We went on a 9-day caribbean cruise with our family of 4. We had 2 rooms - balcony and an outside stateroom. I'll go through the entire cruise.
Embarkation
Shockingly simple. We set an 11-11:30AM time to board and it went perfectly. We parked at the cruise terminal, grabbed our luggage and walked across the street to drop off our luggage. From there it was a short stop to get our seapasses ...
Grandeur of the seas
Welcome to 1995
Ship is old, rusty run down old bucket .
Cabins desperately need refurbishing. The dining room is bearly tolerable with higher ups running around with Walky talkies very loud. The poor waiters are constantly asking you if everything is OK if you like every bite of food that you take, it’s a bit much. Classless crowd of people think nothing of ...
I chose this cruise because of the timing. My daughter had her college spring break this week and it fit into our schedule nicely for a mother-daughter SB cruise. The itinerary was pretty light (only two stops in Key West and Labadee and two days at sea) but it ended up being great. The ship was older and shows its age in the rooms and some common areas but is well maintained and clean. We had a ...
This cruise line has been one of the worst I have ever been on. As someone who has gone on multiple cruises in the past, never have I experienced anything like this.
The cruise ship itself is very old. Despite its “refurbishment” in 2012 there is mold and rust in the bathrooms. The rooms are outdated and despite the efforts of our incredible cabin attendant, it simply wasn’t the experience we ...
Wow. Where to begin. I read the reviews before booking and boarding so I knew what we were in for a ship that was small and outdated, but that's not what made this cruise unbearable. We were in an Owners Suite and it was nice. However, it was below Windjammer Cafe and the noise between 2-4am was horrible. Woke us up every night. The service on board was very over taxed and lacking but I could tell ...
I have cruised with Royal Caribbean twice before this cruise and many times with Carnival. I certainly noticed many cut-backs on this particular ship. "My-Time" dining does not exist on the Grandeur of the Seas. The first night my family showed up for dinner at 6:00 pm only to be turned away and told "my-time" doesn't begin until 6:45 pm. We retuned at 6:45 to be turned away again and told to come ...
Custumer service is the worst on this ship. Nobody take responsibilities for mistakes and they're not willing to help you right away. I travel with a friend with a medical condition and couldn't have alcohol. I wanted to have the alcohol package. We couldn't buy 1 alcohol package for the room at the discounted price of $84 a day even though we had proof my friend couldn't drink. We had to ...
Chose this cruise for date, itinerary and price was good.
Grandeur is a smaller ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet. the line is known for their massive ships. if you have kids or are looking for waterslides, roller coasters, ice rinks, bowling alleys. etc. this is not the ship for you. She does not have all the activities of the large ships. If you don't need all that then give this ship a ...
This was my second cruise ever. Grew up around boats; and have zero interest in the enormous new ships. I want to see the ocean at all times. Grandeur is Royal Caribbeans "Vision Class," and has acres of windows. It is very easy to get around. I never used the elevators.
Previously I cruised in a suite; this time I wanted to see if the cheapest cabin on the oldest ship would suit me. The fare ...
Weve been on many cruises out of the UK - mainly P and O but sometimes Fred Olsen and once on SAGA but we thought we would try something different and had heard so many stories about RCCL
We were not disappointed!
food and facilities were on a parity but the atmosphere on board was way better as was the entertainment in general
We liked the shows in the main lounge and also the band and ...
