I can't comment on the cost (I only had to paid fees and tips). However, I can comment on everything else. Starting at the very beginning... Pulling up to the Port of Baltimore, you do a drive-by luggage drop-off. It's so convenient. They take everything from your car that you want to appear infront of your cabin door later in the afternoon. (If you are going to go to the pool when you get on the ship, I recommend keeping your bathing suit with you in a carry-on or wearing it onto the ship.) Embarkation was a breeze. You go through security and then they have tons of agents waiting for your documents and taking your picture for your SetSail card. After you get your card you go around a corner where they take your picture (you can bypass this if you aren't planning on buying any pictures). Then they make sure you have dining reservations for The Great Gatsby (the main dining room). You finally board your home for the next 5 nights. The Grandeur isn't the biggest, newest, most modern ship out there, but the guest service and friendliness of everyone onboard compensates for that. My cabin (interior stateroom 4027) was a nice size for just myself. I would feel comfortable with another person, but more than 2 people gets a little cramped. My bff and her husband and kids (13 year old boy and 10 year old girl) were in the same size cabin as me (4017-right around the corner from mine) and they had 2 upper berths that came down from the ceiling. The kids loved the bunks. Unless everyone was sitting still in one spot while one person was moving around, it seemed kind of cramped. We loved being on Deck 4 Forward because that's the deck where the Centrum (main area of the ship where lots of activities and music happen all the time) was. Everything was conveniently located. The ship isn't super gigantic, so walking from one end to the other wasn't far at all. Entertainment was terrific. We had 2 amazing comedians that did a PG rated show early and an Adult Only show later at night. Make sure to make it to the Adult Only show if you can. Soooooo hilarious! The Grandeur Entertainment staff and Big Bob, our Cruise Director, was super and they kept everyone busy. They also performed awesome shows in the Palladium Theater most nights. During the sea dàys we hung out by the pool and played games. There is a main pool and a pool inside a solarium (at the back of the solarium is the Park Cafe which serves beverages, food and snacks-especially late night). We preferred the main pool. It wasn't overly crowded and we could always find chairs. They have activites all day long. You can highlight things on your Cruise Compass (your itinerary of all the things going on aboard the ship) so you don't miss anything. Your stateroom attendant will deliver it to your room the night before for the following day. My stateroom attendant was Ricardo Estargo. He was so amazing. He made sure everything was spotless. He even brought me an ice bucket every day for my drink bottle I carried around with me. He literally catered to my every need as far as comfort in my stateroom was concerned. For breakfast every day we went to the Windjammer Cafe. It's the buffet. The food was really good and there was a lot of variety. We didn't have dinner there but they change their dinner daily for a specialty theme. They also have 24hr self-serve soft-serve icecream and cones. For dinner we went to The Great Gatsby main dining room. We had table 527 right by the window. Our waiter was Yogesh (Yogi for short) and our assistant waiter was Elena. These 2 were an incredible duo. After the first night, they knew what we wanted to drink as soon as we sat down. They even knew the kind of bread we liked and who drank with a straw and who didn't. Their attention to details and satisfaction was fabulous. Every night Yogi would give us his appetizer, entree, and dessert recommendations. I have diverticulitis and am extremely cautious of what I eat, Yogi made sure everything was safe for me to eat. He consulted the chef and told me what was okay for me and what wasn't. Their service was superior. The kids even loved the food. We arrived in Bermuda around 1 o'clock on Monday. We got off the ship and went to the end of the pier. There, many shuttle services are waiting for you. These mini-bus shuttles are the best and cheapest way to go. Ask for a shuttle to Horseshoe Bay and it will cost you $7 per person EACH way. So a total of $14 round trip. (Royal charges $33). I was so excited about how much money I was saving that I gave the drivers bigger tips. A man nicknamed "9 Eggs" was our driver on the way to the beach. I sat upfront and he gave me an awesome history tour of some cool areas we passed as well as explained all the beautiful flowers we drove past along the side of the road. On the way back there are shuttles waiting for you at the end of the beach. Dr. Larry was our driver on the way back. He explained what it was like to live on the island and work for the government. Cool information. These shuttles take you to the BOTTOM of the beach and you DO NOT have to walk the steep boardwalk pathway from the road down to the beach. We stayed at the beach for a few hours and then went back for showers and dinner. It was windy at the beach but it was gorgeous. Pink and tan sand. They have convenient outside showers, changing rooms, and restrooms. They might also have inside showers but I didn't notice. Bring your sunscreen! The next day we ate breakfast and got off the ship at about 10am. We didn't realize that the Ferry to Hamilton only runs periodically. (Buy your tokens in the little glass house where the ferry leaves for $4.50 each way.) It leaves like about every hour and a half. The next ferry we could catch was at 11:15. The only problem with that was that it docks in Hamilton at about 11:50 and then leaves to return to the Dockyard at 12noon. That gave me 10 minutes to literally take my shoes off and run to the Lili Bermuda perfume shop to get a refill of "Sunkiss" for my atomizer I bought on my last visit. Sure I could have ordered it online, but that's just not the same. So I left my bff and her son at the dock in line for the return ferry at 12noon and I took off running down Front Street. When I came back they were just loading the ferry. About 15 people ahead of us, they cut off the line saying the ferry was full and we would have to wait for the 1:30 ferry. The Grandeur leaves Bermuda at 2pm. There was no way this 1:30 ferry would make it back. So we opted for Bermuda public transportation bus #8. We took a 5 minute walk up a hill to City Hall. Next to City Hall is the bus depot. We were lucky to catch the bus before it left because they seem to run every 30 minutes and the ride back to the Dockyard was about 1 hour. We got back to the Dockyard about 1:05 and boarded the ship at about 1:30. Just a half hour to spare. The ride on the #8 bus uses the same token as the ferry. It was cool to see so many parts of the island by bus and to experience the locals riding the bus. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. BE MINDFUL OF YOUR TIME AND THE FERRY SCHEDULES! My bff's husband and daughter took a Royal Caribbean shore excursion that day. They went on a catamaran and went snorkeling. They had an amazing time. Well worth the $94 or $95 for adults and $64 for children. They raved about their excursion and said the tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The Grandeur leaves almost exactly at 2pm so make sure you are not a "Dock Runner" and leave yourself time so they aren't waiting on you, because they will leave you in Bermuda if they need to. The children in our travel party loved the Teen Club and the Adventure Ocean Club. The teen club offered lots of cool age appropriate activities and the 13 year old spent a lot of time with the kids in the club and around the ship. The 10 year old couldn't wait to leave us and go back to the club (check the schedule because it's only open certain hours). She loved it. They kept her busy and we felt it was very secure. They have the option of her being signed out or signing herself out. We chose to sign her in and out each and every time. It made us all feel safer. They also offer after hours club for $6 or $7 an hour (we didn't use it so I can't remember how much). So, this is a good option and a cheap option if you want to go to the Adult Comedy show or the Viking Lounge to dance the night away. You do not want to miss "The Quest". Look for it on your Cruise Compass. It will probably be on your 4th night in the South Pacific Lounge on Deck 6 Aft. Funny, funny, funny, but not for people who can't laugh and let go. We had our 13 year old watch the 10 year old back in the cabin so we could go to The Quest and the Adult Comedy shows. That was perfectly safe to leave them in the cabin alone. I hope I gave you some good, useful information. I am sure I am forgetting things. But you can explore the ship and the ports and you will figure things out easily. The crew members are always there to help. Overall, we had a Bermudaful time in Bermuda! Read Less

Everyone went out of their way to ensure all of our needs were met. This was our first cruise on Royal Caribbean and we plan to cruise again on Royal Caribbean. The entertainment was top notch. The variety of food offered was plentiful and well prepared. I appreciated Royal Caribbean’s recognition of our veterans and current military personnel as well as first responders. We were very interested in the itinerary of this sailing and it didn’t disappoint. We had a grande two bedroom suite which was very nice. The concierge, Francs, was wonderful to us. The ship is older, with some rust here and there, but the ports of call and fantastic staff make up for it. Ports of call included Boston, Portland, Bar Harbor, St. John, New Brunswick and Halifax, Nova Scotia. We also visited Lexington, Comcord, Acadia National Park, Kennebunk and Kennebunkport along with Peggy’s Cove. The Citadel in Halifax is very impressive. My son also enjoyed himself on the tours and the ship. On our days at sea, he told me he needed a rest! Our staff was very attentive especially our wait staff. We were honored to have dinner with the Captain and the staff on that evening were superb. Overall, a great cruise experience that I would recommend to others. Read Less

The service was beyond excellent. The dinning room staff was unbelievable! So much fun and laughter all through dinner. "Happy People" was our greeting and theme. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere of the ship was calm and relaxing. Everyone was so nice we made many friends. Apparently there are many people who have sailed this ship multiple times. One woman had been on the ship for 9 months. People love this ship and call it their at sea family. We went to two shows both comedians and very entertaining. The best entertainment was Alex in the Scooner Bar. She played piano and sang. She was wonderful and very funny the way she conversed between songs. We spent 4 nights being entertained by her. Loved her. I could have stayed aboard for at least another month. My dream trip, best ever. I actually have a piece of luggage that is currently missing. Someone took it by mistake. Apparently their bag is just like it and they were in a hurry. It is currently in Jacksonville Florida and I am in Ohio. Slightly frustrating, however the cruise line is working with me and it is being shipped. Funny thing is even with that.....BEST TRIP EVER! Read Less

The positives abound: Great to leave out of Baltimore and have a "Goldilocks" cruise experience - Everything was "just right" - not too long/short at sea, in port, excursion times, bar prices, the lot. All the staff WITHOUT EXCEPTION were friendly and supportive. Amazingly, even the kids cruising were all well-behaved. Will not be our last cruise with this line. Casino notes: Low-limit blackjack pays 6:5 vice 3:2 with no double down after split, cannot get even money on blackjack. More experienced players will play $25 tables with 3:2 blackjack payouts OR play single deck late at night if few are around. Good mix of slots, small area also exists for non smoking players. Roulette was great! $5 bet minimum on 1:1 and 2:1 outside spots, $5 minimum inside on numbers at $1 chip levels. Can play all day at $5 or $10 per spin. $2 mimosa specials at 10 AM. Next time I will play in a tournament. The Bermuda Dollar is on par with the US Dollar. Great "tip" to become memorable: We had fun bringing $200 in crisp new $2 bills and spending them whenever possible, including tipping the staff and excursion driver. Special need meals are more than just the obvious. I found I could have had Indian cuisine as a sit-down dinner option had I asked (no, I am not Indian but like the food). We even skipped a plated meal to take advantage of "Indian night". A wide variety of foods at Windjammer to meet the American, European and Asian palates. All rolls and donuts made fresh daily. Only one "complaint" made to the staff: There was insufficient handicapped tables and seating in the Windjammer. We made the restaurant manager aware of this and hopefully this will be addressed, otherwise next time we will just take the meal on deck and sit at the outside table (weather permitting". Read Less

My sister and I needed a short vacation away together so we booked this cruise from Baltimore, only a 3 hr. Drive from home. We have been on other cruises in the past with friends and family but this was just a "sister cruise". From start to finish, I can't say enough about the wonderful service on this ship. I can't imagine being away from my family for 5-6 months at a time and still smile every day to all the customers. SUCH HARD WORKERS with little time off. People say that this is an "old ship with old people". This is not true! We saw people from 1-93 on this cruise. The 93 yr old lady was playing the piano in the Schooler Bar on the last night. What a treat to watch her play the piano. Just shows that you are never too old to enjoy life! Our wait staff in the man dining room was so sweet, Gener and Imade Ari! Yes they do get paid for their service but they also deserve a little extra tip for going the extra step. The food was tasty and I loved the salad bar at lunch in the main dining room where they mixed it all up for you! Wonderful! Our room steward was also great! She always greeted us with a smile and was eager to please us during our stay. Now the fun part. We meet some folks in the casino that were so cool! We spend a lot of time playing black jack and shouting "EVERYBODY WINS! When the dealer busted. Wow, we laughed and totally enjoyed ourselves. My sister even won the slot tournament for $500.00. Bermuda was fantastic! Warm but windy for 2 days.Booked the excursion for snorkeling and loved it. We didn't get to the beach but that's ok. Overall this was a great cruise and we would not hesitate to book again on Lady G. She is wonderful! Read Less

I’ve cruised quite a few times on Disney and Carnival cruises but was dying to get on a royal Caribbean. This ship is certainly small and a little outdated but nonetheless did NOT disappoint! I wanted to do a small cruise for my boyfriends first one and he absolutely loved his time spent. The staff was so kind and courteous and always smiling. There definitely isn’t THAT much to do on board. I’d say out of an entire day’s schedule there was maybe 5 things I found really exciting and participated in. However the ones that we did go to were awesome. The entertainment shows (welcome aboard, farewell shows, etc) were just “okay.” I expected a lot more. However, all other events/activities such as the Comedian shows, lobby fair, pool deck dancing were awesome.. and the adult game shows, battle of the sexes, etc had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Music on the pool deck (especially the island band) were amazing and the drinks were all delicious and well-made. Dining was great and the portions were the perfect size. It’s definitely not the BEST BEST five star food I’ve ever had but what can you expect with such high volumes of food production and limited resources? I enjoyed every meal & left with a full stomach every night. Rooms were on the small side but honestly we didn’t care because we were rarely in there. The port in Bermuda is absolutely beautiful and only about 25-30 minutes from Horseshoe Bay. Shore excursions desk helped a lot , even when TWO of our excursions got cancelled. They suggested new ones right away and were very honest and up to date throughout the process. Only issue was when trying to get taxi times/prices/schedules the one last was the least bit helpful and claimed to not know any of the info. However, the pamphlet in the room said that the excursions desk had all of this info (which we didn’t see until after we already talked to her). Anyway, $7 for bus rides one way to and from horseshoe bay and $32 for a taxi. Easy information to have just given us. I had a feeling they didn’t want us traveling on our own and maybe wanted us to book with them instead. Aside from that, we had a blast. I’d recommend giving this boat a try especially if it’s your first cruise or you like a more intimate setting. Booking, boarding, embarking, etc. were all so easy, fast, smooth, and well organized. We love royal Caribbean and will continue to book with them! Read Less

I had a great time on my cruise. This was my second cruise with Royal. The cabin was clean and my stateroom attendant was excellent. My parents were in the cabin next door and their safe kept malfunctioning. The bed was hard but after a couple a days I adjusted and slept good. The people in the cabin above us sounded like elephants and couple times it sounded like they were going to crash through the ceiling. Luckily they quieted down by 11pm each night. The food in the dining room was great. I was disappointed in the buffet though. The made to omelette station was good, but the rest of the buffet for breakfast and lunch was unappealing. The ship is small but it felt cozy. There was lots of things going on throughout the day, even while in port. I loved Bermuda and wished we could have stayed longer. I was not impressed with Nassau and can't figure out why we had to spend 30 minutes at Sandals Resort during our bus tour. The glass bottom boat tour offered on Coco cay was terrific. I would definitely consider taking another cruise on the Grandeur. Read Less

They were always something to do while at sea. You could not ask for a better crew than what the Grandeur of the Seas had. My wife and I been to Bermuda and Bahamas before and we took this cruise for two reasons. The first reason is that we love going to Bermuda and the last time we been to Nassau we were there for a short period of time and didn't have much time to do anything. The second reason is that the departure from Baltimore is close to home so that we can drive instead of flying or taking the train. Read Less

After having a great experience celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with Royal Caribbean on the Grandeur, we decided to celebrate our 30 yr. anniversary on the Grandeur as well. The draw for this cruise was that the destinations were very different from the last one. On this cruise we visited different Caribbean ports from the 20th anniversary celebration cruise which allowed us to see Bermuda and Co Co Cay which we had not seen before. In fact, we wanted to go to Bermuda for our honeymoon, but couldn't afford to. Throughout the whole cruise, we had beautiful weather. There was always something to do on the ship. There were a variety of live entertainment shows to attend. There were dance classes, Zumba exercise sessions, spa treatments you could get and you could even see movies on the top decks on the big screen while enjoying the nice weather. Embarkation on the ship went smoothly after arriving on board about 1 pm. We were able to immediately go to the Windjammer and get food and then proceed to our cabin which was a nice, freshly cleaned ocean view room. The food from start to finish was excellent with such a variety of selections. Disembarkation could have gone smoother since we opted for the last departure time. Seems like we would have had less of a crowd to deal with which would in turn lessened the wait time for leaving the exit lines. I definitely would travel with Royal Caribbean again. the Grandeur is STILL in GREAT CONDITION!! Please TIP the staff APPROPRIATELY for providing such ROYAL SERVICE!! THEY TRULY DESERVE IT!!!! We did this trip bc we wanted to see Bermuda. We booked the royal suite for the space with young ones. We ended up loving the concierge service. Francis was fabulous and so helpful. Our guest room attendant Evangeline was amazing in every way. All the dining staff was top notch esp Agung at Giovanni's. We also loved Gregory & Patrick with dining, Bonaparte was very helpful in the lounge and all the room service people were friendly. All the dining staff were great but I've unfortunately forgotten names!! We ADORED the Cabana at CocoCay and would do it again. Our suite was so spacious and we hardly wanted to leave it. At ports, we felt the transporting to excursions could have been a little smoother. (Maybe provide shade & updates when waiting so long to leave) Also I wish the photographers could have been a little more accommodating one night with our special needs with young kids. The checking in and out with concierge was AMAZING & we decided it was worth the premium JUST for that. (And lounge time) Haha Overall we highly recommend this cruise and itenerary for sure. The friendliness of staff & Coco Cay were strong points. We will prob try to cruise on Grandeur again. Read Less

Our first time cruise was a gift from our dear friends who took us with them. Having never gone on a cruise, we were not sure what to expect. At first we were a bit intimidated by the size of the ship and the challenge to know where things are and how to get there. However, it did not take long at all to navigate the ship and get to where we wanted to go. Apparently, the Grandeur of the Seas is considered a "smaller" ship. If that is so, that worked well for us. We actually got to meet people and see them again. it was easy to meet people and we found people to be amazing friendly. We loved every bit of our experience from the cabin, the food, the entertainment, the amazing service and last but not least, the beauty of the ship. It was sheer pleasure from start to finish. Royal Caribbean was terrific! Read Less

I have wanted to see Bermuda for a long time, and I wanted to take a cruise, so this was a good choice for me for my first cruise. It was so convenient to be able to take a cruise out of Baltimore harbor, and the process was as easy as they could make it for first time cruisers. I wanted a short cruise for my first cruise to see if I liked it, and I ended up liking it very much. The staff was wonderful. I have only the highest praise for the staff's friendliness, competency, and dedication. The staff truly was exceptional in my opinion. The ship was very clean. The price of the cruise was reasonable. I intend to schedule another cruise with Royal Caribbean, and I cannot think of a better recommendation than that. Plus we got to see the Platters, who were excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to have the quality of entertainment that they provided. Read Less

We chose this cruise to be able to sample New England without having to drive to locations. We chose RC as the cruise line based on a deal thru Cruises Only. We had not cruised the NE or any where in about 8 years. We enjoyed this cruise so much we may have to book another soon. The embarkation and disembarkation processes were smooth and timely. Loved having a choice of times to disembark on the last day of the cruise. Although we had an inside stateroom, it was more than adequate in roominess and the bathroom was bigger than I expected. The dining experiences were the BEST. The hours of the buffet, as well as sit down dinners were more than expected. The quality was good also. The food was good and the choices were outstanding. The ports were well thought out. There were varied items to do at each location. I do wish one of the stops had been on our trip back down the coast though. However, the staff did an outstanding job keeping everyone busy for the two days we were at sea at the end of the cruise. We booked all our excursions outside of the cruise line, so I cannot speak to that, however, I would always recommend the hop on hop off trollies and buses whenever available, as seems to be the best way to see the towns. They were so pleasant and did everything they could to please us. The evening shows were excellent. The evening entertainment was good. The group with a female singer. a keyboard player. a drummer, and a guitar player was excellent. The food and service was great including the dining room and the buffet.. the cabins were comfortable with lots of areas to store clothes and things. The vanity was quite nice .One thing that was not well organized was the muster session at the beginning of the trip. The beauty salon did a very good wash and style of my hair but I felt pressured into buying products that I didn't want and when I returned home my salon was not allowed to use those products so it was a costly mistake. The Cruise director, Mike, was the best and funniest ever encountered. He tirelessly provided hilarity at every opportunity. The 50 plus nations which were represented in the crew work together in harmony and camaraderie. Our waiters in the main dining room, Dexter and Robert, ensured that every meal was a satisfying one. There were always plenty of options available on the menu, some of which stayed the same with plenty of new rotations added daily. Dexter, our waiter, always gave us great recommendations. One night, there were even lobster tails. The entertainment, particularly the evening shows, were varied and well beyond expectation. There was magic, comedy, singing, and performances by notable artists and World Record Book holders. This programming was offered either at 7 or 9 pm. The movies on board were not the best, but there were plenty of other things to do. I would cruise anywhere with this incredible group of people. The ship may be an older one, but there is no better service anywhere. Read Less

This cruise was our second on Grandeur of the Seas. We love this ship and the port of departure, Baltimore. The service is beyond compare, from the dining room, to the cabin attendant, to the bartenders and everywhere else. We had rough seas on the second day, so we were limited in the sea day activities and entertainment. My wife and I did not get sick but a lot of others did. Certainly this was not the fault of RC. The time in Bermuda is very short so I would recommend a longer cruise if one wants to get a better feel for the island. Unfortunately, I have to mention the quality of the clientele. There were several "bad apples" on the ship. Loud, foul language and bad (almost violent} behavior. I even had to ask a waitress to call security on one occasion. Again, this was not the fault of RC, but they need to be a little quicker to deal with obscene guests. We had an interior cabin, 7057 and were glad we didn't spend more for a balcony. It would have been useless on the rough sea days. We like Lady G very much and will sail again on her for sure. Read Less

My husband, myself and another couple took this cruise so we could drive to the Baltimore port 20 minutes from where we live. The port is easy to navigate and embark and disembark. As most other cruisers we went directly to the Windjammer for lunch upon boarding, was crowded but manageable. The crew was quick and frequent to offer drinks and take away used plates and beverages. Always with a smile. The central public area of the ship is the Centrum which has several decks of seating and beverage service with a view below to the promenade for shows and live music. We had an ocean view cabin which was suitable for 2 people, ample storage and very comfortable bed and pillows. It was oddly soundproof as we never heard any noise from neighbors or hallway traffic. We had dinner in the Great Gatsby each dinner and received superior service by Dexter and Robert. Always asked if we needed anything more and was always asked by the Captain how the dinner tasted. We left our waiters with hugs on our last evening. The Cruise Director, Mike, was exceptional in talent, humor and keeping the crowds engaged. He really made the cruise entertaining. Throughout the cruise when traversing from activity to activity we were politely asked if we would like a beverage and the crew was quick to answer or attend to any needs we requested. Always with a smile. Upon reaching Bermuda we took a taxi to Horseshoe Bay and enjoyed walking in the water and taking pictures, we took a bus back to port. $7.00 per person for both taxi and bus. We would gladly take another cruise on Lady G, hoping Mike would still be the CD and hopefully have Dexter and Robert as our waiters. A most impressive and professional crew that always had a smile.
