This is my second cruise on the Grandeur in less than a year. Laving from Baltimore is great. It is so easy and convenient. The crew and staff were fantastic. I did not have a hot lunch/dinner on the whole cruise. The dining room was a disappointment that they could not serve hot food. The Windjammer was ridiculous in hot cold everything was served. The entertainment brought on board was very ...
We did this cruise as a back to back with the preceding Caribbean 11 night, for a total of 20 nights. The price was good and there were some ports we had not been to so we chose to try going out of Baltimore in the winter.
I should qualify this review by saying we are Elite Plus on Celebrity, so we couldn't help but judge this cruise somewhat by Celebrity standards (it failed). That may not be ...
We chose to sail with Royal Caribbean because it was winter, out of Baltimore and a good price. Boarding was smooth. Our cabin was adequate but the layout put the bed in front of the window and restricted our ability to look outside. The shower had a curtain instead of a sliding door. We left Baltimore late due to engine problems, arriving late in Charleston. In Charleston, a lifeboat the crew ...
Our cruise started out in Baltimore on a Saturday and it was an hour or two late leaving port due to an engine problem. On Sunday at sea everyone received message there would be no water from 1 a.m. for several hours and this would continue for the next night also as they are doing maintenance work late at night/early morning. This was no problem unless you had to use the toilet after 1 am. ...
Took this cruise to get away from the cold . Went with 3 other couples from town. Like Baltimore port for closeness to home. No need to deal with airlines.. The Grandeur is familiar with friendly crew. Always found chairs and loungers when needed.Ship is a bit worn with visible rust but due for a rehab in April. Food was okay. Like the park cafe for lunch and snack. In MDR we found the ...
Back to Back Grandeur from Baltimore for 3 weeks in January 2017. Selected Because of port of Baltimore. Interior cabin to help one cruiser prone to motion sickness. First cruise was with friends. Second with just hubby and self. Great staff and wonderful assistance with wheel chair and other needed medical accommodations for 2 of our party of 6. Sarvesch (waiter on both cruises) amazing ...
The purpose of this cruise was to be a inexpensive getaway from our Canadian winter. Having read many negative reviews about the ship I did have some concerns.
We drove to Baltimore and stayed overnight at Best Western O'Donnell St which offered included parking and two-way transportation to and from the ship. A large bus was used for this and it was very organized. Loaded the luggage on the ...
Our 9th cruise on the Grandeur - and the best one yet! Embarkation in the Port of Baltimore couldn't be any better! Less than 30 minutes from the time we entered the port parking until we were on the ship! Disembarkation was even better! 15 minutes from leaving our cabin to getting in our car!
The ship is showing it's age (mostly through cabin furnishings) - but she still offers a great ...
I sailed Grandeur in late August, so this was my second Grandeur experience. The first sailing, to Bermuda, was a terrific break. This cruise was even better. I had an inside cabin, which was clean and functional. The stateroom attendant was respectful and efficient. The ship is not brand new, but is well kept. The crew and hotel staff of this ship are delightful. The MDR food was great and our ...
Took this one mainly because it was out of baltimore and a three hour drive. The ship is in POOR condition, goes in Feb for a three week dry dock and needs it. Never saw a ship in this condition. Even the dishes in the buffet upstairs were worn. THe main dining room had some odd choices for the dinner menu, they had turkey twice on a 12 day cruise and I always looked forward to the soups....I ...
